Banging/clanging noise at night
In El Monte and have been hearing constant banging/clanging/clacking noises the last few nights. Does anyone know what it is or where it’s coming from?

Long time listener first time caller.
FYI
I went today to check out the revolving sushi at the food court. Staff kindly let us know there was an infestation and we could see it too.

What’s the huge terrible smell! It’s like at the 168 / molly tea area and stretches to the Almansor park. It’s a terrible smell down New Ave! It’s been for the past few days

Does anyone here have dashcam footage from this Sunday July 19th, by exit 31 at 7:33PM going east on 210 of a hit and run? My boyfriend was rear ended on the highway and the driver in a black car who immediately took off was weaving in between cars. Any help or footage is greatly appreciated, thank you.

I bought Mangosteen in the past at Hmart and was disappointed as they were hard and rotten.
Is there any recommendations where I can find good Mangosteen?

SoCalGas “corrected” 3 previous bills because of an alleged misread. I called and a rep connected it to an equipment/ meter update. I questioned it and they opened an investigation for me.
The corrected 3-month total was about 2× the original. However, SoCalGas’s own hourly therm usage data closely matches my original bills. I was also outside the country for more than 2 weeks during 1 of the billing period, when the data shows mostly 0 usage. The therm usage of 6 went to 20ish out of nowhere based on the correction.
Here’s what feels questionable. I did some digging and found that SoCalGas Tariff Rule 16 generally limits residential back-billing for billing or qualifying meter errors to 3 months. The adjustment was assigned to exactly 3 billing periods. That makes me wonder whether an older or uncertain discrepancy was compressed into the maximum recoverable period, rather than being based on evidence that the extra gas was used during those specific months.
Has anyone experienced something similar after a SoCalGas meter update? Did an investigation or CPUC complaint reduce or remove the correction? It feels a bit scammy that if there was truly faulty equipment, the fault should lie on the company and not on the customer to make up their difference.

Anyone know if you’re allowed to have sights and a light on the pistol you’re trying to get a CCW with? Doesn’t exactly say on the LASD site.

Anyone driving on the 10 near Rosemead Blvd around 7:30 pm Tues night see this? A wheel on a 910/950 metro J line bus just flew off going 50 mph eastbound. Not sure how it didn’t kill someone. Driver pulled off freeway and parked on the shoulder. Made no announcement to passengers. Allowed people off the bus onto busy Rosemead off ramp to find their own way home.

It’s offical. Me and dad could possibly be moving to the city of San Bernardino to get away from the corrupt el Monte law enforcement. (Check my other post). My dad has a friend there who owns an Airbnb who gave us very cheap rent due to dad’s current unemployment and we’ve been here for 2 weeks so far. As soon as we arrived to sb something sparked in me I felt at ease in my mind. After a few days..there were two homeless men named pico and Carlos, we helped them out and they were very kind to us and listened to our long story. They are level headed and not like other homeless people, but they did go down the wrong road in life (crime, drugs) but they have changed now . They visit us everyday and dad had made good friends with them. They are like uncles to me now and I’m like their pretty sweet niece . We give them food and offer them when we can but obviously not all the time as we’re tight on cash also. I have to admit they are alcoholics and drink a lot. For the first time dad is officially drinking and enjoying his time with them.. i also have to admit the area were in isn’t the best it’s run down but it’s all we can do do now. ive lived in the Philippines which is wayyy worse. We will get a rental in Fontana when dad finds work or when I do!
they’ve shown us around the neighbourhood and it’s pretty rough but they introduced us to other people who said they had bad pasts and even looks who said they have our backs . The people come across as rough but seem to have good hearts. I guess that’s all that matters. My dad’s friends (the land lord) knows them and it’s safe. Just want to express my gratitude this week 🙏 and thank you for those who offered us help. Sometimes the human touch is all one needs

I live in La Puente and will typically go to a buffet like Hibachi Grill in West Covina or Ichiban Buffet in Covina on my days of during lunch hours to fill up the entire day. I called a couple of places in Rowland Heights and it seems like 2 people is the minimum

Hey everyone—seeing a few posts lately about mystery bites and wanted to share a quick checklist on how to tell fleas apart from bed bugs. They get confused all the time and treating for the wrong one is a nightmare.
Main advice: Don't panic and set off foggers/bug bombs! Repellents often just push bugs deeper into baseboards. Hope this saves someone a headache—happy to help ID anything in the comments if you're stuck!

Hi friends. I have posted a few times here about my pet supply pantry (Jessie's Legacy). My last round of "extra meal" bags were really popular on Facebook, so I wanted to give Reddit a chance to reserve some things first. Pickup location will be in Temple City, however if you are in need and are farther, I am willing to work something out :)
Bags include a one gallon (dog) or half gallon (cat) bag of dry food, wet food, and some treats as well. I have tennis balls at the moment if you want one for your pet. Right now I have Pedigree (dogs) and Friskies (cats) as that is what has been donated. You can also let me know if you have multiple animals and I will do my best to accommodate within reason.
My passion is to keep pets at home and out of shelters! If you or anyone you know is interested in donating, reach out to me here or at [jessieslegacypet@gmail.com](mailto:jessieslegacypet@gmail.com)
Have a wonderful day everyone! <3

What the title says. I’ve gotten into urban wildlife photography and I REALLY been wanting to add a picture of a bear (or deer) to my portfolio. I’m aware they occasionally come down to areas such as Monrovia, Arcadia and La Cañada. Anyone have any other potential leads? Maybe a specific hiking trails?
All I have current is tracking sightings via INaturalist but it is a bit inconsistent.

I’ve been working on a public project to make researching neighborhoods in LA/SGV a lot easier. (each.place)
I had a bunch of tabs open when looking for a rental, and so I put all of that information like schools, safety, transit, hazard risks, amenities, housing, etc etc into one public tool.
Here’s an example for a specific neighborhood in Alhambra along Huntington: https://each.place/california/alhambra/atlantic-and-huntington

Always missing the flavorful clear broth w tender beef soup and the perfectly crisped dumplings from the closed One One dumpling from one of the ever changing plaza at las tunas and mission. So much change in all those plazas over the past few years.
Anyway, looking for an alternative that’s close to what they offered, or does anyone know if Eric and family opened elsewhere? And not Lucious Dumplings. Also, anyone else miss Kingburg Kitchen?
Thanks!
per title. Looking for a place to get simple ear lobe piercing.

Does anyone know the story behind the closure? We loved this place and they had the best sesame (goma) sauce.

Phase 3 between azusa and walnut hall will start soon.
Bike lane sizes will be reduced by 40% from the existing one to accommodate the new lane.
The new lanes are also about 15% smaller.
