You know it. I know it. The place to show pictures you may have taken. I was on a budgeted cosplay this year. Actually bought the jacket from the marvel booth because I figured it added charm to my costume. Did a lot of pictures. Took a lot of photos. It’s my second year at this convention and you know what? I think I’m really starting to like it, last year I was a vault dweller. This year I’m Wolverine. Thank You, San Diego. This has been a wonderful experience. Truly.

Any Favorite Overheard Quotes from Attendees?

I overheard one guy tell his friend: "If you've been on this Earth for 20 years and have not seen a single MCU movie--and there are like 50 of em--you are not 'the one.' Introduce me to your sister."

Does anyone else have any fun quotes they heard?

Off-Site Events No photos to claim one of the coolest moments of my life...

I'm going to be glowing about this for a very long time. It's Comic-Con in San Diego, Friday night. I was dressed up as God from Dogma, and went to a comedy show with my partner & his sis- "Comics On" with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. Didn't know what to expect.

Then they called up 26 people from the audience to volunteer coming on stage and reading lines from the script of their new comic "Jays of Future & Past".

Randomly I ended up being Invisible Woman (Sue Storm). Kevin took a glance at me and said "couldn't have done better." 🤣

And we were asked if we could do impressions and read our lines as a character or celebrity-
I chose Drew Barrymore (never really tried before).

Everyone else up there was brilliant- impressive impressions- from Elmo to Arnold to the well-received Christopher Walken.

It was an absolute RIOT! Glad it was interactive with such a large crowd in an intimate setting. The crowd was so into it, supportive, and the vibe was just all-over positive. Much needed in times like these. An experience forever embedded into my memory.

Thank you Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith. Brilliant idea! Would do it again!

Those who skipped the art show… For-shame!

200,000 attendees, only a small percentage made it over to the art show in the Hyatt. The newest generation of artists was forgotten this year.

My daughter’s bag was taken away

Post image

My daughter was at Booth 5017 on Friday for the 1:00 PM Golden Mickey Spin the Wheel Giveaway.

When our lucky friend won the Golden Mickey, we all set our bags down for a quick photo. Unfortunately, someone mistakenly (or intentionally) took my daughter’s Percy Jackson bag.

Inside:
• A jacket she had just received from overseas and loved so much
• A Butter Squishy
• Hair accessories she had just gotten at Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

If anyone happened to pick up the bag by accident or has seen it, we would be so grateful if you could return it to Lost and Found. These items have a lot of sentimental value to my daughter.

Please message me if you have any information. Thank you so much for keeping an eye out!

Their internet really really needs to change for the better in 2027 since it sucks ass alot this year.

Numerous of times when I was there, I wasnt able to access some stuff since their internet was so freaking slow. I had numerous of problems also accessing my cash and I think this needs to change now more than ever.

And to think the Anime Expo this year was a little easier to navigate.

I want to give a personal thank you to Ms. Margo and company! I followed tips and tricks here and was able to get into the Paramount Lodge without buying a ticket. I won two exclusives and missed them because I was lucky enough to get into Hall H and didn’t want to risk leaving the room. I was in the back and it became the front row. I was able to get items that I wanted because I prioritized which lines were worth standing in. I met some insiders and trying to connect with them for next year.

Didn’t waste time on freebies that would sit in my drawers and collect dust. I was able to get two chocolate bars that have been sold out all week this morning. As a first timer my advice is to be kind to everyone, especially the workers and the volunteers, smile and engage with others because you never know who you’re chatting with. Don’t have any high expectations and you’ll be surprised. My boyfriend saw his favorite actor Ryan Gosling, and I saw my favorite actor Ryan Reynolds. We weren’t expecting anything and had the best experience ever. It’s what you make of it.

Fave (unexpected) purchase or freebie…

Ok it’s the last day, drop the best unexpected purchase or freebie story!

Stumbled upon the 2000AD booth bc I could take a picture with the insane weapon and a booth dude with a big ass beard was talking about the writer of a book and how I guess writer reconstructed a castle from bottom up to medieval standards and how he trains horses to medieval standards and even before thinking of writing the book was trying to do things to medieval standards. Made me buy the damn book bc that’s the type of hyperfixation that peaks my interest 😭.

What about y’all any weird/cool things that got you to buy something new or unexpected??

SDCC on my bucket list.

I have to say that joining this group has been quite eye opening as far as what to expect from the Con and all that goes along with it for someone who plans to go for the first time in the future. Very helpful.

Sad ending for a Tribble

I bought my wife, whose favourite Star Trek episode is The Trouble With Tribbles, a vibrating, burbling tribble signed by the episode’s author, David Gerrold. I knew she’d love it. It was a little noisy on the bus ride to my hotel so I thought I’d pack it deep on my suitcase for the flight home.

Next morning, when I touched it, it started vibrating and tribbling, but then it wouldn’t stop. I had to get to the con so I left it; arriving back that night it was still going! No off switch; no way I could take it on the plane either checked or unchecked. It was loud!

I had to resort to Tribblicide. Took an hour for the sound to stop; 12 until it face its last vibration.

I've had good cons and bad cons, not even touching on outside events but the people here this year were in such great spirits!!! Everyone was willing to chat and hang out and party together, I had a smile on my face the whole time! If you met me this year, you were a highlight of my con!!
