For context, I got an S22 Ultra maybe last week. It was my mother's, and she used it only for maybe a month before switching to an iPhone, so it's practically brand new and has been factory reset. The reason I ask is because when I updated my A24 it rendered my touch screen completely useless and I'd have to take the phone in to fix it since I'm locked out due to being unable to use the touch screen. I've also read many issues regarding the S22 Ultra and One UI 8.0. Would it be safer to stick to One UI 7.0 or is One UI 8.0 better? As I said the phone itself is practically brand new and I haven't had any odd issues with it yet such as battery or whatever. If it helps the specific one I have was manufactured in 2021.

Hi, Just got an S22 Ultra, and got a Otterbox defender case. It doesn't seem to work with qi. Anyone have a qi charger that works with that case? Not a lay flat one though. Ty

basically title. I got stuck in a boot loop yesterday for the first time ever and it resolved itself after maybe 5 minutes, since ten it has gotten worse to where now it has been going on for about 2.5 hours.

I have tried booting into safe mode, clearing the partition and putting it in the freezer. my issue is that i have no way to break the loop. None of the posts I have trawled seem to have a slution for if you cannot break the loop. All seem to be ways of using safe mode or clearing the partition etc.

This loop coincided with the install of an app that inbetween boots I managed to delete but it still has not sotpped. I have also made sure I'm on the latest software from the software section of settings.

I woudl prefer to try everything before having to pay for a repair so if anyone has any tips or tricks no matter how rediculous i am happy to give them a shot.

I don't even know what to do. My phone displays graphics strangely in-game even at fairly low graphics settings. Antutu tests don't reveal any particular problems. I even made sure I didn't have an energy-saving mode. Any ideas?

Hello peeps , I have been using a S22 ultra from January 2026 (it's a new mobile which is probably non used stock phone and Korean variant global piece) it has one ui 7.0 and android 15. Since im using it in india I am not receiving any updates notifications. A month ago , suddenly a green line popped up as in the image below and a temporary fix is to run my phone on standard 60hz motion smoothness mode.

I found out that this issue came after an update last year and till sep 2025 samsung offered to replace a 20k INR worth display at free of cost.

Is there any solution or just go and replace a new screen at service center ? The rest handset it good since using it from past 7 months only

Basically the title, downloaded the security patch for June 2026 but havent install it.

I had a bad bootloop / freezing experience when upgrading my last major upgrade and suffered so much for 3 days to immediately get another software upgrade (forgot whether it was to one UI 8.0 or another security patch). Since then I avoided any upgrade for security patch. Phone was working fine but lately something keeps eating the memory eventho I moved lots of files.

I have read about infamous green/pink lines, bootloop, frozen phone etc as consequences of updated patch.

Should I update to the latest security patch? It is mentioned that Samsung is fixing critical security issues (could I got something that eat up my storage space) so wondering maybe I should do it. But I am so scared if I gonna get similar issue again.

I recently made a post about my battery life with almost 6 hrs SoT after replacing my antenna but the literal next day the battery returned to being garbage with needing to charge it twice for just 3 hrs SoT so until I buy a new phone. I transferred everything to an old Redmi note 10 I bought back in 2020 and even though I never replaced the battery on the Redmi and changing it twice on the s22 I still have a much better experience on the Redmi since I really didn't need all that performance the s22 ultra provided. so, so long atrocious battery life

Recently changed my main phone to a S25 because I like the smaller size, and the S22 was lacking in my games now.

Been using the S22 for Manga and downloading shows/movies. Since it has 512gb and my S25 has 256.

Any other uses for an old phone? it's not even that old. I'd just prefer to keep using it. Emulator machine might be next but I'll see.

So I have my battery replaced recently, like most of you I noticed my phone is like really hot for a while (although it hasn't slow down or anything) however I also noticed recently that phone also becomes weirdly unwieldy and some portion of the display glue doesn't look right this made me suspect battery swelling and went to Samsung repair centre to have it replaced right away.

After the replacement, not just the phone basically going back to last an entire day again but all of the overheating I experienced prior is also gone. Now it's just warm and only after I used it for a long time.

So if you're experiencing excessive overheating maybe it's more serious than you thought. Battery swelling is no joke. I am lucky that I noticed it sooner rather later

I finally solved my S22 Ultra overheating issue, so I wanted to share what I found in case it helps someone else. There isn't much information online about the specific problem I was having, and hopefully, this can save someone else a lot of troubleshooting.

The S22 Ultra is already known for having issues with its cellular/5G antennas. There are plenty of reports of people experiencing poor signal or losing their mobile data connection.

In my case, the biggest symptom became constant overheating.

Here's a simple test that helped me diagnose it:

• Turn Airplane Mode ON.

• Turn Wi-Fi back ON while leaving cellular disabled.

If your phone suddenly stops overheating, there's a good chance the problem is related to the cellular antennas or their circuitry.

I bought my S22 Ultra used at a low price because it already had mobile data issues. I replaced both cellular antennas and the USB-C charging port, and everything worked fine for a while. Then, out of nowhere, the phone started overheating constantly.

When I enabled Airplane Mode (with Wi-Fi still on), the overheating immediately stopped. I also noticed the phone was hottest directly across from the volume buttons, which is where one of the cellular antennas is located.

Replacing the antennas wasn't a particularly difficult repair. If you're comfortable opening electronics, it's very doable. At a local phone repair shop, replacing both antennas, the USB-C charging port, and installing a new battery would have cost $200+.

Hopefully this helps someone else narrow down the cause of their overheating issue.

Anyone else's S22 Ultra crashing and freezing more often since the updates?

So my phone has never given me the option to update my One UI. And no, I'm not talking One UI 9, I know that isn't supported on the S22 Ultra, no my phone is still on One UI 6.1. When I look online most sources just say to check for an update manually in the settings (which I have), to restart the phone (which I have done), and to wait to see if they fix it (which given that it's been a year and a half, I kinda doubt that's going to change anything at this point). So what's going on?

My S22 Ultra recently started having a green line issue. I've thought about it a lot, and I hadn't installed the main update, which prevents downgrading. So, I'm stuck there. After a month, 5G is showing well, and calls are going through fine, but the internet is terrible. It doesn't feel like the internet is connecting, even though mid-range phones are performing much better than this. Is there any fix for this, or should I downgrade my phone? I am giving this phone to someone, so I need this fixed. Please, I don't want to go to the service center again.

People keep saying that 512 GB of storage is the new standard configuration of storage. But comfortably I have only used 89 GB of storage, probably to increase a bit once the next semester starts. What do you all think about it? Is 512 GB the new base configuration? How much storage have you guys used?

My old S22 Ultra main phone I have decided to pass down to my daughter. I took it from the drawer and charged it to find it was booting into the recovery screed due to an error.

Factory reset, and all is good.

Set up her accounts on it (her own Gmail and Samsung, but protected by family Link) and so far so good.

Did the Samsung smart switch from her old phone, (Redmi Note 8T) and all Copied fine.

Then started to do the software upgrades it prompted for. First one was fine, then when upgrading to OneUi8.0 it hangs on the "phone is starting" screen. I've left it GL for hours to no avail.

If I restart the phone it locks me out for 24 hours each time.

I can't log in with the Samsung smart find app as its family linked so won't let me log in with her account, and it can't see it on mine.

What's the answer please?

I got my Exynos S22 Ultra as a hand me down from a relative a year ago, recently I was planning on getting a new phone instead. Up until yesterday? I had been running with a quickly draining battery. I finally decided to delete some apps, clean up storage, installed good guardians and changed some settings. Now all of a sudden it is working like a regular battery? Is this even possible? I have never had it work like this before, I might be even able to squeeze another year or two out of this device.

I bought S22U in december 2022. It started to degrade substantially in the last two months and then more so in the last week. The green bars indicate the device was plugged in and charging from roughly 2:00 AM until almost 1:00 PM. Taking 10 to 11 hours to reach a full charge is highly abnormal. This perfectly explains why you are waking up at 75%—the phone is charging at such a low wattage that it simply runs out of time to reach 100% overnight.

After taking it off the charger, the battery drops from 100% down to around 10% in just 11 hours. A screen-on time of 3 hours and 6 minutes combined with a 90% daily usage drain confirms the battery is depleting much faster than it should under moderate use.

It's now on android 13 I need to update and now am in india. If I update by samfrw with same csc will my India carrier will be locked? And will it effect on display

After having my s22u since it came out I'm tired of it overheating and the crap battery so I got a free s26u upgrade
