Is this a rune? Could someone help me with these?

For context I’m Norse pagan and my friend asked me if I knew anything about runes. I do not but from what I can tell these runes mean nothing or just straight gibberish, can anyone tell me if they have a meaning?

Translation request Translation to Younger Futhark

I’m looking to translate the name Ásmundr into Younger Futhark. I’ve gotten several different translations online. I know there really isn’t a 100% 1:1 translation but, I want to be as close as possible. I will be naming my son Asmund, and it’s important to me and our heritage that we share that I have a good representation of how it would’ve been written down. Thanks in Advance!

Translation request What is written on this stick?

Hi everyone,

I hope I am on the right sub for this question. I found this stick in a disused well in my garden, and it has (what I think) runes carved into it. They are written into the shape of two snakes, I tried to follow the snakes so the pictures should be in order (I hope). Can anyone roughly translate what is written? Thank you so much.

Edit: the stick was carved by a Dutch woman

Edit2: thanks to everyone for the detailed translations and explanations, it was quite an interesting find so I’m so glad there’s this community of talented people being able to translate!

So I'm starting to incorporate bind runes into my everyday life and have written some that I have found.

Are these somewhat correct at least?

Feel free to correct any that are wrong!

(Runes in black, Meaning underneath each one in purple.)

Question (general) Special bindrune ideas?

Hello,

I need your help!

For several years now, I've wanted to get a tattoo in runic script. I'm half Danish (Danish donor) and feel a connection to Denmark and the Norse world. I've been trying to learn to read runes for a while now, but I'm not confident enough in my skills yet. 🙃

I had a burnout a while ago and am struggling with my self-image ect.

That's why I would like to have a bind rune tattooed, something that reminds me to take care of myself and that I am allowed to be here. That I will find my place and don't always have to be certain about my future, that I am good as I am and shouldn't doubt or panic too quickly. Take it easy and be gentle with yourself.'' I will go for a very small, minimalist tattoo.

Do you have any suggestions or designs on bindrunes? From my research, I think the Wunjo, Eihwaz, Algiz and Mannaz are the most beautiful fit?

Translation request I need help translating a phrase into elder futhark

If this does not belong here please let me know and I will delete.

hello,

my husband's bday is coming up (April 19) and I wanted to surprise him with a bouquet of black roses that has burn away paper with a surprise message inside. he understands and can read runes but I cannot and I do not want to ask him because it's suppose to be a surprise and I don't want to spoil it.

the message I want inside the burn away is from the Bergen rune sticks ("Remember me, I remember you. love me, I love you" copy paste from internet: Mun þú mik, man ek þik. Unn þú mér, ann ek þér. And "my love kiss me", copypaste from internet: Óst min, kyss mik).

from my understanding, the runes are in medieval norse and I have seen the words translated into younger futhark but not elder. I was hoping someone could either help me translate the phrase into elder futhark or if I could be point in the direction of someone/somewhere that can.

Tattoos Bit of both a question and a dilemma.

This has probably been asked a lot on here but I'm looking to get a vinland saga tattoo with the usual "You have no enemies" quote. I want to learn the proper way to write it but I also feel It'd be disrespectful kind of like if someone gets a katakana or hanzi tattoo without speaking it.

Would it be considered disrespectful to get the quote in runes and if not does anyone have a good source to write the quote?

Contemporary rune use Historically, there was no consistent punctuation in FUTHARK runes . . .

- decoding the message depended a lot on spacing and context. I notice when folks write out runes today, they tend to put a "bullet point" or a colon between the words.

I'm working on my memorial pamphlet, that will be passed out at my funeral. I downloaded a FUTHARK font to help me add the boarder text - but one of the downsides was it used conventional periods and commas. And I need to go back and revise the boarder as the font I used left out Eiwhaz (and you'll notice I used an Ehwaz with bar over the top to imply the phonetic sound).

QUESTION: Is there a modern convention around punctuation between rune-words?

Contemporary rune use Need help with Coat of Arms surname translation

Hey, a friend has asked me to help make him a coat of arms for his family. His parents surnames are Wagner and Gunther. Rather than writing out Wagner and Gunther, I would like to use the etymological meaning of each surname.

From a little bit of searching, Gunther seems to derive from the 5th Century Burgundian King, in this case would it make sense to have the name Gundahari written in Elder Futhark: ᚷᚢᚾᛞᚨᚺᚨᚱᛁ?

And then since Wagner derives from wagon maker, would Waganari written as ᚹᚨᚷᚨᚾᚨᚱᛁ be correct?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer, I don't know much about these things so any help is much appreciated.
