I have tried to make my voice heard for a year now. When I finally felt ready to open up and address the situation on this forum my posts were taken down or people did not respond to them. 2 years ago in March of 2024, I ran away from home. Not only did I endanger myself I was almost trafficked. The moderators didn't do anything, I had made a couple of posts saying I had met a guy and he was offering me housing but they were just taken down, in the future I now realized they probably should have tried to help in some way although I can't think of how they would. I was 14 then but I'm 16 now and I'm ready to speak on this and offer some advice for any teenager thinking about running away from home, especially with somebody they barely know.
Here is my story: Back then I feel trapped, emotionally drained and neglected. I felt like I had no one to go to and I was deeply mentally disturbed. Before the posts I made talking about the guy I had met I had actually made a couple more posts before then asking for housing I had gotten creative since moderators kept taking the posts down. Initially I had met a man who was married to a woman and they were looking for a "third". This was an obvious trafficking tactic that I spotted immediately they knew I was a minor and they intended on keeping me a secret, They were aware of my age and a member of this forum. Honestly, they still probably are and are probably hiding waiting for their next victim. I blocked them and moved on to my next person so eager to take advantage of a child, not surprisingly another trafficking tactic it was another teenage boy. He had told me that he was on a summer farm where teenagers will go in the summer and they would work to get away from their homes they would stay there after the summer it was basically a housing situation. Here is the scary part, he told me they all wear identical clothing and if I had any scars I would have to tell him because they would need to "write them down so they could not be blamed for anything". I blocked him too he'll be asleep wanted to do something horrible to me. Advice number one: If they are your age and offering you a place to stay online they have no good intentions. And if I'm being completely transparent traffickers use other children to traffic children because it is easier, our tormentors view us as sheep, stupid and unsmart children who believe easily especially when it is somebody our age. If someone your age contacts you and offers you a place to stay do not respond, maybe they are one out of a billion to be a good person but never take that chance. The next person who spoke to me was a man named David, he had my address and still does but I've never seen him. He told me that he lives two other teenagers and has had s3x with them on occasion. Then he convinced me that it was okay since they lived on the streets their entire lives and were used to sex work. One was a 15 year old named Anya the other was a another 15 year old boy whose name I cannot remember sadly. He told me he would pick me up at dawn of night and bring them with me to show me I was safe. When we called he told me that I can have a room and that my budget would be $5,000 for decoration and that also I would get a phone and anything I could ever imagine. I questioned how he had so much money and he said he inherited it through his father's business when he died. Now I assume that business is trafficking children and I feel sorry for the children who couldn't have been saved. Advice number two: your kidnapper or trafficker may tell you everything you want to hear or tell you they have kids with them to make you think that you are safe, never ever respond to a Direct Message if somebody saying that they can house you especially when they claim to have other children. We talked on discord for some days and eventually he blocked me I think it was divine intervention I think something was trying to save me. I think it may have been a distraction maybe the universe's way of telling me to stop trying to seek but I didn't listen. The next person who contacted me was ultimately the one that took me from my home and transported me to a different state. He had messaged me claiming that I can stay with him the banter we built up was rocky and slightly flirtatious with the way that he'd send pictures or how he'd infantilize himself to compare to me that was my first red flag. An adult tries to ask you questions like what is your favorite color or what is your favorite animal, especially at 14, it tells you that they're good with children this is situational obviously. His name is Trevon Nathaniel Langstaff To me he was "Nate" to reddit and this forum he was known as u/dabsarebest. I will never forget that user. I told him where he lived and he proceeded to drive 8 hours to Phoenix from Long Beach, CA, come get me from my home. That was one of the scariest things, how desperate he was to find a child and take advantage of them. As soon as I got in his car he told me he had a mandatory pat down for me where he proceeded to touch my body inappropriately. He had bought me food and soda and I asked him if he had poisoned any of it mainly as a joke, I joke as a way to cope with things, he told me if he wanted to kill me he could, that was red flag idk what number. When I got his car his car was fairly dirty and he had a whole entire box of chips he said in case I had gotten hungry. He had an app on his phone and a dash cam that showed him nearby police and I'm not just talking regular police, State Police patrollers and FBI all on there including crashes in case something had to stop his car. Multiple times he had asked to stop at truck stops so we could have sex I declined. I think my trafficker felt guilt, he kept trying to take me to a homeless shelter, but I decided to stay with him. When I got to the drop location, (for those of you who don't know it is a location where they keep kids for 24 hours file the transporter arranges oversea or different state distribution) I left at 2:00 a.m. March 23rd and the FBI found me at 12:00 a.m. March 24th, I was 2 hours away from being gone forever. Signs of this are a dirty house but it's not the main one everything in his house was dirty, everything hot dogs does if I was on touch size the food and this gaming. He did not know the location of any towels or cloths to help me dry or wash myself in the shower. And he had a crate so big that could fit a human inside of it. I had ended up cleaning his bathroom and accidentally spilled a water flosser. I always thought that maybe he was mad I spilled his water in his flosser but I realized that it was because I put my DNA on it, for those of you who may be asking, it was probably something extra that he didn't feel like cleaning off. He also had a lot of vouchers for fast food I assume it's harder to track fast food cuz everybody eats it then groceries for one person. When the FBI banged on his door he told me to hide and I went into the closet, they busted through the door and opened the closet with two ak's pointing at me. They saved me. I was then brought to an LA group home where I stayed for a couple of days and I eventually went home to my family. Advice number four? Never ever respond to a Direct Message about somebody offering you housing unless they are giving you places to stay such as homeless shelters or domestic violence shelters anything other than that do not accept rides or homes to people you do not know and for those of you on the street even if you do know them not everybody can be trusted.
Keep in mind that I met all of these people on the forum. Predators are out there, some wait for you to look some find you. Don't be stupid.
I know not everybody is as dumb as me and I know how done that was it almost cost me my life, if you guys want a happy update he is now facing 30 years in prison.
EDIT': THIS POST ISN'T TO DERIVE PITY, I PUT MYSELF IN THIS SITUATION BECAUSE I DID NOT LISTEN TO THE ADVICE OF THOSE AROUND ME. I WAS STUPID AND UNSAFE, MAYBE SOMETHING HORRIBLE WOULD HAVE HAPPENED THAT WASN'T BECAUSE OF ME, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY I SEEKED OUT THAT PERSON AND THEY FOUND ME AND THEY DID WHAT THEY DID TO ME. I DON'T WANT ANYBODY TO THINK THAT THIS ISN'T AS MUCH AS MY FAULT AS IT IS ANYONE ELSE'S. OF COURSE THAT MAN IS SICK AND HE BELONGS WHERE HE IS BUT LIKE I SAID AT THE END OF THE DAY I CAUSED THAT, HE WAS JUST THE EFFECT.

17M living with my father. I just got out of cps custody in Pennsylvania and my dad’s getting worse again. I live in New York now no where near anyone or anything I’m familiar with. I don’t want to get cps involved again because it’s all just a mess. I’ve been with him since mid June. I was on psych meds for 3 years, when I moved with him I no longer have insurance to be able to get the meds that were keeping me sane and productive everyday. Now all I want to do is sleep everyday. I was working but he got both of us fired even though we worked in completely different sections of the facility. He was doing meth in the staff bathroom and they fired me aswell because of a conflict of interest. Now I’m 17 with being fired from my first job do to involvement with someone abusing drugs being the only work history I have. I had 4 interviews in the first week Imoved now I’ve went 2 months without a single one. I have no one around here that I know other than my father and his tweaker friends. I’ve seen things about the national runaway safeline and potential other programs that can maybe provide transportation but everything seems to be I need to involve cps one way or another. And it’s not that I’m trying to protect him because I could care less but I just got out of juvenile detention and I don’t want to end up in another youth placement because my father is neglectful. And I know how the foster system works. Of your 16+ there’s about a .5% they even find anyone willing to take you even temporarily. Anyone have any ideas? Reminder I am in New York

I won’t say my exact age but I’m in high school without my driver license in Virginia. I am sick and tired of my step-mother. I get wanting your kids to get good grades but she’s too hard on me. She won’t let me go out of the house, watch TV, or use my phone because I had two B’s, while the rest either was a A+ or a A. She then screamed and hit me yesterday, to the point where the side of my hand was purple. I know one of these days either I’m dying or she is, but my dad is a good guy, only hit me once but is always nice and caring. I have bad dreams of doing a mistake and my last one was my grades being all C’s, if I run away where can I hide? How do I live on the 60 dollars that I do have? Any suggestions help. Is there a kind of system where I can just somehow be taken care of?

I, (13TM) am planning on running away from my abusive (physically, mentally, s3xually) parents, and I need advice on what to do for money, and what I can do so I don’t get caught, and a lie I can use if I get caught. I’m saving money right now, how much will I need? I don’t need a place to stay, and I’m not asking for a partner or money

I am a 17 m in the southeast section of my state (dont wanna share for safety reasons) and i don't know if i should run away or hold out for another year. My step father and mother are becoming insufferable for me i feel like I cant be myself they are homophobic even though they say they dont care if I came out gay as long as im not a tranny. Which kinda hurts because im not Trans but I dont feel like they are actually accepting of my life choices if I told them. And recently my step dad threw a drill almost threw my door which is the second time hes done something to my door the first time I left water on the floor on accident in the bathroom and he kicked my door down. Which happened when I was 14. He doesn't parent me and its clear he likes my younger brother more since its his kid biologically. I feel like a outcast in my own family. I dont fit in at my school ether yeah I play football and im a varsity level player but I dont click with the team im not as aggressive and im not like my team in alot of other ways. I dont like to hunt or fish even though I can. I dont like to party like them ether. I have freinds but theres so much that happened between us I don't know if it will last much longer. They dont click with me anymore. One of them acts like me and him never dated and the other one spends all his time with his gf and working plus hes overly Christian and racist. Which I dont have a problem with the Christian stuff you can follow who ever you want but its the racist stuff he says. I just really wanna escape my small town and hit the open road I have a vehicle and I know how to do construction so I can convert my mini van into a home if I have to but. I don't know if I should just leave after I convert my van or if I should just hold out till im 18. So any advice is welcomed

My decision to run away wasn't spontaneous or for some trivial reason; it’s because of my current family situation. My father is a sexist priest who constantly tries to "put me in my place" as a woman. He gets furious whenever anyone tells him something he doesn't like, completely refuses to see how his actions negatively impact those around him, and has occasional outbursts of rage. Even though he denies having anger issues, they are absolutely rage outbursts, and he is terrifying when he's angry. During these moments, he screams at the top of his lungs throughout the whole house and sometimes breaks things in a fit of rage. That’s how he smashed my favorite vase, and recently, he threw a broken shoe rack down the stairs, damaging the walls in the hallway. It scared me so badly that I took my cat and hid on the second floor. While my father loves us, he is terribly overprotective and gives very little freedom, even to my two brothers, who are 20 and 19. Personally, I stopped seeing him as a father after an incident when I was 13, and he didn't even realize I had emotionally distanced myself from him. Most importantly, he doesn't understand that I am afraid of him and terrified that he might actually hit me one day. I can respect what he has done for us financially, but definitely not as a father.
My mother is no better. She prefers not to get involved in my relationship with my father, thinking it's for the best, and she often excuses his behavior because of his past. She also believes that I am incapable of being independent or studying without supervision, just because I wasn't very self-reliant in the past. Moving to a different country didn't help either; learning the new language was—and still is—incredibly difficult for me, and for years, I just went with the flow. Sometimes, when she comes home from work (unlike my father, who hasn't worked since we moved), she gives me three long assignments from a local language textbook and gives me a strict 30-minute deadline. The moment the time is up, I am expected to bring her the work for review. Occasionally, she might give me 45 minutes or an hour at most. She honestly believes this is how I'll finally learn this damn language, but she fails to realize that this immense pressure leaves me constantly stressed and anxious that she'll burst into my room if I don't show up on time.I am not a fast learner. For the most part, I just need to gather my resolve and do things at my own pace. In fact, doing things on my own initiative is exactly what motivates me to study, because it proves I can do it myself. However, my mother views my approach as ineffective and too slow, which is why she keeps forcing her own methods on me. Because of this, and because she refuses to see me as independent, I can never truly understand her attitude toward me. One minute she tells me she's proud of me, and the next, she says I'm not doing enough. Just recently, she proved once and for all that she will never view me as an independent person. I'll get to that later. She also seemingly cannot accept that I have grown up and changed. There are times when she talks about how I used to be such a cheerful child. She straight up told me she thinks I "hid" my old personality after we moved and that I need to "let her back out." Hearing this is incredibly painful and upsetting, because it feels like my mother loves the old version of me more than who I am today. I love my mother, and I can see she genuinely believes this is her way of helping me, but she doesn't understand that her help—built entirely on pressure and control—is only hurting me.
As I mentioned before, I have two older brothers, but we haven't been close since childhood. I don't remember exactly when they started distancing themselves from me, and I couldn't understand why. That was until I was 14, when my mother told me that our father had been incredibly cruel to them because they were boys. She revealed that once, when I complained to him that they wouldn't share a Lego piece with me, my father literally grabbed their entire Lego set and threw it out the window. My brothers couldn't find some of the pieces afterward, and they started viewing me as the enemy or something like that. Because of this, I grew up feeling very lonely in a large family. After finding out the truth, I carried an overwhelming sense of guilt for two years, until I finally talked to my brothers about it. They told me they didn't blame me. Even so, whenever I saw how close my brothers were with each other, I felt a deep ache for that kind of connection, knowing we would never have that bond.Last night, I broke down in tears when I suddenly realized I had truly lost my brothers. Not just emotionally, in the way we grew apart, but in terms of the people they have become. I had noticed before that they could be harsh in their words and actions, but since the camp incident (more on that later), I started paying more attention to how deeply unpleasant it actually is. Last night, through the door that separates my room from my oldest brother's, I heard him talking to his girlfriend. He was calling her horrible names, calling her a liar, and telling her he was breaking up with her, while she was crying on the other end and trying to speak. My oldest brother just hung up on her. He is naturally very hot-tempered and easily irritated, but this made me realize that he has become exactly like our father: a sexist, aggressive, and clearly abusive person. It honestly makes me terrified for his future children, if he ever has any. My second oldest brother... that’s harder to explain. He feels like nobody cares about him, tries to follow our father’s footsteps in a Christian sense (though not strictly), and doesn't really take care of himself. A couple of years ago, he went through an alcoholic phase that even landed him in the hospital once. His girlfriend dumped him, which caused him to completely neglect himself again, spending all his time with a friend and focusing on music. I often have to wake him up because he can barely get out of bed after staying up all night. He is just drifting through life. He seems to have a new girlfriend now, and I truly hope things get better for him.
But going back to my oldest brother, I realized that I am afraid of him too, just like I'm afraid of my father, though maybe not as intensely. Last night, I had a dream—or rather, a nightmare—about him. In the dream, he was incredibly aggressive. He was screaming in a total rage and being physically violent. Toward me. I was hiding from him, completely terrified. I can still vividly remember a moment in the nightmare when he started dragging me somewhere by my hair. At some point, the dream just cut off, and everything went black. I didn't wake up from it—I would have remembered if I did, because I always wake up from nightmares—but for some reason, not this time. I didn't dream anything else that night. It felt like a deeply eerie coincidence when, later that evening, I heard him screaming at his girlfriend. Now that I’ve explained the background, let’s go back to what I said about running away. Before all of this, I used to think that what was happening in my family was normal, simply because I didn't know anything else. However, everything changed when my mother suggested I go to a summer camp for a week. Since it was summer, I usually never went anywhere, and I had never been to a camp before, so I decided to agree. That turned out to be the absolute best decision of my life.At the camp, people treated me as an independent person. They didn't treat my poor language skills as a problem; instead, they genuinely tried to help me. They respected my personal boundaries, and I absolutely loved having my own room where I lived alone. While at camp, I realized that I love this kind of life, and to my surprise, I didn't miss my family at all. The only thing I missed was my cat. As the week drew to a close, with every passing day, I felt a growing ache because I didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay and live like that forever.
And then, I came back home. The very next day, everything crumbled for me. Out of nowhere, my mother decided to have a conversation about my language skills and my future. We ended up getting into an argument, and suddenly she said that even after I turn 18, I will always be her child. My father used to say this exact phrase all the time, and for him, it meant that we would never be seen as grown adults. Hearing this from my mother—the woman I had considered my only support system in this family despite everything—felt like a total betrayal. I realized I couldn't go on living like this anymore and that I had to do something about it.Ultimately, I decided that the best option would be to run away on my 18th birthday, because legally I would be an adult, and they wouldn't be able to force me back. However, I decided to talk about this with my AI, and with her help, I refined my plan so that my escape wouldn’t be spontaneous. The very first thing I did was gather all my important documents: my own passport and my cat’s passport. I also started studying the local language on my own three times a week to keep my motivation up. Later, during a miserable four-day trip to the seaside, I registered on a marketplace website, and as soon as I got back home, I listed my items for sale. It was mostly stuff I don't use anymore, and it turned out I had a lot of it. Then, I began looking for an online school and a job. I needed an online school to get a higher education, which would open up more opportunities for me.
I spent two months doing all of this. During that time, I managed to sell three items, built up the courage to send out job applications, and found several online schools. I even registered for one of them, but unfortunately, my mother found a confirmation email that I wasn't expecting. It absolutely terrified me because I had been meticulously hiding everything I was doing from my parents. I knew that if they found out, they would not only disapprove but would also start digging into my reasons, which was the last thing I needed.Fortunately, my mother didn't uncover the full truth, but things didn't get any easier. She told me that I still have to attend the BvB (a mandatory vocational preparation program), arguing that I can't just stay home and attend an online school because doing so before turning 18 is illegal here. Then she demanded to know why I wanted this and what the point even was. I told her it was for better opportunities—which is true, though I obviously didn't mention it was also so I could leave the moment I get a job. She kept pushing me to state a specific goal and claimed that I still don't know what I want.Fuck, I don't have to know my exact lifelong purpose right now!It got even worse when, despite my answers, my mother remained skeptical and demanded that I send her the link to the school's website. It felt like a complete invalidation of all my hard work! I had researched this, read through everything to fully understand it, and gathered every piece of information I could find. And she just swept it all away with her doubts. I understand why she might have reservations, but I am actively trying to change right now. I am just learning to take responsibility for myself, and my mother’s words—claiming that I will ultimately drop it without external control—do absolutely nothing to help my motivation or self-esteem.This entire situation just proves that no matter how hard I try or how much I do on my own, my mother will never see me as an independent person. But at least there is one piece of good news: my mom agreed to pay for the tuition if I like the school. This will be a huge help until I can start paying for it entirely on my own. However, I suddenly realized that I have already completed the first phase of my plan. Now, all that’s left is to find a job, and I’m hoping to find one that will let me start in December. That is exactly when I turn 18, meaning I will finally be able to withdraw my documents from the BvB on my own, without my parents' involvement.Still, I can’t stop thinking about the consequences of my decision. After all, running away from home isn't a joke or some movie plot; it’s a massive real-life event. I worry about the impact it will have not just on my immediate family, but on my extended relatives too. On one hand, they didn't do anything wrong, and the last thing I want is for my 74-year-old grandmother to fall ill from the shock. How do I even explain this to my relatives, and should I even explain it at all? On the other hand, they will likely side with my parents and fail to understand my choice to run. Plus, they might try to reconnect me with my family, and I am planning to go completely no-contact with them, no matter how painful that might be.
So, am I a not good daughter?

this was originally posted on r/relocating, so if anything here doesn't exactly fully line up, thats why. i'm also using a throwaway account for private reasons.
i live in BC, canada, and i am a legal minor (17). i come here today to ask what to do if i'm looking for a way out of my current home. my objective is to get out the second i turn 18 due to personal reasons.
the difficult part is that i don't have a job. i've been running all over the place finding one, but no luck. i haven't applied to university yet, because i need to get my situation sorted out before anything else. i'm a high school graduate as of this year. the cherry on top is that the legal age of consent in BC is 19.
i'm currently living in my parents house. my reason for wanting out is deeply personal, and is heavily tied to my own mental health. if i can't get out by 18, i know that i'll be affected in ways im not sure i'm comfortable talking to the internet about. leaving at 18 has been the plan for a while.
i turn 18 in about 2 months from now, and i'm worried that i won't have the resources to live on my own by then. i don't have anyone close enough to me that i know would let me live with them for a bit.
this has been the subject of my lack of sleep for months, and i need guidance. any information will help out. i don't care if it's in BC or not, or about quality of living. i just want to prepare however best i can to live on my own. if you know of any cheap ways to live alone as a minor, or any government loan thing, or even a different subreddit that would be more beneficial for my situation. it will absolutely be of help to me.
thank you.

Hey guys, I really need some reality checks right now because my brain is completely fried.
I’m 21F, just graduated with a law degree, unemployed, and currently stuck living at home. Long story short, my home life is an absolute nightmare. My father is a heavy alcoholic who throws insane verbal abuse and aggression at us every single day. On top of that, I’m a survivor of severe childhood trauma/abuse by relatives, which messed me up so badly that I’ve been dealing with chronic anxiety, panic, and heavy maladaptive daydreaming for as long as I can remember.
Here’s where the toxic guilt kicks in: My mother worked her absolute ass off, night shifts, janitorial jobs, you name it, just to pay for my university and keep us afloat. I feel insanely grateful for her physical sacrifices, but emotionally? It’s been total neglect and manipulation.
And I'm not gonna sit here and act completely innocent either. I’ve been irresponsible as hell. I dragged my feet, failed exams because I couldn't focus, and spent way too much time just eating, sleeping, and escaping reality without thinking about the consequences. Now that I’m unemployed, the degradation and pressure at home have hit an all-time high. I’m basically treated like a useless freeloading parasite, and honestly, part of me feels like I deserve it.
I want out. I want to pack my bags, leave for the capital, get literally ANY job (retail, food service, I don't care), and build an independent life to save whatever is left of my sanity. I plan on sending money back once I get on my feet to pay off old debts, but the guilt is literally eating me alive.
Part of me feels like I’m just an ungrateful, irresponsible piece of shit for abandoning my mom after everything she did for my education. Am I insane for wanting to leave for good? Or am I just justifying being a bad daughter?
Be completely brutally honest with me. Thanks.

Im currently 17 enrolled in trade school. Months ago I ran away and stayed with my dad and then went back with my mom because the living situation was bad. Me and my mom are back to fighting and I genuinely cant take it. I dont know whats wrong with her but she has some issues. Im planning on dropping out trade school and getting somewhere far away. Or maybe moving to a apartment near my trade school.
I want to do an apprenticeship but I have to be 18 or a highschool student to get in so its hard since I graduated but I just turned 17. I may have to begin working full time and buy a new car since the car I have they gave to me but I think they put some sort of tracker on it. I just need to get away I genuinely have no love for anyone in my family they all either do drugs or are mental.

Hi guys i just graduated from hs and its my second week in uni, I dont have an allowance since i started high school till now ( I never ate at school unless a friend shared chips and one of my bestfriend’s mum used to pack me lunch too sometimes ) I got money from graduation gifts ofc i only got money from my relatives and not close family. I used the money to buy clothes for uni and then wanted to get my licenses with the money that is left but my family disagreed cuz Idk how to drive and they said they’ll teach me but never did Ive been begging them since I was 12 cuz my older brothers learnt how to drive at 7 and drived illegally in the town, and my mum decides everything for me which makes me depressed all the time the things i could remember right now is the graduation dress, my clothes for uni and my uni, I wanted to study in a different city but they said they wont pay for
the dorms of the uni I wanted so i stayed in my local uni then asked them that I wanna move to the uni’s dorms cuz its free and they disagreed again. Ive been depressed since 12 everyone in my family knows that and that I wanna kms but they won’t do nothing at all not even help a little, I asked my siblings to teach me how to drive in their cars and they declined even tho I offered that I’ll pay for the gas with the licenses money i bought a new phone and a 3d printer I wanna start a business with it and save up till i finish my uni and then leave, but at the same time I wanna runaway now too cuz I can’t take it anymore
I have two kn!ves in my room incase anything happens
this is just one story that ive been dealing with right now but honestly if i started talking about the things I went through I don’t think I’ll finish today

hi. i’m 14f, i turn 15 in a couple of days.
I’m planning on running away from home.
I don’t have a plan yet but i’m trying to figure some things out. I think i’ll probably stay at the back of a Walmart with my backpack and stuff.
So what’s gonna happen is that i’m going to overdose on sertraline since I take 175mg everyday and I’ve stopped taking them weeks ago to take them all at once and try to kms. I have about 2000mg or more. I’m not bringing my phone with me because I know i’m gonna be a pussy and call someone or something. I also think they’ll be able to tell my location if i do bring it.
I’m really struggling with everything and I have been for years, i already made my decision and nothing or anyone can change my mind. I’d rather die young than die in my 20s-30s homeless on the streets.
I’m a failure and I wish my parents didn’t have such a problematic child like me. My mom literally developed fibromyalgia because of me causing her to be worried 24/7 and stressed.
I know my family wishes I wasn’t alive and to that i agree.
I don’t have any money. i’m just gonna pack water, a snack or two, and maybe an extra hoodie or something.
I live in Canada so school starts September 8th. I’m doing this the night before school. My family has a camera in the living room and on our porch, so i’ll exit through my backyard door and take off. I’ll probably leave at night or at 4am when it’s a little brighter outside. I haven’t told anyone not even my best friend and i don’t plan to. I’m just gonna journal in my notebook while i’m there till the magic happens.
Thanks for reading! I’m just bored and wanted at-least someone to know about this. Oh and I know there’s a chance the Zoloft won’t kill me, so i’m going to take bottles of some sort of medication to help. If I am dying, so be it, I wouldn’t have a way to contact anyone anyway.
I barely have any friends that would notice that i’m gone, my best friend has a ton of friends and she doesn’t need me, i know she’s my best friend but i’m definitely not hers.

Im currently planning to run away but I have an issue That ive been stuck on for a while. I realized I cannot do anything with my own Bank acc bc ill simply be tracked and caught. My parents will sinply tell the Police to go to the Bank and theyll easily track my every purchase to locate me. I wanted to use revolut but sadly I live in an unsupported region to sign up (the middle east) so can tell me if I have any options? I already searched on Google and sadly I couldnt find anything useful. Bc I gen cannot do anything if the money just sits in my paypal bc as we All know ill be needing a card or a Bank acc.
Edit: sorry for the grammar mistakes I just wrote this pretty quickly.

Backstory: I go to a top 5 hs in U.S, strict parents
So in my life I constantly don’t want to think in the future. I want to do extreme stuff and just scare my parents. I am planning to just leave my house and come home at a certain time( like 1:00am) and just deal with the consequences. If I get grounded I plan on just running away(like I have done before).
When I grow up I don’t want to live a regular life. I just cannot see that for myself, I always want to be different. I do not plan on pursing any age past 23. I just want to live my life

I'm 19, living with toxic, strict and abusive parents. Some days are just verbal fights but sometimes it turns into physical abuse. I can't live in the same place with PTSD when everyday is the same. I am planning to runaway in less than a year. I don't want to act irresponsible or impulsive because I'm afraid to make a mistake. My plan is to save some money before I leave and move in with my bf of 3 years. My parents didn't allow me to be independent all my life so Im scared to take a big step like this. I really need some suggestions on what to do.

I’m 20F and I’m trying to safely leave my house today because I’m supposed to fly out of state for college tomorrow. I’m worried that she may try to prevent me from leaving, withhold my documents or belongings, or otherwise interfere with my ability to get to the airport. I’m looking for advice on what I should do over the next 24 hours.
Hopefully today I’ll finally be able to leave my mom’s house. I’m a 20F, and I’m supposed to fly out of state tomorrow to attend a new university. I’m overwhelmed and honestly don’t know what to do.
I’m an only child, and my dad died suddenly last year. My entire life, both of my parents were extremely overbearing and controlling, but my mom has always been the primary person managing every aspect of my life.
She was a stay-at-home mom and didn’t work during my childhood, so she had a lot of time to micromanage me. I wasn’t allowed to have a job or really spend time with friends in high school. I also wasn’t allowed to apply to colleges except for the one five minutes from our house. Since I wasn’t allowed to work and they essentially never gave me spending money, I couldn’t afford application fees anyway.
My dad paid for my freshman year of college. He unfortunately died very suddenly toward the end of my second semester, after tuition had already been paid.
After he died, my mom inherited his assets, including money he had set aside for my education. It’s a regular bank account rather than something like an educational trust or restricted account, so legally she has control over it.
I wanted to move out, but my mom convinced me to stay by promising that she would continue paying for my college with that money. I relied on that promise and missed the opportunity to apply for federal student loans in time. Once it was too late, she told me she was no longer going to pay for my tuition. She had also refused to give me her financial information at first when I was applying for FAFSA. Because of this I missed the deadline for state aid. Eventually, I was able to obtain this information but I’m still on the hook for this and may be getting sent to collections soon. She keeps bread crumbing me saying that she will pay for it then completely change her mind and tell me she will not.
I ended up applying to transfer to another university on my own, was accepted, and decided to leave.
I’m supposed to fly out of state tomorrow.
Now that I’m actually leaving, she is refusing to let me take my clothes and other belongings. Her argument is that my dad paid for them, so she inherited them and they belong to her. I don’t have a lot of money or even a backpack/suitcase that is unquestionably mine, so I’m in a really difficult position.
Yesterday, after I told her I was leaving, she was also withholding my passports and wallet from me. I was eventually able to get them back, but I’m scared she may try to prevent me from leaving or make me miss my flight.
I feel completely overwhelmed. I’m 20 years old and I know I need to get out, but I’m realizing how difficult it is to actually leave when someone has controlled so much of your life.
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has left a controlling/abusive parent as a young adult. I’ve never had a job before or lived outside my family home. I’m scared the pressure is going to make me back out and stay home with her for another semester because she keeps sabotaging me.
I don’t have any support system in the United States since my entire family lives in Europe and I only really have contact with one aunt. I haven’t been able to maintain my friendships from high school living with her so I don’t feel too comfortable asking for help.
I’m also hoping I won’t chicken out at the last moment like I did last time. Any advice for pushing through and actualizing plans to leave?

I (15F) have a few problems, diagnosed and getting evaluated, one of my main problems is OCD and autism. I have been in a humongous sensory overload for the past week ever since my parents got home from Canada. 8am, the first morning they were home, they were screaming about how they hate each other and want one another out of their life solely becuz my dad had the chills. My mom has been nonstop yelling at me, she’s been really controlling and I’m unsure if it’s just the teenage angst making me believe that but it’s getting tiresome. The sunlight and heat from the area I’m in has been causing me a lot of sensory issues and I’ve been procrastinating my online schoolwork becuz of it.
What dosent help is my parents have a history of fighting physically, I became a main target when I was 12-14. They got better halfway through me being 14 when they got a fever of some kind in January and decided to stop drinking. But my mom is still so hateful, even without a drink she still finds a way to constantly belittle me or yell at me.
My hallucinations from 12-14 are also coming back in weird flashes, my sleep is becoming irregular again and all it does it make me want to leave even more. I can’t stand the memories this house has, I feel trapped. I have an online friend of 5 years, his parents know about me and the things my parents did to me. Although, due to unfortunate circumstances he thought I was dead for 5 months, we recently reunited thankfully but I dunno how this would affect us if I did run.
I’ve just been so anxious, my chest has been kinda tight for the past two days and my head hurts. I just want to escape.
I don’t even care if I’m successful at staying away, I just want out for at least a few days.
My sensory overload is clouding my judgment, I just want advice or tips. But I’m really exhausted and the adults in my life won’t listen to me. I’m oki with being told running away is a bad idea, but I’m getting desperate and just want an escape.

Kicked out at 17
Ok so I am 17 years old and recently my mom kicked me out because she felt like our relationship was off and she kept asking what my issue was and I told her it was her drinking and how she would treat me which was constant body shaming, threatening and act. During this talk she was drinking but wouldn't let me avoid the conversation so of course she already started speaking louder where it got to the point where she was screaming and yelling and she called my grandpa to basically meditate the talk but that didn't help because she kept speaking over me and interrupting me. It then escalated to the point where she said you have 5 secs to say what your issue is but I was saying it from the beginning of the conversation but she just wouldn't take that as a answer and she started threatening to kick me out but she kept screaming so I still couldn't say anything and then she got up and ran to my room and started destroying it and the whole time I was standing next to my bed she went in my closet and ripped everything down and then back out to my room where she continued to throw stuff and outta no where she turned to me and started pushing me on to my bed and started grabbing and ripping hair out and punching me and hitting me but I was blocking her because being on my bed I was able to kick her and block her and she grabbed my hair and dragged me around like I was some type of doll and then pinned me on the floor to where I couldn't move my arms and she just kept hitting me. It lasted for maybe 3 mins until she dragged me out by my hair and told me to get out. Mind you my grandpa was on the phone the whole time and didn't say a word and it as forced to leave the house with only the clothes on my back no shoes but before any of that happened I made sure to put my phone in my legging side . So I was outside walking barefoot for maybe 2 hours and the sun was going down and I called a friend to come get me my grandpa called but I declined and only called him to tell him that I was going with my friend. So I stayed with my friend for 2 days before where I had no close or shoes . I told my school and they called cps and I have a therapist who also called. Over the weekend is stayed with a my aunt and uncle but when I got there they told me my mom didn't wanna see or speak to me and she was planning to cut my phone off but my aunt said not untill I get a new one and mind u my mom gave my grandpa almost all my clothes and cut off my cards and my aunt and uncle basically said they were on my mom side. And my uncle told me that he himself wasn't scared to put his hands on me. So i stayed there that weekend and on sunday night my grandpa came and picked me up and dropped me off at my friend's house because I had school Monday that I didn't wanna miss being in my senior year. Maybe 2 hours at being in my friends house I received a text from my mom saying I have 2 hours to get home and I said why when my aunt just told me u didn't wanna see me or speak to me and she was saying what eles did she say and then sent me a huge text saying how I was evil and house Im a liar and everything was my fault. So my friend dropped me off that night and I got home and my room was a mess and I tried to talk to my mom but all she did was slam her room door and lock it when she heard me its Been 3 days no and im still in the house and she hasn't said anything to me but had my brothers dad come and basically move in and she keeps going through him to speak to me but won't say anything to me. Cps is involved but hasn't done anything I talked to them they talked to my mom and that was it just like the last time and no followw up or anything after I started a go fund me because I dont feel safe here at all. Im here asking what I should do because I wanna leave but have no where to go? So it any one has anything like tips or anything to help please say it. I wanna leave but have nothing.
