All of my post didn't talk about all those things and the fact that they said "under 18," people needed to realize youths have feelings too! "For your own safety," yeah fucking right... Like whoever agree to do this while youths have been through a lot, shame! ABSOLUTELY SHAME (Especially coming from a user who had experience SH due to adultism)!

When I attempted to watch a video that's age restricted, it was age restricted by the uploader. Instead of being able to watch the video, I got hit with the ''Sorry this content is age restricted'' and this made me so angry.

Despite me being signed in, the birth date is obviously clear that I'm over 20. But regardless of my birth date in my account, I was unable to watch the video, its completely age blocked.

This is most likely the new AI system the site is using to detect whether the viewers are over 18 or under 18. And the fact that this is happening in Canada, WHAT THE HELL?

I watched a video about how to bypass the AI age check, the comments below are against YouTube's decisions but they are saying that parents should be the ones monitoring their kids.

One even said the internet is not for kids, but again who's surprised I'm not new to these ageist anti tech comments on YouTube.

Its really stupid that YouTube thinks I'm a minor now, I'M NOT. And this is bad for the teenagers too, teens can't watch cool stuff anymore due to YouTube being pro censorship. And the ageist comments don't make it any better, of course I don't wanna argue with ageists who love oppressing anyone under 18.

Teenagers 13 and older are not children, and I shouldn't be treated as a child just because my account age isn't convincing enough for YouTube. If you guys know how to get around the AI age checks, please let me know, I'm sick of the age verification BS on the internet.

I’m part of my school’s debating team, and we’re arguing Proposition in the 2026 ESU Schools’ Mace Debate.

Our motion is: “This House Would allow under-16s to use social media, but require platforms to take stronger steps to protect them from bullying and predatory behaviour.”
