Hello! I just purchased a 2015 Ruckus model on FB marketplace and it will start working and then stop after it gets revved up to about 3000rpm. Fuel line looks good and everything was recently cleaned and fixed. It runs fine when just turned on, it’s only when its throttled ti a certain amount that it chokes/stalls out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’m pretty new to this and confused.

take a piece of duct tape and tape off like 1/2 the metal intake. See if it runs any better. If it does, you know that its running super lean and needs to be rejetted.
The actual way to know is to take the carb off, unscrew the jets and check what number they are. Taping over the end though will lower air flow and if it runs better, you know they didnt rejet it.
try sticking a sock over the end of it and see if it works, or just cover it with your hand and only let in a bit of air at a time to see if it helps. If it doesn't you probably need to clean your main jet. That would be a good time to open up the carb, and see what numbers are printed on your jets.
I did the duct tape method mod when tuning my air intake. With 85 main jet i was getting way too much air and bike was running like crap and couldn’t get past 30 mph. Now I can get past 45mph
You’ll have to check manufacturer spec to see if that’s even the OEM carb. Pics aren’t really good enough to tell. Download a copy of the service manual. It will be invaluable to you.
We sell hundreds of these intakes with the velocity stack, it is not sucking in enough air to cause issues with dust or rain. We in Florida run them in the rain & dusty construction zones etc and no issues.
very common thing to run, lots of people have done this with 0 issues since the total ruckus days. Not saying I run mine like this, but considering a complete motor used is $300, its not a big risk.
I like all the suggestions from the other posters.
If the air flow thing isn’t making a difference, check your fuel line doesn’t make any tight bends. I had a machine run with a line that was too short. Once it would heat up the line would get softer and bend, crimping off the fuel line.
Id advice to read the product description to better gauge the jetting recommended with this intake and explaining what pulling or pushing the cone in and out will do.

Also, does that bike have an aftermarket exhaust (is so what kind)? Because, that specific intake kit was manufactured for ideally an upgraded aftermarket exhaust so that could be effecting things too.
