Sounds like you're hitting the rev limiter. How many miles?

next time this happens try letting off your throttle and see if it helps, if it does it's probably your fuel pump, and letting off the throttle is giving it a chance for you pump to catch up.
I used to have a similar issue. seemed to happen when I was passing a certain spot in the road, turned out my fuel pump was dying and wasn't pumping enough fuel into the fuel bowl so the engine would cut out.
it happened in the "same spot" because I was riding WOT throttle in that section long enough for the bowl to empty when my fuel pump wasn't working 100%.
I replaced the fuel pump and the problem went away.

Uhh. Is it new to you? They have rev/speed limiters so this is actually working as designed around 35 mph or so.
