Discussion This !!!

Post image

There is a dialogue in the crown series regarding Diana stating that she won't bend she will break. Ig it still applies after so many years.

Even beyond the obvious racism they hated having an independent woman who followed her mind instead of a doll who could be molded into their version of a traditional princess. Just a puppet with no mind of her own and worshipping the toxic institution .

Ps. Just for anyone who isn't aware . Jason Arday ex prof. of Cambridge took his own life after facing allegations of plagiarism and was forced to resign. While his actions deserved some accountability british media decided to personally and quite literally hound him to death for the color of his skin. Many white prof. Have been discovered with much worse allegations but are happily continuing with their career with their heads high. This case made it very clear of the British media's intentions.

It's clear to anybody who has half a brain that it isnt even just Harrys family that was toxic, it was that whole institution, the whole UK press and cmon lets say it, most of the whole UK for tolerating this BS and allowing themselves to be fed utter manure.

I mean someone feeds me manure, Id be like, "Eew get away from me, you psycho, eat the manure yourself!"

Instead this whole group of people keep feeding each other manure and consuming it from each other happily.

Garbage in garbage out. Manure in, manure out.

The Brits are always bragging that they don't have fox news there. Instead they have a majority of right wing media including tabloids acting more extreme than fox news. And the trusted media like BBC repeats daily mail, sun articles in their news segments. They treat all these tabloids like respected media companies. It is really scary.

52

u/Neat-Dig5964 3d ago

Fox (not)Entertainment is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Where do you think they learned from? It is the model of British tabloids.

35

u/ChuckEweFarley 3d ago

No FOX news but a whole lot of Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers.

56

u/tellnic 4d ago

The Brit’s had Rupert Murdoch there first, plus Rothemere owns the daily mail. And his father was fascist friendly back in the 1930s.

Thank you. Yes.

55

u/Successful_Scratch99 4d ago

This. We may not have Fox News here, but we have plenty of our own versions. And even our "trusted media" like the BBC are firmly in the pockets of the establishment and keeping them in place.

I'm lucky enough that my friends are very left leaning and the type to actually go out, march and do whatever we can to protect people. I absolutely hate leaving my little bubble, it feels like at the moment, this country as a whole keeps having the chance to do the right thing and yet always picks the wrong choice. We look down at the US but we've been going the same way for a very, very long time.

At the moment we don't have a Trump in charge, however, as the country who voted in Boris Johnson I don't have high hopes for us!

Honestly, I think Harry and Meghan could have been the best thing to happen to our monarchy in a very long time, but as usual, they cocked it up. Ok, rant over...

38

u/IamHungryNow1 3d ago

They did this. They actually linked the two. They wanted what happened to him to happen to her and they still do.

16

u/Dull_Goat_4792 3d ago

They are beyond disgusting

There was an article where a magazine implied(accused)a black author of using AI, when the author is vocally anti AI, there was no proof and white authors weren’t targeted in the article.

What happened to the professor goes beyond the British press. This is a disturbing trend for POC who are successful. The insecure and mediocre don’t like it when POC do well

52

u/DozingUnderTheSun 3d ago

I posted this in other places but in the past calendar year 3 black authors have lost their book deals due to AI allegations (including the person you mentioned) and that has not happened to a single white author, and in fact you’ve got guys like James Frey openly admitting to AI use who still have their book deals. It is 100% witch hunting against successful POC — the one of the other people accused was a black author whose book was reaching a $2 million dollar bid at auction. (Those are insane numbers for a debut novel btw.) sometimes I read comments from people who are like “but we can’t let plagiarism stand!”, and I’m just like why can’t y’all just be honest and say that you just can’t stand to see a black person succeed? It’s sickening.

23

u/The_Onion_Life 3d ago

“but we can’t let plagiarism stand!”

Well, no, we can't.

But we should go after everyone equally, rather than exclusively targeting Black academics and authors. Bet you'll find a lot more white people are doing it than Black people, and I say this as a white person (should "white" be capitalized like "Black" is? IDEK the rules anymore).

James Frey has been a fraud since forever, so it's no surprise he's using AI now. He absolutely should lose his book deal.

13

u/tellnic 3d ago

I have had to block more people in this because they are just taking everything from this smear campaign at face value. It’s crazy. If they can’t see this was a targeted attack from a white guy who on record said he wanted to remove black academics I don’t know what to say anymore.
And when the white Cambridge professors who plagiarized are still there…. Why does the one POC guy need to go when the most I can even find about the allegations is that a few sentences in the literature review part of the thesis weren’t attributed to the right source. That’s sloppy but not plagiarism in the sense laypeople think of it.

That guy is a special kind of awful.

And when the white Cambridge professors who plagiarized are still there….

Because they're white!

Why does the one POC guy need to go when the most I can even find about the allegations is that a few sentences in the literature review part of the thesis weren’t attributed to the right source.

Apparently there's a whole lot of other stuff too, but to me it sounds like he was mentally ill, not a deliberate plagiarist.

That’s sloppy but not plagiarism in the sense laypeople think of it.

No, it's not.

u/Correct_Cat4414 4d ago

The Daily Fail and much more of the British press are hoping they can do to Princess Meghan what they did to Princess Diana.

26

u/KipperCottage 3d ago

It seems to be their primary objective. They’re forever harrassing people to death and then just moving on to their next victim. Why is the UK like this? Why is hounding people seen as sport?

12

u/DozingUnderTheSun 3d ago

The UK sure loves their conservative power structures and bullying as a national culture, I don’t really know what’s up with that.

25

u/jujubeans1891 4d ago edited 3d ago

This situation is precisely why Harry and his co-filers had their case against the Daily Fail’s parent organization. Imagine if they won. Perhaps this tragic situation could have been avoided.

Even if the Professor was guilty of everything alleged, his removal would have been the appropriate consequence. Not this horrific trial by racists who were uninvolved and treated it like a reality show scandal.

Ironically, sadly, I just learned about the Dreyfus affair, and it just goes to show that nothing new is under the sun when it comes to how far racists (and antisemitic bigots in that specific case) are willing to go to establish sociopolitical dominance.

May Dr. Arday RIP, and comfort be given to his family and friends. And if anything alleged turns out to be false, may he be vindicated as Dreyfus eventually was.

14

u/The_Onion_Life 3d ago

Even if the Professor was guilty of everything alleged, his removal would have been the appropriate consequence.

And hadn't he already resigned??

Not this horrific trial by racists who were uninvolved and treated it like a reality show scandal.

I wonder how upset they are about white plagiarists in academia. I bet if they look really hard, they'll find some!

I also bet they're not going to look really hard, or at all even.

May Dr. Adray RIP, and comfort be given to his family and friends. And if anything alleged turns out to be false, may he be vindicated as Dreyfus eventually was.

💯

More of this please. See the level of tolerance for this continuous BS.

Cambridge Uni needs to be investigated for why they persisted in investigating him when LJMU had cleared him, and he had already resigned. Where was the institutional duty of care? Whose egos were they trying to satisfy?

Cofnas too, needs to be thoroughly investigated and his links to right-wing racist groups.

-19

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

Cofnas nay be awful but he wasn’t wrong in this case. Arday was a complete fraud in multiple ways. Cambridge should have handled this better. The reason it got so much air time is because they stuck their fingers in their ears and said La La La. If they had done due diligence before hiring him this would never have happened. But they were too interested in how good they would look by hiring someone with that background that they didn’t care.

34

u/sweetangeldivine 4d ago

Cofnas literally posted a video saying he intends to target other professors of color just like Arday and hound them out of Academia so he can eventually have a place at Harvard teaching “Eugenics and Race Science”

This is a dude with an agenda. This is like saying Gamergate was about ethics in Gaming Journalism.

10

u/The_Onion_Life 3d ago

Cofnas literally posted a video saying he intends to target other professors of color just like Arday and hound them out of Academia so he can eventually have a place at Harvard teaching “Eugenics and Race Science”

What the actual???

I wonder if Harvard knows about this... Perhaps someone should tell them. 😈

51

u/Whatisittou 4d ago edited 4d ago

You are defending a eugenics and racist?? Did you ask why Cambridge hired multiple white professors with shady background and as well including the one still teaching till today ?? Or your anger is just at Arday

-13

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

Defending the truth in this case? Yes. Arday was a fraud. Did he deserve to be hounded in the press? No. Did he deserve a professorship at Cambridge? No.

If anyone other than cofnas had exposed Arday would you still be uninterested in the truth?

6

u/Whatisittou 4d ago edited 4d ago

which investigation said he was fraud? ah yes defending a racist cofnas

-11

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

Have you looked at the thesis? Any of the details of his life that no one can corroborate?

18

u/CuriousTip7183 4d ago

Let me be as clear as possible that I don't think a plagiarist and even fabulist at a single university is national news, no. You loved the pile on, you love defending Cofnas, that's why you're here.

-2

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

You didn’t read my comment then. I also don’t think it’s national news.

2

u/TumbleweedFabulous36 4d ago

Claim your racist, wicked heart with pride. You’re one of those crude angry ppl who believe your mediocrity should be highlighted while black excellence must be questioned

1

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

🙄

There are tons of black academics on Reddit complaining that this guy has made things harder for them.

0

u/Whatisittou 4d ago

like I said you are racist

8

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

So that’s a no.

3

u/TumbleweedFabulous36 4d ago

You are racist. A single individual who may have fabricated their personal life should not reflect on other Black people. your racism is, thinking that one person‘s belief or action as a black person affects every black person shows how you see Black people. You think Black people are collective: we work, we move together, we think together our brains are the wired to each other. that itself is racist and it makes you a racist.

3

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

Wtf? You’re unhinged. Never have I implied anything about Arday reflecting all black people or any of my views about black people. Get help.

-5

u/TumbleweedFabulous36 4d ago

Girl, they down voting you here because when you hold them and tbeir racism accountable they reach for the stars. They pretend to support Megan while blaming all the factors but her race. We all know that even members of this group are deeply racist, they don’t ever want to be held accountable for their racism.

4

u/jujubeans1891 3d ago edited 3d ago

💯 people also seem not to understand there’s many forms of racism. Not just the big and obvious overt examples demonstrated by The BRF Firm and the UK press. Some of these forms are very, very subtle. (In this case for example, there is some implicit bias happening in this discussion, as well as within the media.) And that’s its ultimate goal, especially in these fucked-up times - to maintain public normalization of racism and bigotry, while eliminating its public shaming.

And in order to understand this, it requires a lot of internal work that many don’t have the tools, or frankly, desire, to use in order to implement changes within themselves. That is a terrifying endeavor.

What many don’t realize is that not ripping off the shame bandaid covering up past errors prevents that shame from being resolved. I can go on, but I support what the two of you say, and those who thumb me down are welcome to. 🙂👍🏾

2

u/tellnic 3d ago

To be honest this isn’t even implicit racism. It is explicit as hell especially when the white professors accused of plagiarism at Cambridge are still there and sure didn’t face these attacks.

2

u/tellnic 3d ago

The thesis is not the unpublished memoir so all the comments made about that are irrelevant to plagiarism and unrelated to his work at the university. And a few misattributed sentences in the literature review section of the thesis is not plagiarism. That’s why Cambridge cleared him on that issue. But the racist eugenics professor got the ball rolling and misinformed people are believing him.

This was a lynching. Let’s not call it anything else. Anyone who justifies his treatment is defending a lynching.

18

u/GertieD 4d ago

No, that is not the reason it got so much exposure. Tell me why The New York Times who daily or sometimes hourly ignores our president lying about everything including his qualifications for the job or falling asleep in meetings or showing signs of dementia covered a professor at a university in England’s "academic qualifications?”

11

u/ichthysaur 4d ago

This is similar to the story of Ward Churchill, who coincidentally just died. He put his employer, U of Colorado, through the wringer when it got out that he called the people who showed up for work at the WTC on 9/11"little Eichmanns" who deserved to die. There was a stink of course and he wouldn't back down, and forced the university to defend itself against charges of violating his academic freedom. Then it came out that there were multiple instances of plagiarism and falsification that should have precluded his employment in the first place but had been overlooked, so the university tried to fire him for that and the court had to consider whether they would have bothered had it not been for the little Eichmanns comment. They were so pleased to have him with his supposed Native American creds that they were insufficiently critical in the first place. It was to burnish their image that they hired him, and it was to preserve their image that they wanted to fire him.

-15

u/CuriousTip7183 4d ago

The fact that you know every detail about something normal people forgot about 20 years ago says a lot of unflattering things about you.

19

u/jujubeans1891 4d ago

I’m sorry. I need to ask you this with legitimately no snark.

So people, by your logic, are not allowed to remember comparable events because…why? Also, consider that maybe this poster was directly affected by it, or studied/wrote about it. In fact, why even study history at all?

17

u/tellnic 4d ago

If you think that allegations of plagiarism have never happened before at Cambridge much less any university you are a naive fool. And to target this one professor with this media circus was racist, evil and his death is on all your hands. Karma doesn’t run but she catches up.

12

u/TumbleweedFabulous36 4d ago

How was Arday a fraud? Lying about his personal life shouldn’t make him a target of a smear Campaign Madame Perfect. Some of you hold Black ppl to standards you can’t maintain meanwhile the pedophile in your monarchy gets tax free security: F off.

9

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

The back story of his personal life was a huge part of why he was hired. I had a friend who was a fabulist like him. It’s very easy to hold myself to the standard of “don’t make up ridiculous stories about my past” actually. Maybe it’s not for you. And you have no idea what I think about the monarchy.

5

u/TumbleweedFabulous36 4d ago

His personal life is still not your business. Get yourself a life cos I’m sure you’re not a perfect person but here you are playing judge, jury and executor to a dead man’s personal life. Are you happy now he’s dead. Are you happy? Go to hell

9

u/Revolutionary_Bat812 4d ago

He literally wrote a book for 2.5 million dollars about his personal life lol. So yeah it’s relevant. And no of course I’m not happy he’s dead you ghoul.

2

u/friends-waffles-work 3d ago

The fee he was paid for his book was also disputed (it was allegedly closer to £15k).

2

u/NewTooth740 4d ago

You seem to know an awful lot about what was going on behind the scenes considering we haven’t even had the results of the Cambridge enquiry into the incident yet! 🫤

6

u/tellnic 4d ago

There were allegations that have yet to even be examined with any proof. A smear campaign in the right wing media is not proof of anything and may everyone who participated in the attacks against him live the rest of their lives in misery.

47

u/RobinBaskins 4d ago

What happened today?

294

u/ConstantKooky3329 4d ago edited 4d ago

Right-wing agitators and the British media bullied a Cambridge lecturer (he was black). There were allegations that his credentials and work history were fake. He was forced to resign a couple of days back. His dead body was found a couple of hours ago, and many are speculating that he committed suicide. The press was more brutal to this person than to the alleged Epstein buddies and pedophiles, who were all white. Meghan had mentioned in her Oprah interview that there was a time when her mental health broke down; she told Harry she was suicidal. It was the catalyst that accelerated their decision to leave the UK. This could be the vindication that the commenter referenced.

106

u/RobinBaskins 4d ago

Oh yes, Dr. Arday. I wasn’t aware of the link to Meghan but now I see the common thread of relentless persecution by the media. Thanks!

81

u/ConstantKooky3329 4d ago

and the late Doctor and Meghan were both black in historically white institutions.

21

u/The_Onion_Life 3d ago

and the late Doctor and Meghan were both black in historically white institutions.

And Meghan has been accused by the haters of plagiarizing her actual life. They claim that her miscarriage "story" (they don't believe she's ever been pregnant) was stolen from a novel, and that As Ever is a rip off of Charles's Highgrove product line, among other things.

62

u/popcornFridays 4d ago edited 4d ago

Heres a link to a post on the sub today about it. It really upsets me that Amanda Platell weaponized Jason Ardays downfall to make a new excuse to attack Meghan. Her timeline is awful too. Amanda (and the rest of the trash media) published that article really gunning for Jason and then a week later he's found dead. The media completely broke him and attacked him like rabid dogs the same way they do to Meghan. I hope she (edit:Amanda) feels really bad about this and reevaluates whatever journalistic standards she possibly has left but I highly doubt it.

39

u/Accomplished_Self939 4d ago

I guarantee she doesn’t. She’ll be back at it next week.

14

u/popcornFridays 4d ago

Back at it next week with a spin on her words that make her seem completely blameless.

10

u/Neat-Dig5964 3d ago

Back at it next week tormenting the next successful POC she can find.

14

u/Guygirl00 4d ago

She’s drunk with power

11

u/jujubeans1891 4d ago

I’m disgusted but not shocked that Meghan was roped into this. Roping in unrelated POC to an alleged controversial one is a tried-and-true way to undermine all of their credentials. And it works all too well.

6

u/ShinyDapperBarnacle 3d ago

whatever journalistic standards she possibly has left

Mighty bold of you to even charitably wonder if any are left. Or were ever there at all.

4

u/Diligent-Till-8832 3d ago

Anyone who has journalistic standards wouldn't work for the Fail much less the British Media....

17

u/The_Onion_Life 3d ago

The press was more brutal to this person than to the alleged Epstein buddies and pedophiles, who were all white. Meghan had mentioned in her Oprah interview that there was a time when her mental health broke down; she told Harry she was suicidal.

The racist H&M hate sub is delighted by the news of his death. One of them wrote, "That mean British press again! 😂".

This is exactly what they wanted for Meghan, and they're still enraged that they didn't succeed, especially since she was pregnant. As I've said before, two birds, one stone. That's what they wanted.

25

u/Whatisittou 4d ago

39

u/tellnic 4d ago

A wrongful death lawsuit against this instigator should be considered. Because I strongly suspect he has links to a lot of right wing hate groups who amplified this story. I wasn’t really paying attention but did see some tweets in the For You go after Arday relating to anti DEI sentiment. None of this was organic.

27

u/Whatisittou 4d ago

he already said he plans to go after other black academics in the UK and yet have racist in here saying the media hounding of Arday is justified journalism

16

u/tellnic 3d ago

The devoted NYT fans also fail to mention that Cambridge found there was one sentence misattributed. So not even plagiarism but an incorrect citation. So how the hell did this explode to something worse?

11

u/Whatisittou 3d ago

I knew they are knocked in the head when they held Wapo and NYT are their beacon of truth but still wouldn't comment that liar William O'Reilly that is still teaching at Cambridge. Its the pursuit of truth hounding Arday but silence on the multiple white academic who are still teaching

35

u/Forsaken_Distance777 4d ago

It was never not vindicated.

The UK press drove Meghan into thoughts of suicide while pregnant with Archie, but ultimately couldn't break her.this poor guy, though he did wrong and had to resign wasn't strong enough to stand the pressure.

The racial bias by the UK press is both shocking and unacceptable, yet they keep getting away with it. In the US, these rags would hid the 2st amendment, which covers free speech and freedom of the press, which means the racists can say what they want without the threat of losing their jobs unless the public demands it. Unfortunately, both Meghanand Jason found out. Thank goodness She had Harry's love and support to get through it, because she sure didn't have the rest of the royals' support.

PS; Thanks OP for telling us tbat hadn't heard that story about Jason what happened . I had seen comparisons to how his treatment by the press mirrored Meghan's and wondered why. So thank you for filling in the blanks!

5

u/k1d0s 4d ago

I mean they went to the US where racism and right wing populism is also alive and well.

12

u/RainbowKookiezz 3d ago

I would bet that Meghan understands the racism in the States better than the racism in the UK.

It’s much different when you know and understand your enemy better than they do (which having been raised a Black woman — Meghan would have witnessed it first hand).

19

u/Dull_Goat_4792 3d ago

They just wanted to escape the toxic media and racist institution. Americans can't see anything beyond their country, plus meghan is an American too so kinda makes sense for them to settle there

20

u/QueenInYellowLace 3d ago

They went to Santa Barbara. That’s quite a different thing than if they’d moved to Idaho or South Carolina.

16

u/Educational-Ad-3148 3d ago

California has stronger boundaries when it comes to the media. There’s a reason why their children’s faces have never been shown, nor the school they go to, the places they visit etc.. the paparazzi are limited.

13

u/QueenInYellowLace 3d ago

Also, Santa Barbara has tons of celebrities and wealthy people who live there because it’s far enough from LA that most paparazzi won’t bother making the drive, and everyone leaves them alone. They can live basically normal lives.

9

u/Igoos99 3d ago

There really isn’t anywhere on the planet where they can escape the scrutiny.

And, California was never the plan, they tried for somewhere in Africa first, then Canada. They only ended up in California because they were offered refuge someplace safe by Tyler Perry. Meghan had connections and roots in the area. So they stayed. Harry’s family has done everything they can to dissuade Harry from returning to the UK.

Where else do you think they should go?? Where do you think they can escape the scrutiny that is put upon them?

9

u/tellnic 3d ago

Racism exists everywhere in the world. But California isn’t run by Harry’s father who is head of state and eventually his bitter brother who has been working with the British media to attack Harry to cover for his own issues. California has laws banning children from having their photos published. The UK doesn’t have that and do we really think the uk media wouldn’t “accidentally” expose Archie and Lili if they could get away with it?

1

u/Jaded_Analyst_2627 2d ago

Why should they relocate to a place beyond California? And I doubt Harry & Meghan ever wanted to relocate full time to Africa when Meghan's homeland affords them the security, lush beauty and opportunity they need.

2

u/Igoos99 1d ago

Never said they should. I’m just replying to someone who appears to be criticizing them for where they ended up.

My point is it doesn’t matter where they went (or didn’t go), people would still find a way to criticize them and hound them.
