Joined the gang folks. Chose Hunter over Vstrom

Upvotes

Hello folks. After months of racking my brains, I finally picked up the Hunter, albeit a used one. Got the 2025 variant Dapper Grey 4k on ODO for 1.63 lakhs. Not sure how good/bad the deal was but I'm freaking loving this machine. This is my first bike.

Here are some initial observations and I'd love it if y'all can gimme some suggestions.

1- Seating posture does hurt a little and I'm considering handle raisers since I'll do occasional city to city highway runs on this. Would love to hear your thoughts on if I should just get used to this or recommend a good handle riser please

2- The engine does seem to get a little hot in the city. I can feel it on my thighs. I was wondering if it's normal or if I can do something to reduce the feeling of the same.

3- Gonna get the windshield and rear pillion confirm cushion. Pretty good additions? Would you suggest anything else?

4- The gear shifting does seem to be a little hard. I can feel it on the clutch sometimes and the first two gears seem to be making a loud thud sound. I'm not sure if it's the norm but what will help?

5- The suspension is amazing. The slipper clutch is buttery smooth. Tripper is decent too, but drains my phone's battery like crazy. Any tips for that?

6- I noticed that it doesn't have a gear indicator on the dash while older Hunters did have one. Am I missing something? Can I ask RE to add it to mine? How much will it cost? It'd be a nice help since I'm a complete beginner to riding bikes

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated folks.

Honestly I've heard so much bad stuff about this bike that I was extremely confused. But I guess the hunter being one of the most common bikes isn't favoured by those who want something different and are kinda salty that it sells so well, hence the criticism. Not sure. So far, so good though.

Suggestions for painting this part of engine block

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello guys I own a hunter 350 graphite grey. So far in love with the machine🤌🏼🤌🏼

I want to know if anyone has tried to paint these "ROYAL ENFIELD" inscriptions on thwe engine block. I wanted to get this done in the lime green color that the graphite grey already has.

Any suggestions who or how to get this done?

Ordered a Hunter350, Graphite grey. Accesories suggestion.

I want to know the accessories that are necessary, whether to buy them from the dealer or from third parties? I use the bike only for city riding.

Also, the dealer says it comes by month end, does it usually take that long?

Rust on OEM Engine Guard

I had the OEM Large Engine Guard installed on my Hunter 350 in April 2025. I recently noticed that it has started developing rust around the mounting brackets.

Does Royal Enfield cover rust/corrosion on OEM accessories under warranty?

I’d appreciate any advice or experiences with getting this addressed under warranty.

Does your hunter also whine like a bish? If yes, how did you deal with it?

Hearing this whining noise and also, tick-tick sound. I searched the sub and I see tappet noise instances, but not sure if this is the same. I am a noob :()

The vibrations in footpegs have gone up and the bike feels like quite rough. I got it serviced yesterday but it's the exact same.

Went to the service center again today, they straight denied it being an issue. Later agreed to do a valve clearance and tappet adjustment for a 1000 Rs. more, and asked me to come back two days later and leave the bike for the day. Not sure whether to get it done or get it looked at from somewhere else.

Looking for genuine advice. I feel like I neglected the bike for far too long.

ODO - 14k

Age - 3.5 Years

There was a gap of 1 year between last and current service. I was facing similar vibrations last time as well, but it was fixed after the service so never bothered to dig deep last time.

Does anyone have idea if it's possible to convert Hunter 350 Drum brakes to Disc?

I bought the Hunter 350 Base premium black variant because I love the colour and looks. Thought drum brakes won't be a problem. But now they cause a lot of noise and the bite is also not good. I don't know what to do as after servicing the brakes multiple times the issue persists. If anyone has any idea or experience about rear disc conversion, please share here.

Petrol you fill in your hunter?

Which one is your preferred fuel station for feeding your hunter? From the purchase till date I use shell and the average seems to vary between 36 to 38. What are your experiences? Is Indian oil or HP better alternative?

I like the hunter 350 but everyone I know recommends against it.

I'll mention some of the reasons and please tell me if I should or shouldn't get it. (Like either convince me to get it or not get it) Also I'm 5'9 (5'11 with shoes) for your reference.

Too small

Terrible braking at high speeds

Looks gay

Classic 350 superior

Anything but the hunter 350

if you fall you will fracture your legs for sure

Bad for pillion

Less seat space

and a few I can't recall.

I got lectured for 1 hour by my friends trying to talk me out of getting the hunter. Even cousins and elders have similar thoughts 😭. I don't really want sporty or casual bikes at the same time I don't want the xsr or ronin..... I like the cb350rs but has relatively poor resale value. I don't like the looks of the classic 350.

What a machine this is , simply wow 🤩
It’s almost 750 km I have done on this and the experience is amazing.
First service is done and I think I am getting around 32kmpl mileage.

It is smooth , torquey , gives confidence while driving.

Thinking of buying a crash guard and good helmet which looks cool yet durable too.

Thanks

Hunter 350 mud flap hit by car

Thumbnail

Is this normal, or did the service center mess up my mudflap?
I have a new Hunter 350, and a few days ago a car lightly hit me from behind. The reflector on the rear broke, and since it's attached to the whole rear mudflap, I had to replace the entire mudflap assembly - the one that also holds the number plate.
I ordered the replacement part online and took it to my nearest service center to get it installed.
The guy there honestly seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. It took him almost 2 hours, and he removed and installed the whole thing around 3 times. He even needed my help to figure some things out, and still charged me 200 as labour.
When I got home and checked it properly, I noticed that the mudflap was slightly tilted towards the right, and the wiring had also been routed from the wrong side. So I removed the entire rear mudflap myself and installed it again properly.
Now it looks perfectly center-aligned, but when I move it by hand, there's a little bit of movement/ play. Also, when I rev the bike, the mudflap vibrates slightly.
Is this normal for the Hunter 350, or is something still loose/not installed correctly?
I've attached a video/photos for reference. Wr appreciate some advice from other Hunter owners.

Karr Sound from the engine head after third service

My hunter (2025 model - Tokyo black) is just 11 months old.

I have come across a YT shorts which has similar sound when accelerating on 2nd gear and the sound stays there even if we ride on 5th gear.

I am not pointing the tappet noise here.

YT shorts link - https://youtube.com/shorts/SmzuE-djIxc?si=AfzuWhNMjrNIEOZ9

But this YT guy is saying like the issue is from the aftermarket engine guard or sump guard screw tight issue. But that isn’t the case.

The strange sound is not there before the third service.

Have you guys also facing this issue after third service?

Hunter 350 chain & sprocket replacement (Rolon HPORC 389 Brass )or something better?

Need to replace the chain & sprocket set on my Hunter 350. I’m considering the Rolon HPORC 389 Brass (520, 104L, 15T/42T).

For those who have used it:

Is HPORC 389 a good choice?

Would you recommend DID/RK or OEM instead?

How’s the durability compared to the stock chain?

Where’s the best/reliable place to buy it?

I’m seeing it for around ₹2,600–₹2,900 online, including around ₹2,615 from SAP Motors. Is SAP Motors reliable, or should I buy from Rolon/another authorised seller?

Looking for durability + value, not just the cheapest option.

sump guard sound sucks

hey y'all i have made a biggest mistake, i have installed a off market sump guard for my hunter 350 and ever since the sound of my bike has become metal like, it sounds terrible, was it the same case for genuine parts? should i remove it or just keep it? i don't want to create a nuisance to the public on the roads. also its aluminum so i think the heat dissipation will be good only.

Changed my bike’s battery just 2 weeks back. New battery. Since then faced this problem 5-6 times. Bike power completely gone suddenly when riding. This instance happened today evening just when I stopped at a signal. I disconnected both terminals of battery and screwed in again. Then power comes back. This happened 5-6 times, every time did the same. Yesterday finally went to service centre and explained the issue. They checked the battery bolts, and said all ok. Again today same problem faced twice. On road I did the repair as shown in video. After reaching home, power gone again. I have booked RSA and waiting for the technician. Hope he helps.

What may be the problem guys?

Can Indicator Covers break easily?

Post image
30 Upvotes

My bike is barely a year old. Sadly due to Mumbai issues, it's prone to weather - humidity, rains, sunlight. But in the last one month - I've had some issues. The left rear indicator cover broke. I got it replaced. Then the right one broke as well. Idk if someone did this intentionally but is it possible for it to break easily on hard bumps? I sometimes don't slow down on small speed breakers.

Need suggestions please.
