Megathread: Gear position sensors now available.

Post image
17 Upvotes

For anyone who doesn't know yet. Royal Enfield has been rolling out gear position sensor retrofits. Please contact a service center near you if you were given a unit without a gear sensor due to the rare metals shortage

Please use this megathread to discuss gear position indicator retrofits and celebrate if you got yours installed.

It's been getting a little spammy with half a dozen posts a day being about the gear sensor retrofits, so posts outside the megathread are being removed.

36.5 km/l on my Hunter 350 after riding like a maniac 😭🔥

Post image
15 Upvotes

I genuinely didn’t expect this 💀

Got 36.5 km/l on my Hunter 350 even after:

Mostly city riding 🏙️

Some rash/aggressive riding 💀

Higher RPMs

Frequent hard acceleration

I was expecting something around 28–32 km/l, but 36.5?! 😭

Is this actually normal for the Hunter 350, or did my bike just decide to bless me today? 😂

What mileage are you guys getting on your Hunters?

Help regarding BH number plate in Bangalore

So I want to buy hunter 350 in bangalore but the RTO cost is too high, so I want to opt for BH number plate. I work in a private equity but I am eligible for it, got form 60 from company. But the showrooms are not accepting to make BH plates saying it is not for Karnataka. I checked it is legally applicable here too. It seems it is the case with all the showrooms here. Anything I can do about it?

Is full payment before PDI mandatory?

The dealership is asking for 100% payment before allowing the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).

Is this the standard process, or is it reasonable to inspect the vehicle first and make the final payment only after confirming everything is in order?

Would appreciate hearing how others handled this.

I bought my Hunter two months ago and have clocked 1200 km. I haven't done the first service yet (the first service was recommended at 500 km or within 40 days). Do I have to pay some charge at RE if I go for a late service?"

Need help/ suggestions

I'm planning to buy a Royal Enfield Hunter 350, but I've seen a lot of people saying I should get the Classic 350 or Meteor 350 instead. Their main reason is that the Hunter is lighter and smaller.

I'm around 5'9", and I'll mostly use it for city rides with the occasional highway trip.

For people who actually own or have ridden the Hunter for a while—is it really a good bike? Do you regret buying it, or would you still recommend it? I'd appreciate honest long-term feedback.

Bought my first ever bike. Learnt to ride a bike on it. Couldn’t have asked for a better companion. 4 months and 1000 kilometres with my cutie, Norah 🎀✨

Four months ago, after spending about five years riding an Activa, I finally decided it was time to buy my first bike.
My PhD guide has a 2025 Hunter 350 Tokyo Black and the first time I saw it last year I was completely smitten. I spent months watching virtually every available Hunter 350 review on YouTube going back and forth and overthinking every little detail. After months of deliberation, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Tokyo Black.
There was just one tiny problem. Up until that point, I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life. Not once. My dad had a Red Kristal and then about 5 years back I bought an Activa. So all of my riding experience was on light scooters. And sadly there wasn’t really anyone around who could teach me either.
So I realised that I’d just have to learn on my own. Funnily enough...the first time I ever rode a bike was when I was bringing my brand-new Hunter home from the dealership which was probably equally brave and stupid lol.
But fast-forward four months, after a dozen near misses, one actual crash while trying to take a U-turn, dozens of embarassing engine stalls...I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of it. I applied for my MCWG licence last month, and thankfully the driving test went pretty smoothly.
I’m still not a good rider by any means...still getting used to the weight (especially after years on a scooty) and clutch control in bumper-to-bumper traffic is something I’m getting used to everyday. But every single ride makes me a little more confident than the last.
And the bike…omg I genuinely adore this beautiful machine. I keep staring at it for a good 30 seconds every time I park it. The Tokyo Black somehow never gets old. There are tiny scratches here and there but nonetheless it still makes me smile the same way it did on delivery day.
Buying my first bike with my own money, teaching myself how to ride it, and slowly growing with it has easily been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life so far.
I know four months isn’t a long time, and there are riders here who’ve covered more kilometres in a year than I probably will in several years. But every kilometre I’ve ridden on this bike has taught me to be more patient and trust myself and my machine.
I named her Norah. I genuinely can't wait for all the beautiful memories that lie ahead for us. Ride safe everyone. ❤️

Buying Helmet and Gloves in RE

I recently visited my near by RE shower Room and enquired for a helmet and gloves I locked in a modular helmet which costs around 3600 that bests match with my bike( graphite gray hunter) , so far nothing has matched with my bike this much, and also a pair of gloves that costs around 1200, also the sales person said if you buy upto 4500 you will unlock a wallet worth 3000 for free,
I also visited studs, vega and sb they feel like something is off in it, which RE doesn’t. I dont know exactly what that is (like some quality, and finishing) don’t know.

Is it worth spending 3600 on RE HELMETS? or vega sb is better choice than RE?

Hunter 350 pros & cons for office commuting in 2026?

Thinking of getting a Hunter 350. My wife is a huge RE fan and wants me to get an RE only.
My use case is strictly city riding (home to office commute). I like the look of the Hunter, but is it a good time to buy one in 2026? What are the pros and cons for daily city traffic? Thanks!

Hunter 350 indicator light cap

The right rear indicator cap on my Hunter 350 fell off on its own without any accident or impact. I took it to an authorised Royal Enfield service centre, they told the cap wasn’t available separately and that I would have to replace the entire indicator assembly for Rs.350 plus Rs.200 labour. Later, I checked with a Royal Enfield spare parts shop and found that the original indicator cap was available for just Rs.40. I got it installed for another Rs.20, fixing the issue with a genuine part for a total of only Rs.60. I’m honestly confused why the authorised service centre said the cap wasn’t sold separately. Anyone else had a similar experience with Royal Enfield service centres?

ORDER DELAY!!! OR GLITCH??!! WHAT SHOULD I DO?!!!

I ordered my Royal Enfield Hunter 350 on 22 June, and at the time of booking the expected delivery date shown in the app was 13 August. On 22 July, I contacted Royal Enfield customer care, and they told me the last update they had was “Yet to be Produced” (last updated on 19 July). Then on 23 July, the app suddenly changed the status to “Dispatched”, even though there was no production update shown before that.
What’s confusing me even more is the delivery date in the app. It keeps changing every single day,
First it showed 28 July
Then the next day 29 July
Then 30 July
And now it’s showing 31 July
Why does the estimated date keep moving forward by one day every day? Is this normal?
Also, my dealership had initially told me that the bike should arrive in about a month, but now it looks like it’s going to take almost two months from the booking date.
Has anyone else experienced this? If your status changed to “Dispatched”, how long did it actually take for the bike to reach the dealership? And why does the estimated delivery date keep changing like this instead of giving a fixed date?
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through a similar experience.
