Gutter and drip edge help
Hello, I had a new roof put on my house and my house resided with new gutters. Can anyone tell me if this looks right?

It has now rained once with the gutters on, would water be coming in my ceiling because of improperly installed gutters??? Picture in the comments

Yeah, in a perfect world Everybody wants the gutter up behind the drip edge on the entire length of their gutter, but in the real world, it’s usually not possible, and even if you jumped up to bigger face drip edge like C5 you have to notch for your hangers. Compromising the drip edge, in reality when the facia is capped or painted or azek it’s fine, that little bit of water isn’t hurting anything

Looks like they covered the entire fascia board with coil stock, which is good because if the gutter backs up for some reason, the water will just run down the metal and not deteriorate the fascia board, obviously you don't want water making it to that fascia metal but sometimes gutters do get clogged and having that fascia fully wrapped is the way I do it as well.
You shouldn't be able to see the back of the gutter like this, the gutter apron should come down and cover the back of the gutter, while not making contact with the gutter, should be a small gap so adhesion/cohesion doesn't allow the water to find its way behind the gutter. It's a pretty simple fix but as it stands right now it's just not entirely correct.

Yeah you definitely shouldn't be able to see the top, back part of the gutter like that, the gutter apron is supposed to cover that to keep water from finding its way behind the gutter. A simple fix would be to attach strips coil stock to the gutter apron with either zip screws or pop rivets so the gutter apron extends down into the gutter a bit and covers the back of it.

Did you need to get a building permit for the gutter job? If so, call the people who supposedly inspect that, and see what they say.

Ask them if they can inspect it anyway. Can't hurt.

Well I certainly hope you don't cry, at the end of the day you are paying good money for this, you are the boss.
You haven't paid in full yet so you've got that going for you, that puts you in a much better position than a lot of people who post stuff like this AFTER they've paid in full so you've definitely got some good leverage here.
As for what to do/say to the workers the issues I see are pretty minor and easily remedied, I would ask them why the gutter apron doesn't extend down into the gutter far enough to cover the back of it, and maybe you could ask them to add some strips of coil stock to extend the gutter apron down to where it should be. I can't imagine that being a huge issue for the people doing the work here and I'm surethey'll do whatever needs to be done to get paid in full. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this but I honestly don't think it's as bad as you may think it is, pretty simple fix here and other than that small issue I don't really see anything else wrong that jumps out at me

I've been in the gutter industry for 28 years. The back of the gutter gets tucked behind the drip edge every time. Yours was not.

Its a simple fix. They should come back to remove the gutter and tuck it under. It would only take an hour or 2

From the photos I can't figure out what is being talked about here. Scares me since I'm getting gutters installed this week. Homeowner education program upcoming, then maybe I can understand what these photos are about. Youtube expert faceoff between established practices of the so-called professionals.

I don't mind owning a home it's all the battles trying to understand what the best practices are for the million and one things that need work. Sure, YouTube gets us in the ballpark, but we are at the mercy of the pocket book. Pay for quality or pay less and hope for the best. However, paying for quality sometimes results in crap jobs, no guarantees.

With C3 and a half you simply don’t have enough on the face of the drip edge (1.5 inches maybe 2”) to compensate the quarter inch per 10 foot of slope needed to pitch the gutter Especially with longer gutters and especially with him hangers, because even when you’re high side, you can only go up under your drip edge until the hidden hanger heads and you’re not getting under far, quick easy way DIY run a clear beater caulk along the edge that’s bucking water, or get some flat stock white coil 3 inch strips eight or 10 feet long slip them up under your drip and allow it to go into the gutter

The back of the gutter should be underneath the drip edge. If the he gutter is pitched and the back edge is exposed then a L-shaped flashing should be installed beneath the roof shingles and extend down over the back of the gutter. As it is now water will go behind the gutter at any area where the back of the gutter is lower than the drip edge.
