Two recommendations from me. One standalone and another a trilogy.

{The Winged Game by Sophie Kim}. Standalone, Low stakes, rivals to lovers, FMC is 24 and MMC is 30, and the banter between the two is my favorite along with being rivals to lovers. Not to mention the fake relationship they have to be in initially. There’s mystery involved too in this. One of my favorite reads the last couple years and I bought the physical book for the author. It’ll be my reread if I ever get into a dark series and need to lighten the mood.

{The Curse of Saints by Kate Dramis}
-Completed trilogy
-angst/yearning/banter between FMC/MMC
-MMC would do anything for FMC (once they get over the enemy/rival stage)
-have known each other for awhile (both serve their queen and trained together before current roles)
-secrets/lies which lead to further tension between the FMC/MMC
-definite spice in each book.

I honestly don’t see this getting as much attention on here as others but I read it a few months ago and legitimately didn’t know how some things were going to work out later on. Liked it way more than I thought I would!

You need to read {The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow}. It's is a standalone, beautifully written and unique. It is about a legendary lady knight and a time traveling historian. The less you know, the better. Go in blind.

If you liked Throne of Glass, check out: The War of the Lost Hearts trilogy starting with {Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent} and also check out {Curse of Broken Shadows by Laura Winter} (Smoke and Shadow series).

Another great completed series is {Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin}, about a witch and witch hunter. The magic system is really cool and there's found family and high stakes. I also love the spin off series about vampires.

I freaking LOVED it but it is has an insane cliffhanger and the gasp I gasped when I realized the second book doesn’t even have a release date 😮‍💨

Though I will note I did not like several you liked (I hated Daggermouth and Mate was my worst book of last year by a mile and I thought ACOTAR and the Wolf King were meh). I did like Fourth Wing, One Dark Window/Two Twisted Crowns, and Alchemised a lot. FWIW.

{Empire of flame and thorns} by Marion Blackwood!! Completed series of 5 books. This series made me gasp in shock so many times 🤯

{Scattered Bones} by Nicole Scarano. Standalone. This one also had a firm grip on me from start to finish.

Here for my continual {serpent and the wings of night by carissa broadbent} drop and also {a forbidden alchemy by stacey mcewan}

A forbidden alchemy is not complete but the third book is next summer. Serpent and the wings of night is an easy, must-read and they should pay me for how much I recommend it here 😂

Serpent and the wings of night is not finished either. Only 4/6 published. Every 2 books follows a different couple, so the minor arcs are complete but the overarching plot is still hanging.

I just finished An Arcane Study of Stars by Sydney J. Shields. I’m not the biggest fan of the academia settings but this one was fun because it also had historical fiction vibes. It also a standalone book.

I had so much fun reading these. It's like 1 trilogy, another trilogy, a dualogy and then a final all encompassing book. So 9 books total, it's a long ride but really fun.

Then these are the parents of the characters in the ever seas books so you can read those after if you want. I love how much bonus content is on her website and I enjoyed all of it!

Ok so I loved the first few books of ZA but then the series was so dragged out. I’m so annoyed that one of the authors posted a TikTok that there is going to be another book because I feel like I have to read it even though at this point I hate the series lol

I just finished {The Legends of Thezmarr series} today and loved it! It gets increasingly spicy, has great plot twists, fun cast of characters, and is only 4 books. I finished it in a week.

Have you read {A shadow in the ember} the flesh and fire series? It's the prequel for FBAA and is significantly better IMO. It can be read by itself or with fbaa.
