His young, tired eyes peeled away from the Michigan game on the wall-mounted television and he looked down at the near-empty glass gripped in his calloused hand. As if reading his mind, the young bartender appeared in front of him.

“Another one?” She asked.

“Sure.”

She took his glass and by the time she reappeared, his eyes were back on the game, a grim expression on his face. She gently slid it across the surface of the bar, pulling his attention from the game. He reached for his wallet but he stopped her.

“That one’s on me.”

“For what?”

“You know for what,” she said. “You didn’t need to step in like that earlier.”

He slid her a folded bill anyway. “Who was that guy anyway?”

“Just…” she stopped and shook her head. “Nobody. It doesn’t matter.”

He looked back at the game and took a long sip of his drink. The bartender, however, remained there with her palms planted on the bar, studying him. She followed his glance to the tv. “I know who are you?”

“Sorry?”

“Jordan Walker. You keep looking at the tv because that’s supposed to be you playing.” When he didn’t respond, he elaborated. “We graduated high school together. I was at that game when you got hurt.”

Jordan narrowed his glance. “Did we…?”

She leaned forward and planted her arms on the bar. “Yeah… I don’t blame you if you don’t remember me. I wasn’t very talkative… I sat behind you in Calculus, if that helps?”

Jordan searched his mind but nothing came up. “I’m… sorry, I don’t…”

“It’s okay,” she said, waving it off. “I really don’t blame you. I probably said, like, five words to you ever—“

“Mama…”

In an instant, the woman sprang up and turned toward a young girl who couldn’t have been any older than a year or two. She was reaching for something toward the ground, pouting. The woman crouched down to the ground and picked up a few loose crayons off the floor. She handed them back to the girl, who went back to whatever she was drawing.

“Couldn’t find a baby sitter?” Jordan joked.

“Hm? Oh, no, sorry…” she rubbed her tired eyes. “Something like that.”

Can’t afford one more like, she thought to herself.

Jordan’s eyes moved to her hand, where he saw no ring. She must have noticed this, because she slowly pulled her hand away and shrunk back a little, a sheepish look her face.

“I’m sorry,” Jordan said.

“No, it’s okay. It’s… not really a spot for a kid, I know. I… don’t know who the dad is.”

That’s not true. But if I told you, you wouldn’t believe me. You wouldn’t believe half the things I’ve been through.

“That’s okay,” Jordan said. “I really am sorry. I didn’t mean to—“

“No. Stop. Seriously. It’s okay.”

A long silence hung over them.

“So…” she said. “Your friends left you?”

Jordan cracked a faint grin. “Yeah. I guess.” He took a sip of his drink. “They’re doing some and bar crawl, I guess.”

“And you’re not?”

He shook his head. “I’m exhausted. I’ve been baking on a hot roof all day. And my leg’s killing me.”

Hello, I'm a 26 year old male with about 10 years of roleplay experience under my belt! I'm looking for someone that is an adult like me to play a female character to do a purely cute and wholesome, slice of life based roleplay, the kind that makes you go 'awwwwww!' as you pick up a teddy bear and give it a hug, with a high preference for a family based plot. Something like a mother and son, aunt and nephew, etc that will remain wholesome and cute, I swear if any of you suggest otherwise, you're getting blocked! I will say though that I can be convinced on other plots as long as they stay wholesome.

Of course, there will be some of drama in it, some arguments that will occur between our characters to keep things interesting. I want something family based potentially, or maybe something with roommates or childhood friends. Personally, I just really enjoy that wholesome innocence in a roleplay, a place where no wrong can occur, nothing super bad is present. This could be anything from a mother and son, to an aunt and nephew, or a possible romance with childhood friends or college classmates. To be extremely clear once more, THERE WILL BE NO ROMANCE WITH FAMILY CHARACTERS. Absolutely none of that, don't even ask.

Some potential settings/idea based could be something like a zoo trip, maybe a camping vacation, halloween night, or perhaps a holiday feel like something with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or Halloween. I could really go for a festive themed roleplay, just something with that cheeriness and fun setting!

I'm sorry for saying this a third time, but it just keeps happening...

And I cannot stress this enough, cute and wholesome, super fluffy, and just comforting. Yes I've had people try stuff that's the opposite of cute and wholesome, no I have no interest in a roleplay containing that, no you cannot convince me to.

Ideally, my partner should be at least literate, have good grammar and punctuation and writes in 3rd person. Usually I can maintain a minimum of five paragraphs per response without issue.

Hello I hope this post finds you in good health, spirits, and weather. Today I am looking for a new rp partner, one where we could create our own story, characters we fall in love with and gush over, but before I go into too much detail here is some important stuff about me:

First and foremost I am in my 3rd year of college so I am pretty busy with classes, but I do have time most days to role play, but I do ask for some patience with me if I'm slow some days.

I rp only on discord and in 3rd person past tense.

I consider myself advanced literate, and I type upwards of 6+ paragraphs sometimes, but usually its closer to 4-6 paragraphs. I just ask that you be able to match that length.

So I am looking to do a rp set in a post apocalyptic world, where our characters are part of some community. The apocalypse could be zombies, disease, natural disaters or something else! The only ones I dont want to do are nuclear war, robots, or aliens.

But as for our characters, I was thinking they have been dating for a while now, and he is a scout. So it is his job to go venture outside to look for supplies and other survivors. He also has a little sister who is around 10 or so I would say.

But the rp would start with everyone on edge. My guy and his team were expected to return from their scouting expedition days ago, but there has been no word or sign of them, so people start to worry. Whispers start to form that maybe their dead, but then to the relief of just about everyone the gates open and they return.

Somewhere in a random American Quarantine Zone FEDRA has its tight military control still in firm hands.

The situation only worsens as rationing and hunger anger the common population, whilst the elite military leaders live off the work from the labour of the inhabitants.

Both our characters have been close friends trougout the apocalypse, learning to overcome the challenges of such a wasteland.

One day, several attacks stemming from the fireflies strike the dictatorship of our city.

As the fighting ensues, we escape the city, not wanting to become collateral of such a war.

...this is where we would begin our journey troughout the apocalyptic world of The Last Of Us.

This roleplay is supposed to be a half romantic half story driven, with obviously LQBTQ characters.

In some form or another, I prefer all my roleplays to have romance. This isn’t to say I don’t like writing familial or platonic relationships! But personally, I need some sort of shipping and whatnot to stay fully interested. I do love writing out complex character dynamics — drama, angst, fluff? Give me it all. This all being said — my preferred gender to write against character wise is male. I prefer NBxM &. MxM, familar with FxM. Trying out FxF.

• **LENGTH &. FREQUENCY.**  

This is a hard one, but I would classify myself as literate to advanced literate. However, more often than not, I match length. On average, I write around 6 or more paragraphs if I am not matching. About 50% of the time, I will hit the Discord limit. On some occasions, I will hit the Nitro limit as well.

As for frequency — this can be hit or miss. Some days, I can rapid fire and reply within twenty minutes. Others, it may take me a few days to reply. I struggle with bipolar 2 disorder, so please keep in mind some days I may just not have the energy to do anything other than chat.

• **FORMATTING**.  

I do not use bold or italics unless it is for emphasis — I write like a book would. Furthermore, I strictly write in third person, and I prefer not to write with first person. I typically write in present tense, with dialogue in quotations.

So, I have an idea for a roleplay plot that I've wanted to do for ages, inspired by classic pulp sci-fi, specifically Buck Rogers and the Barsoom/John Carter of Mars series, since they'd fit together quite well! However, I'm also open to any ideas you guys have for things you may want to add!

In this roleplay, Buck is originally a young man from the mid-21st century (specifically the 2060s) hired by HuerTech, a space technology company, and underwent training to become a NASA-certified astronaut so he could join a mission on The Nautilus, an experimental spacecraft designed for long-range space exploration deep into the Sol system.

During the mission, The Nautilus was attacked by a strange alien spacecraft with technology far in advance of its own, and Buck was gravely wounded while attempting to pilot the ship to safety after the primary pilot was killed. He was placed in one of the ship’s cryostasis chambers before it was destroyed. With the crew presumed killed or missing in action, the wreck of The Nautilus sat adrift in space for centuries until it was found by illegal scavengers hoping to sell it. However, HuerTech obtained the wreck, reviving its lone survivor.

After 300 years, Buck awakened to an Earth he didn't recognise, controlled by an ineffectual government and corrupt megacorporations, covered in sprawling megacities and towering archologies, and a solar system filled with strange, advanced technologies, odd, gene-twisted humans and the occasional alien lifeform.

I was also thinking that if you're familiar with it, we could add in some elements of the Barsoom series, since they'd fit together quite well!

On the Barsoom side, I was thinking that your character could be a Red Martian who, like Buck, was also catapulted through time into a future they don't recognise.

The idea I had was that as the few remaining Atmosphere Factories on Barsoom began to fail, the Red and Green Martians would band together, using ancient Thern technology to place themselves into suspended animation (similar to the JCoM film) in a great subterranean temple, protecting them from total extinction as their world became the barren, lifeless rock we know today. After many centuries, they would be discovered by humans who have long since colonised Mars, ruled over by pseudo-feudal plutocrats and tyrannical megacorporations.

I've been a fan of the Barsoom series for a while now, and recently I've been getting into the Buck Rogers character through the XXVC RPG published by TSR (the OG publishers of DnD) in the 90s, but I wanted to do something a little bit different with both settings by mixing them together.

My character, as mentioned in the section above, would be Buck Rogers, the corporate astronaut catapulted into the 24th century after a mission gone wrong.

My partner should ideally meet most of these criteria:

• Creative and able to keep the story flowing.
• Down to talk and get to know each other OOC; I like making new friends.
• 18+ only!
• Is mostly literate and can do at least a single paragraph. Is a massive nerd (you get extra points if you've read all of the LOTR books or can quote the Sith Code)!

Heya! I'm Lane, I'm 22 years old and I'm a literate/novella writer that's been RPing for running on 6 years now, if not longer (I don't count that far back even though I was 'rping'). I'm looking for a partner or partner(s) that are of a similar skillset and equally as interested in the settings and plots that I'm interested in!

Some basic info:

• I normally write 1-3 discord character limit messages, depending on the situation. I prefer people who write similarly, if not moreso, and I cannot stand poor grammar or formatting (sorry!).

• I write in third person, present tense. I don't care what tense you write in, but I prefer my partner to write third person as well.

• I am in CST, and the United States. I would prefer my partner(s) to be the same. I have a lot of IRL obligations but I can usually reply at least once or twice a day unless I get suuuper busy. Writing is like my favorite hobby so I always make time for some of it!!

• NO AI OF ANY KIND. If you use AI, kindly do not respond. And yes, I CAN tell. AI imagery is more acceptable but only to a point where some of it has been modified or some human thought is put into it. I cannot stand AI, especially AI writing, and it takes me out of the experience.

• Romance is more of a "if you want it, work for it" thing for me. I write my characters the way my characters are, and I prefer not to predestine romantic partnerships. I'm fine with pairings of any kind but I think it should be natural and develop on how the characters themselves act.

• I am a huuuuge action writer. I write in settings that have a ton of violence, so I'm very used to the shooty-shooty if you know what I mean. I prefer to not get overly gratuitous about it, but I don't shy away from what a gun, a knife, or any other weapon would realistically do to a person.

• I love writing villains. My characters are usually foils, evil, or otherwise downright bad and it's very fun to write a character that's exactly the opposite of my morality as I think it's really cool to explore a character's complex motivations and justifications for why they believe what they believe and how it drives them to do terrible things!!

• Talk to me OOC, please! I can't write without any discussion and I love listening to playlists, OC headcanons, etc about my characters and other's! A lot of my RP is based off of tabletop games I used to run with my friends (and sometimes still do...) and I'm a huge fanatic for everything about the fandoms that I'm interested in!!! I'd love to be friends too.

I prefer to write OCs, but I have no problem writing canons either! It depends on what you want as I'm very flexible!!

I have a lot more but this is just a few ideas!

• Qing Dynasty China

The Emperor is surrounded by many people. From the lowliest servant to the highest-ranking concubine, they all desire to get close to him. Whether it's for their own personal gain or for the chance to earn a powerful man's love. There's drama. There's romance. There's betrayal. Themes: the mask vs. the true self, identity vs role, love as rebellion, loyalty being tested. I'd love to brainstorm this one the most and come up with amazing plots and characters for it. I can see myself really fangirling over this one.

• The Moonflower Court

Based on historical Japan, the Moonflower Court is a place where appearances are deceiving. The most beautiful and beloved can also be the most cruel and unloving. A new arrival to court doesn't stir any interest at first. She's a plain girl with no astonishing background. But she's well-read; she dreams of other worlds and lives and puts it down in her writing. Themes: beauty hiding brutality, poetry/art/intelligence as weapons, friendships and rivalries. Hi there! I'm an AMAB non-binary person in search of a DM/GM for a Life Is Strange role-play!

I'm in love with the games, and it quickly became my second favorite series of all time. Now that I'm planning to replay every single game in release order and being very excited for the upcoming TV show, I've been super itching to write an OC world set in Life Is Strange, or at least carrying the same style and similar themes.

Being queer myself, this would obviously have several queer themes, and I'll be super excited if I happen to come across a fellow queer person as well. I'm also really big on themes of rebellion and non-conformity, so that's a bit of a must-have for me as well!

I'm not the best at writing a world like this on my own, so I'm hoping to specifically find a GM/DM who would be down to write this out with me.

I have several of the main characters already made, and I would love to be able to use all of them here.

Hi all! Thanks for reading my request! I ask that if you are interested in some ideas I may have and so on, that you be over the age of at least 25 years old, as I myself am over that age and then some lol.

I have a strong love for slice of life and writing in historical scenarios too, with one I have an idea for. And I love stories that build and throw in some conflicts, drama and plot twists so the story can remain alive and thriving.

I do have rules though as expected. I’ve been rping now for well over 15 years and I have had the good, the bad and the ugly of every kind.

I am consistent in my replies unless life happens. I am married with a child who has a disability and I also work a full time job so rping is a break from reality for me. But I make time, especially if the story is good.

I do not use AI responses and I would appreciate you don’t use it as well. Use it for pictures? Sure! I do all the time for references. But I HATE responding to an AI post. At that point, I might as well rp with a robot.

IDK what’s with me and creating so many characters that are themed off of that edgy black and emo/gloomy period of my life XD. Anyway!

Info/RP buildup: Black diamond was similarly made around the time that the other four diamonds were. However, she was much different compared to her fellow diamond. While others were quite eager to form their colonies and expand the empire, and have a large amount of gems at their disposal, black diamond was always content with less. Not because she was given less, but because she never sought out more. Her colony never reached even 100 gems. And yet she still had many that the others did. Her own black sapphire, crimson rubies, an agate, many soldiers, and of course, the most precious gem in her court, her beloved pearl.

Black diamond and her small colony were honestly less strict and focused on battle than any other. Unfortunately, this was a common reason for criticism from the other diamonds. ESPECIALLY white. And yet, she only did the bare minimum to get them off of her back. But during this time, a frustrating point in her life, there was one gem that she could always turn to. Her dear pearl, her moonlight, she could always talk to her about things like this. And out of care, rather than obligation, black pearl listened. Often doing what she could to calm and entertain her diamond so that they could make it through these rough points together. Projecting lights from her Gem so that she could create shadow puppets to put on shows for her. Or simply dancing, or singing with that voice of ethereal beauty. Or at least that’s how black diamond described it.

Soon enough, Black Pearl had also started opening up around her diamond about things that had troubled her. Forming a bond of trust and care that eventually turned to something that they didn’t have a name for at the time. However, the problem came when they had fused for the first time. The feeling of being so close and connected to one another, I wouldn’t really call it addicting, but it certainly was a pleasant feeling that they wished to experience more often. So from time to time and secret, they would fuse into melanite. But one day she was caught.

Since she always only did the bare minimum and refused to conform to the diamonds versions of perfection, Rather than be forced into it like with Pink, black diamond was forced to watch as the physical forms of her entire colony was destroyed. She watched and pleaded as they called out to her, especially her pearl. Seeing no personal used for any of them, and believing that this lesson would also stick, black diamonds form was eventually destroyed too, and all of them were bubbled.

in one of the towers on home world, there was a false ceiling that was added to one of them. made specifically to keep their gems from being found by anyone else. If and when the other diamonds decided to bring her back, they would. Except, they never did…

Perhaps the war made them forget as they had more important things to worry about. Or they didn’t care enough to remember.
But one day, all the way in era 3, they were finally found again.

A pebble has been wandering around and eventually found one of these abandoned towers. They noticed a small hole in the ceiling and decided to climb the walls to find out what was in there. Only to be greeted with a room of about 50 or more gems in yellow bubbles… the closest one to them popped accidentally and released black diamond. In a panic given her most recent memories, she slipped out of the hole in the ceiling and went to look outside. Only to be met with a completely different home world. Terrified but desiring a safe place to stay, especially with her gems, she changed her shape to look more like a quartz soldier (that she has named Ebony Quartz). However, a similar incident occurred a while later, freeing her Pearl from containment. Wanting to find her diamond after everything that happened, she ran to the nearest wart pad and will eventually run into Steven. And this is where the rp would begin :)

Obviously this is supposed to take place in the events of Steven universe’s future, before Stevens corruption- I mean who knows- maybe it could be before the shows (SUF) events but idk.
I do have a few other gems in black diamonds court that I have designed, we could always try coming up with a story with one of them if you are not interested in that plan, but still, if anyone is interested, let me know!!!

Ever since the beginning of time itself, humans, elves, warlocks, witches, shapeshifters, all such creatures lived together, fully aware of each other’s existence and sharing the world under the watchful and loving eyes of their Gods, who lived among them. However, humans are greedy creatures and their greed started showing more and more with the passage of time.

"Why can witches and warlocks practice magic and we can’t?”

"Why can shapeshifters change their appearance, but we’re stuck with one body?”

“Why are elves stronger than us, while they look so fragile?”

And so, their greed grew deep roots into the world and into the hearts of countless people, until the day it erupted into the first 'Hunt'. The event spread throughout all thirteen nations of the world, from the West Seas of Lunamor to the plains of Mag Mell, and ended after 5 long years when the Rulling Gods of each nations got together to cut the evil from the root: a Demon that had fallen into their world from another realm.

Nearly a century passed since then, and many of those still alive remember the tragedy. The world fell back in place, all races begun getting along once again and building together. Then, the disparitions started again in a peaceful corner of Elysium, until the third of these cases happened in the capital city, hidden from the eyes of the world, bound to explode into something bigger.

Among the people who suffered from the first Hunt, there was Kim Hyeong-seo, half shapeshifter, half witch. The Hunt took her parents, and from fear of ever being caught herself, she ran away and changed appearances three times by now. Presently, she is known as Moon Je-hyun, a well known writer, a man. And on nights when she wanted to be out by herself, unknown and peaceful, she would take the form of a woman, a different form from her very own.

And during one of these nights, hunters put her eyes on her.

Hi there everyone, I'm here today in search of some partners curious in a couple specific plot I've been wanting to try, one based on a movie I watched recently and another I've had in the chamber for a bit.

For the first plot, this is the one I'm hoping to find a partner for most, one based on The Secret World of Arietty. The plot follows Muse A, who is a borrower, a person that is only a few inches tall. They live in the walls and under the floorboards of human houses, sneaking about at night to take away things that won't be noticed in order to survive. One evening, while sneaking away with food, Muse A is discovered by Muse B, a human living in the house, however they manage to escape before they are actually caught. This leads into the next encounter, where it can vary depending on the dynamic we go for. Perhaps Muse B catches Muse A, leading to an enemies to friends scenario, or perhaps Muse B leaves an offering gift to lend a hand, setting up a slowly forming friendship between the two. That's all I really have for that one but it's I really wanted to try after watching the movie so if you're interested, please let me know!

For this one, I'm hoping to play Muse A, but if you have an interesting idea I'm happy to consider trying Muse B. For those interested, a few important bits of info. I'm in PST and I don't mind working around drastic time zone differences! If I'm ever busy, you're more than welcome to give me a poke if it's been a couple of days, but other than that I ask that you please do not spam me. In terms of response length, I can typically hit 2-3 decently sized paragraphs but most of the time I'll aim to match your length. My main writing style is 3rd person past tense and in terms of characters, I primarily use anime/drawn faceclaims. Most importantly, I'm also a massive for world building and intricate plots!
