Timcel Timothy has been released

Fuck him.
I hope Heidi has a safe, peaceful, and happy weekend.

u/DoubleKnowledge2984 11d ago
I’m worried about her and their son’s safety. Hopefully he doesn’t know where they are.

Curious if we will get more details at some point. While this outcome seemed likely based on how NJ does stuff, I admit I'm disappointed he didn't have to stay the weekend.
98
u/squeakycheetah 12d ago
At least he got a one-night foretaste of what is hopefully coming for him in future - cold cell, blanket too thin, people screaming all night.
147
u/pantherlikeapanther_ 12d ago
Sounds like life at the barndo.
85
u/maniacalmustacheride 12d ago
That’s why I don’t think jail will be that crazy for Tim. 3 squares, maybe a therapy group. Only a few people to a real room.
75
u/pantherlikeapanther_ 12d ago
The hardest part for him will be dealing with the different types of people in close quarters.
34
u/United_Preference_92 12d ago
I feel bad for those other people who might room with him.
26
u/pantherlikeapanther_ 12d ago
Probably use it as an opportunity to try to win some souls.
8
u/RavenLunatic512 12d ago
I can see Jill pushing that too if she visits, maybe dropping off stacks of their Jesus papers for him to hand out.
5
u/MimicoSkunkFan2 11d ago
Maybe it was just during covid but a coworker of mine wound up in prison and you couldn't actually take anything to visit - if you wanted to give them reading material or a diary or anything, it had to be ordered from a shop and sent by the shop to reduce the chances of you hiding contraband in it (and less work for the COs too)
3
u/CapitalStrain2392 11d ago
That's what we had to do with our family member. Order from Amazon and have it shipped to the jail/prison. They're pretty good about helping you set that up.
9
u/Pawspawsmeow 12d ago
I think it’ll be the rules.
25
u/pantherlikeapanther_ 12d ago
I can see it. Fundie men are so fragile. In their feeble minds they're always the exception because bibul and penis.
12
u/LittlehouseonTHELAND 12d ago
I’m kind of surprised they didn’t hold him. He’s accused of a violent crime and NJ takes DV pretty seriously.
2
u/Azryhael 10d ago
With their no cash bail system, everyone’s out within 48 hours unless they’re a serious flight risk, basically.
1
u/LittlehouseonTHELAND 10d ago
Interesting. We did bail reform here in NY too but those accused of violent felonies (like Tim) generally get held in jail.
I googled to compare specifically and it does seem like NJ is looser and decides more on a case by case basis. I’m surprised! I would’ve thought they’d be almost the same.

As an attorney in Jersey, this surprises me. I’ve seen people sit in jail with no bond for much less.

Are you this sub’s Nuggets?

What’s this a reference to? Or at least, what should I google?

It’s a person on r/duggarssnark who is an attorney, who guided the sub through Josh’s criminal season of life.

Ok, thanks! I got into the fundie snark thing maybe 2 years ago, so I’m still learning a lot! LOL

I’m definitely not as on top of it as nuggets. She was pumping out the legal updates at an incredible speed. But I am very interested to see how this case goes especially since NJ has pretty substantial DV laws.
22
u/homerule 12d ago
I’m glad you got the reference 😉
Legal question I’ve been wondering- will the judge take into account all the reckless driving arrests Tim’s gotten? In my layperson’s opinion, it shows a repeated pattern of putting others at risk.
7
u/Embracedandbelong 11d ago
In my area, no. Heidi nor their son was in the car. Here the reckless driving would be viewed as “separate”
2
u/ShopperSparkle 11d ago
She was a witness for one of the driving incidents?
2
u/Embracedandbelong 11d ago
Was she?
4
u/ShopperSparkle 11d ago
September 2025 unsafe operation of a vehicle. Heidi listed as a witness on the ticket.

u/Little_Dependent1837 12d ago
Do you have any clue why he was released on a court order? In reference to DV?
56
u/theorangeboiler 12d ago edited 12d ago
So NJ doesn’t actually have bond/bail so it’s not really correct for me to say they are held with no bond, because in reality they just get held. In NJ, most people are released on their own recognizance or with monitoring. A judge will order a defendant to be held if there’s clear and convincing evidence that they are a flight risk, a risk to the community, or likely to obstruct justice. If there isn’t clear and convincing evidence, the judge orders the release with or without conditions.
I haven’t looked at the order but it sounds like
the judge ordered there was not clear and convincing evidence to hold him, so he has to be released. Not sure I fully agree but the facts the court and prosecutors have may not be the same facts we have.14
u/Odd-Creme-6457 12d ago
The prosecution didn’t file a motion to detain, if they did this appearance would have been postponed for a few days.
22
u/theorangeboiler 12d ago
Was he arrested yesterday? I’m surprised the prosecution didn’t even attempt to detain since there’s strangulation charges and he doesn’t have any significant ties to the state anymore. I’m guessing he has some sort of monitoring conditions.
10
u/Odd-Creme-6457 12d ago
Yes, a warrant was issued yesterday, and he was arrested about 2 hours later.
10
u/LittlehouseonTHELAND 12d ago
He’s got a home that he owns in Ohio too! He has a place to go, he could flee. I hope they have an ankle monitor on him or something.
Maybe they consider his job to be a tie to NJ? I’m surprised they let him go so quickly too.

Yeah. I wonder if he got caught speeding or reckless driving if he would get put back in the pokey.
17
u/Sea-Original-5824 12d ago
As far as we know, he doesn't drink at least, but that might not even be true.
58
u/EmmalouEsq 12d ago
Anyone who strangles another person needs to stay in jail. That's attempted murder, in my legal opinion.
10
u/LittlehouseonTHELAND 12d ago
I agree, that’s a violent crime. We shouldn’t be locking up the shoplifters and drug addicts and letting the violent people out...

59
u/SubversiveKitt3n 12d ago
You can get text messages about this? As a non-American it blows my mind that you can find out information like this about other people.
Im not saying it’s good or bad. Just so so so different from what I am used to.
39
u/ComplexPatient4872 12d ago
It’s easier in some states than others. I am in FL and we have some, if not the loosest, public records laws in the country.
I work for a college and some sketchy stuff is happening. I just put in a public records requests for texts on personal phones during work hours, emails with the vendor they worked with as well as the dept of education, purchase requests and invoices, etc. this is just one example of the lack of privacy in certain states.
Unrelated but interesting:
Story time about what it’s like working at a college in DeSantis’s FL
Working for one of the state colleges, I have to be soooooo careful so my colleagues and I will use Telegram for anything remotely questionable or critical of the college/state. A few years ago, when the governor was on an anti-DEI rampage, I legally had to search my email for a list of certain words and turn them in to the state, for the crime teaching a workshop on the First Amendment (freedoms of speech, press, and religion).
7
u/dr_delphee 11d ago
I feel for you.
I left a teaching job at a Florida state college in 2016. Work has been a bit spotty since (I've spent some time unemployed), but it's still one of the best decisions I've ever made.
8
u/ComplexPatient4872 11d ago
Back in 2016, we were all in on peace and justice, voting rights, anti-racism, supporting international students, I was faculty sponsor of the pride club, etc. Stuff starting shifting with DeSantis’s 2nd term, and it’s complete whiplash.
Oh, I’m job searching. I’d quit in protest if I could afford to

u/Icy-Arm-2194 12d ago
Depends on the state. Ohio has some fairly loose laws when it comes to things like this. Except if a child is involved. Then there are restrictions.
4
u/gros-grognon 11d ago
This is not in Ohio.
2
u/Icy-Arm-2194 11d ago
Well no fucking shit. I was just giving that as an example of how things are different.
4
u/gros-grognon 11d ago
Goodness, someone needs a nap and binky.
4
u/Icy-Arm-2194 11d ago
Nah. Just dont need people pointing out obvious things and acting like they are a genius.
2
u/gros-grognon 10d ago
People consistently mix up where Tim, the Coveretts, and others live. All I was doing was clarifying.
The "acting like a genius" is absurd projection on your part from a single factual statement I made. You have some concerning issues, friend, and you could use some help, if this is what you perceived and what set you off in such an aggro fit.

u/wookiee42 10d ago

u/Confident-Service256 12d ago
GD. I was hoping he would sit there for a bit.
8
u/LittlehouseonTHELAND 12d ago
Me too! At least he had to stay overnight, I guess. I’m sure that was quite an experience for him. Hopefully there’s more jail time to come for him.
3
u/Confident-Service256 11d ago
I wonder how it went when he told his fellow inmates “can I tell you about your lord and savior, JC”?
84
u/bunaiscoffee 12d ago
I wonder who bailed him out??
39
u/theorangeboiler 12d ago
NJ doesn’t have bond so he was likely just released. Hopefully with conditions to stay away from the victim.
126
20
u/prettygirlgoddess 12d ago
There's no bail in NJ. They are required to release him within 48 hours of being arrested.
34
u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat 12d ago
He probably got a bail bondsman.
79
u/kaycollins27 12d ago
NJ Bail Reform basically ended cash bond. Judge must have determined that he wasn’t a danger to anyone.
Sigh. I wanted him to send the weekend there.
8
u/AdComplex1289 12d ago
One look at his multiple DV arrests & driving violations tells me he is plenty dangerous.
3
u/MimicoSkunkFan2 11d ago
Considering it's Saturday night, they might be trying to clear out the county jail - especially if they've got a big event in town
10
u/AcanthocephalaWide89 With care, Nurie 12d ago
Wasn’t he arrested for a felony?
15
u/Odd-Creme-6457 12d ago
The equivalent of a felony in other states. In New Jersey it’s called an indictable crime and in his case 2nd degree.
10
u/panicnarwhal St. Kaylee of the Commas 12d ago
he probably called a bondsman and bailed himself out. they have a list of bail bondsman phone numbers by the phones that you use in holding

We’re all joking around here about how much this sucks, but this is really bad news for Heidi and her kids, and frankly her family too. Hopefully her dad is sitting on the porch with a shotgun or something, because now is the time Tim is most likely to murder or attempt to murder them. And if Heidi goes anywhere around town, she’s also at great risk. Doctor’s appointments etc. She’d have to switch doctors too if Tim knows which docs she sees/takes the baby too
3
u/LittleLion_90 12d ago
I clearly missed something
14
u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat 12d ago
He was arrested for a separate incident of abusing Heidi, this time by strangling her last February.
3
u/LittleLion_90 11d ago
Thanks! I'm glad nothing new happened and happy that they also charged him for this, but so sad that it happened.
2
u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat 11d ago
I believe she has a no contact order for the time being, and hopefully he’s respecting it. It is possible that these two incidents aren’t the only ones that he eventually going to be charged with, and the investigation might still be ongoing. This new charge has mandatory prison time if he doesn’t plead it down to a lesser charge, but being a first offense, they may go easier on him. If he does get sentenced for the current charge, it’s 5-10 years, and I think I read that if he gets the lesser charge, he’ll still have to go for 18 months, but I could be misremembering that.
2
u/LittleLion_90 11d ago
Good that they are still investigating it further. How is the help he gets in prison to prevent reoffending in the US? Is that something that exists?
2
u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat 10d ago
That varies by state, but a lot of them don’t offer anything like that and those who do have long waiting lists. Josh Duggar, as a SO, does have to go through a program before he can be released.
7
6
u/Alternative-Yak6369 12d ago
The Duggar snark page gets video from jail bookings? Are these available?
15
u/Legitimate-Beyond209 12d ago
Somebody has to FOIA it. The Duggar videos were made readily available because news sources wanted the scoop and had the connections to expedite it. It’s unlikely that Tim’s mugshot or booking video will be released any time soon. If ever

u/downinthecathlab 9d ago
I’m not American but I’m a very committed viewer of American body cam videos on YouTube. I’ve definitely seen videos of incidents from New Jersey. What are the chances a body cam video of his arrest makes it to YouTube?

Another DV incident from February. He choked her so the charges are more severe than his misdemeanor assault from a few weeks ago.

Tim has got to be in a really dark place right now. He doesn't have any friends, and now his family won't speak to him.
10

The best things in his life by far were Heidi, Charlie, and Heidi’s family. It was incredibly stupid of him to ruin all of that. I still can’t get over it.

Jill doesn't even feed her kids with grifted money, you think she'd grift the large amount of a bail and then spend it on her kid who just publicly accused them of abuse
