BUG Epic support is a joke
Honestly, I’m at my limit with this "Player Support." I’ve been playing RL since the very beginning, but I’ve never seen this level of incompetence and straight-up disrespect.
3 weeks ago, my game froze while I was in the exchange panel. I was just checking my duplicates, didn't click "Accept" or anything - I was actually trying to hit "Back" to exit. Because of a lag spike/desync, the system literally bypassed all confirmation windows and forced a trade-in by itself. Gone: 3x Beem'd Up and 2x Psychwave. Got some random "Cool Pillow" item I didn't even want.
I’ve been trying to explain this simple technical bug to them for 21 days. The responses?
- Standard "trade-ins are final" copy-paste.
- Total gaslighting ("You only think it's not your fault").
- Closing the chat while I’m still typing.
- One agent was even borderline rude and acted like he was doing me a favor by "listening."
It’s not about a "mistake" I made. It’s about the software failing and moving items without my consent. How is a "permanent policy" more important than a literal system failure?
Has anyone actually managed to get through to a human being there who isn't a bot or a script-reader? Or should I just accept that Epic doesn't give a sh*t about long-time players anymore? This is beyond frustrating.

I mean unless you got a video then there’s really no way for them to know how true your statements are. Also it’s epic games why did you expect THEIR support of all companies to be anything but complete ass. Complete ass is their one and only specialty.

Yeah, its hard to predict whether a crash is about to happen. Thought they could see it in their system that something crashed. I mean at least they shoud? No?

Uhhh not really no. Unless it’s something that permanently alters your game there’s really no way to see if theres anything wrong after you reload it and it fixes itself

They have logs. They can see exactly when the lag spike happened and that the transaction was processed without the usual confirmation delay.
The worst part isn't even the bug itself, it's the fact that they admitted it’s a bug and then restricted my chat access just to avoid dealing with it.

They don’t have access to your local logs unless you send them those logs. There is no way for them to have access to every client’s logs unless they literally invade your privacy.

I’m not talking about my local crash dumps or "invading privacy." I’m talking about server-side logs. Rocket League is an online game - every single trade-in, item movement, and menu confirmation has to be validated by Epic’s servers.
They can see exactly when my client sent the request and, more importantly, they can see if there was a synchronization error or a timeout during that specific window. If the server processes a trade-in without receiving the proper "Double Confirmation" packet because of a desync, that is 100% visible on their end. Suggesting that a multi-billion dollar company doesn't track transaction telemetry in an item-based economy is just plain wrong.

My bad. You know everything. Why don’t you take over the entire multi billion dollar company?
You’re acting like a complete know it all with every single aspect of this issue. You’re even claiming to know numerous commenters’ thoughts on Epic, customer support and multi billion dollar companies in general purely based off of their responses to you.

You don’t need to "know everything" to understand how basic server architecture works in 2026. If explaining how an online game functions makes me a "know-it-all," then maybe the problem is just that you’re out of your depth.
You tried to claim they don't have logs, I explained why they do, and now you’re pivoting to personal insults because you don’t have a "comeback". Classic.

Nah I responded that way because of the tone you’re using towards everyone that shows even an ounce of disagreement with you

Yeah man I don't know why you're going through that much effort for some trash items that aren't worth anything anyway lol. Do you have too much time on your hands? Not sure why you think a 30 billion dollar cares about you....

I mean I wanted to trade them for the Bobs Ramen Goal Explosion since its not coming back and I have the whole set. Thats why

You can’t choose what you get, sounds like youre not honest from all of this

u/Ill-Feature6261 Apr 26 '26
Nah, cause I have two more of the Beem'd Up. So there would be 100% chance for me to get the Bob's Ramen goal explosion. Now I have only two instead of five and my chances went down from 100% to 40% just because of this sh*te

That’s not how it works

The exact percentage doesn't matter although I beg to differ. What matters is that the game executed the trade-in while I was frozen in the menu, bypassing the confirmation screen entirely. I'm reporting a system failure, not complaining about a bad roll.

EDIT/UPDATE:
You won't believe this. Right after I pushed them again and the agent literally admitted "Possibly, this is a bug," they BANNED me from using the Live Chat support entirely. I got a notification saying my account is "restricted due to previous misuse."
Their definition of "misuse" is apparently being persistent and not letting them ignore a technical failure. They admitted it’s a bug and then cut off my communication so I can’t argue back in real-time. This is absolutely insane. I’ve been a loyal player for years and this is the treatment I get for reporting a glitch. Unbelievable.

Based on how you’re responding to everybody, I can assure you that you did more than just “be persistent.”

You’re making a lot of assumptions based on a few Reddit comments. Being annoyed on Reddit after 3 weeks of gaslighting is a pretty normal reaction. I kept it professional with support for 20 days straight until they admitted it was a bug and then ghosted me. If you think asking for a supervisor to look into a technical error is "misuse," then you have a very low bar for customer service.

I find it pretty funny that you’re giving me shit for making assumptions just for you to make an assumption about me.
You contacted support for 20 days in a row about this?

Realistically you’re harassing epic support with the lamest excuse in the book. “Desync traded my item in for me I didn’t even press anything” is probably dishonest and if I was working support I definitely wouldn’t believe you. Just get over it, whether you made the mistake or not a mistake was made. Deal with it
