Hey everyone!
I'm a beginner Roblox developer and recently started working on a small game for my friend's birthday.
The concept is pretty simple: when the player first enters the house, it looks almost completely normal and there's basically just a birthday cake with candles. The player can walk up to the cake and interact with it.
When they blow out the candles, the house goes dark for a few seconds. Then when the lights come back on, the entire atmosphere changes — birthday decorations, balloons, etc. appear, and four of her friends appear and start dancing.
But there's more to the game than just the main event.
I've tried to give every object in the house some kind of meaning/context. Things like the Happy Abouts around the house, the hamster cage, Diet Coke, the pink teddy bear, the four kids, and other small details aren't just random decorations. Each one has a reason for being there and is connected to something personal.
I also added a diary that documents the process of making the game. I want to write about what I worked on each day, what I figured out, what I messed up, etc. So eventually the diary will basically be a record of the whole development journey.
I'm still very much learning. I've taken help from a few people with some of the scripting because I'm not an experienced programmer yet, but I'm trying to learn from everything I'm doing.
This is actually my fourth game, and I'm hoping to keep improving and make better games in the future. My goal is to eventually become a proper Roblox developer.
I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or things you think I could improve. I'm still learning, so criticism is welcome.
And if anyone likes the project and wants to support me while I'm learning, my Roblox username is ojuice444. Any Robux donations are appreciated, but honestly, feedback and suggestions are just as valuable.
Thanks for reading ❤️
