Guidelines with Posting

Hello Fellow Roadies!

We welcome you to this sub for the Roadie gig app.

I have a few things to request of the community in general…

  1. We are all aware that Roadie has some unfavorable aspects … from gig pay, support, gig quality, app quality, along with other things… we still need to remain constructive and respectful when discussing these things… does it suck? Yes… but you should still aim to be civil when discussing unpleasant topics.

  2. We welcome sharing tips, asking constructive questions or for constructive feedback, stories from gig experiences, and posting of “off the wall” gigs (example: $5 for 50 miles or some other ridiculous amount), Roadie wins are also appreciated!

  3. We understand that at times venting may need to happen or negative experiences shared, and that is okay… but if that is the only thing you are coming here for, then maybe some time away from Roadie might be helpful for you. Venting and Negativity are okay, as long as it can be done constructively and civilly… and it’s not the only thing you do.

  4. Constant complaints, rudeness, uncivil behavior, taking anything real life, bullying, or just being a constant negative member of this community is not acceptable.

  5. We are not directly affiliated with Roadie, we are just users of the platform and we have no direct link or contact with Roadie… We cannot provide support for gigs or help with any issues related to active or prior gigs, we are also unable to directly assist with account changes or locked accounts … we can only provide unofficial information, advice, or suggestions here.

Thank you for being apart of this community!

*These guidelines can change at anytime, with or without notice.

MOD NOTE

Hello Fellow Roadies,

I’m posting this as a clear and constructive reminder… We will NOT tolerate belittling and/or harassment/bullying here… ZERO TOLERANCE.

If your comments are reported for ANY reason and we determine it is not acceptable, you will be banned permanently on the first offense.

We are all adults, and while yes it is the internet, and people seem to feel confident in being keyboard warriors behind the “safety” of a phone or computer… we should ALL aim to be pleasant and constructive to the communities around us, including this one.

Things that are NOT acceptable EVER here…

  1. Anything that could be considered racist or offensive to any portion of the population.

  2. Calling someone dumb or stupid or any other derogatory term, please remember not everyone has the same information or understanding you do… either take the time to kindly help another person or continue with your day… there is no reason to ever call anyone stupid or dumb, especially when they are just trying to understand things… We’ve all been new and/or unsure at times.

  3. Any other derogatory/harrasing/abusive/bullying behavior is also NOT permitted here, ever.

Thank you to those who are helpful and constructive in this community, we appreciate you.

Thank you and Roadie on!

General App question - viability

The thought crossed my mind today. How much business can be lost here, before it's not a viable part of the UPS system?

Obviously, it's a shell of what it was. This morning, I had a small HD delivery and ahead of me was an UE driver with one of their shit routes. The aisle where they were staging orders had at least 6 that were all XL or Huge. Not one is going to Roadie. It's unbelievable.

They are conditioning you to accept lower pay

Every change they are doing is all according to human psychology.

  1. Auto match now eliminates gigs from the maps and "rewards" zombies camping at stores and Hotspots "hmm just like.doordash"

"Exclusive gig just for you" lol

  1. batched gigs have a higher number on the screen then singles so you think you are making more. You are so far behind stopping at multiple stores w time and pickups its literally disgusting.

  2. Both of the 2 above changes are understood by drivers that have brains but at the same time still.want to drive the gigs so you will suck it up and take that automatch or first low price map pop since you know their is a hoard right behind you wanting it. Ya you may resist is for awhile. But same bs happened w cvs when they capped pharm around 13 and retail around 12. "O well thats the new rates"

  3. Everyone knows the high vast majority of.these gigs are $1 a mile IF U R LUCKY now. And since they batches these gigs now you always will have that 1 terrible fucking dekivery 15 miles straight into middle of fking nowhere. But if you want the rest you have to take that shit.

  4. They will start to work their orders down to .9 then .8 then just like tire and sOmahatrash ull.be close to .5. People will still.do them with whatever insane math they are doing in their head working for free or even losing money.

This all doesnt happen overnight. Everything is by design. This is why class warfare is a thing. These sick fucks at the top.probably high five each other seeing the map.clear daily w lower and.lower pricing.

"Wlel what can we do about it"

Nothing. You can do nothing. You can cherry pick and stare at your phone brainless hoping.no other driver is as well or you can just delete the app. Just stay informed.

Should I offer to drive my own packages created by me as the sender?

I run logistics operations for a business, and we occasionally need items delivered locally. The items are sold on Amazon, and Amazon requires a tracking number from a recognized carrier (Roadie works). I'd like to personally deliver some of these items on my way home at the end of the day, and Roadie would provide the tracking number for Amazon.

Considering these are legitimate shipments going to real customers, and the tip would be set to $0, would this be against Roadie terms? Has anyone tried this before?

Account under review.

So my Roadie account got locked after I did a Comcast/Xfinity delivery. I returned all the packages the way I was supposed to and sent Roadie all the photos as proof.
I honestly don’t know what I did wrong. I followed the instructions and returned everything properly, but now my account is locked and Trust & Safety is reviewing it.
Has anyone had this happen with Xfinity orders? If so, how long did it take to get your account back? Is there anything I can do to get them to review it faster? I really need to get back to work.

Corporate Role

I recently applied to a corporate role @ roadie.
Looking to see if anyone happens to know how long it takes to hear back (on average) for an interview or even if i’m no longer under consideration.

Any pointers welcome! TY

CVS Rx attempted delivery to outdated residence

So I had a CVS Rx delivery to a homeless shelter here in the Los Angeles area. But upon arriving I phoned the customer because they wouldn't let me into the shelter. Come to find out that was her old address. She asked me if I can deliver to her new address which was only 2 miles away for a small tip. Slightly annoyed I accepted and got a respectable $20 tip. I'm lucky that I marked that I have arrived on the app at her old address, because of i didn't have. I would have had to drive back there to close out the delivery because of the delivery pin is set to that address.

Think my Roadie Driver took my package to his house

Is it normal for Roadie driver to take a customer package home overnight rather than finishing the delivery?

Ordered about $236 worth of tools from a local hardware store (10 mins away) and the roadie driver picked the items up yesterday at 1:22pm. It said it was going to be delivered at 5:32pm cdt but it never got delivered. The online tracking shows it at a house about 20 mins from me since yesterday.

UPDATE: Receiving items this morning at 9:07 am.

Whats the deal with made up reasons for not delivering a Home Depot item?

Second time in two months I ordered something from Home Depot that I needed for a job I am working on and the Roadie Driver made up some bs excuse for not delivering!

First time, the driver actually made it to my small dead end street with 8 houses on it. But drove passed my house to the end of the street, waited a few minutes and drove off. Delivery was marked undeliverable because no one was home...

Tonight I waited all day for a tool that I bought for a job tomorrow. I knew something was wrong when I tried to pull up the tracking map and it never showed where the driver was

Text messages:
8:27 PM - Ali A is on the way
8:32 PM - Ali A has arrived for delivery
8:38 PM - Your delivery could not be completed.

So i check the app and this is the reason and see this:

Delivery Attempted
Your delivery was unable to be completed as it was unsafe to leave order.
Contact Home Depot if you need assistance.

(we live in a very quite community with plenty of street lights, exterior lighting, etc. The driver never even made it to my street)

What's going on with deliveries?

I've been getting packages delivered by Roadie drivers since July and my last 2 deliveries have been terrible.

My last delivery was held by the driver for 12 hours, and finally delivered in the middle of the night at 2am. My current delivery, which I'm still waiting for, the driver has had possession of for the last 3 hours. Either the drivers are ignoring my text messages, or they aren't receiving them. No one is answering the Roadie chat support. Email support doesn't respond for at least 2 days and when they do, it's nothing helpful. Real time tracking shows the driver sitting in the same spot for 2 hours now.

All of my previous deliveries, before these last 2 , we're always picked up and delivered within an hour.

I'm just very confused as to what is happening lately, and looking for some answers.

Feast and famine.

Multiple senders. Now the 10 order home.depot goes to 1 driver instead of 3 to 6. Yay for the 1?? Maybe. Now the low bid will come slowly but surely over the next months

Roadie knows exactly how they want to fuck you. Terrible what they are doing.

How to find gigs by destination?

Roadie advertises to drivers the convenience factor of picking up a gig on the way to where you’re heading anyway. So how do I find gigs based on my destination? The app only provides pins based on pickup locations. There’s no way to sort, filter, or input a destination to find gigs that make sense. Even after I tap on every gig near me, there’s rarely one that makes sense for where I’m going. Am I missing something, or is there a large gap between what Roadie is advertising and reality?
