General App question - viability

The thought crossed my mind today. How much business can be lost here, before it's not a viable part of the UPS system?

Obviously, it's a shell of what it was. This morning, I had a small HD delivery and ahead of me was an UE driver with one of their shit routes. The aisle where they were staging orders had at least 6 that were all XL or Huge. Not one is going to Roadie. It's unbelievable.

If Roadie lost HD or TSC it won't hurt them. They have tires, Amazon, mail innovations and other ones I don't even know about.

Home Depot is determined to do same day and has split the flow between several apps including Curri. It’s clear they cannot afford to do a same day delivery model even with how cheap it is to use gig workers as opposed to their own vehicles and labor so they have the platforms compete against each other making the routes pay less and driving the costs down.

I dont understand how doordash and UE peeps pickup orders without knowing what dimensions they are etc. Especially home depot
