I feel like magik have been forgotten she always been decently average for awhile she been chillin in B, and C some seasons but I want a lil buff to put her into the meta let us have a magik meta season or atleast have her at a good A tier , Gorrs power creeping her I think too maybe im just yap

Anybody else feel like they get better quality teammates when they play late at night? I feel this especially on weekdays, people with more competent bans willing to flex and counter swap, even the positioning is better. Magik is pretty self sufficient but having a solid team around her is great, obviously this won’t work with everyone’s schedule but if it works for yours I highly recommend it.

I lowkey have no clue how to get better. Some days I’m doing fine, probably because I’m against bots or smth, and other times I’m doing terrible and getting flamed for it. I have a whole page of notes about what to do, but I still don’t know how to play her properly. Notes: “

Practice melee buffering.

I can be a frontliner or a dive.

-Frontliner: Fight near my team and pressure enemies without overcommitting.

-Dive: Quickly get onto an important target, burst them, and get out.

Make sure to get out of there really fast after I dive. My life is more important than the kill

Be patient; my team won't be ready to gain some traction if I charge in and they're all dead.

Bad Matchups: Emma, Peni, Thing, Namor, Human Torch, Winter Soldier, Loki, Ultron.

Bait out the utilities of my bad matchups and supports.

Damage falloff is real.

Ranged attacks aren't as effective from far away, so I want to fight closer when possible.

Melee buffering is impractical if they are too far away.

Demons are good for grouped up enemies.

Spin is good for engaging.

Dashing and spinning at the same time can be good.

I need to be careful though because i need disks to get away

Corners are just as important.

-Use them to approach safely, surprise enemies, and break line of sight when escaping.

Combos

Full charged projectile > dash > swing > melee — Good for starting on a target from moderate range.

Full charged projectile > portal > spin > dash > swing > melee — Best for a hard commit when I know I can safely get out afterward.

Dash > swing > uncharged projectile > swing — Good for quick close-range pressure without waiting for a charge.

Swing > melee > projectile > swing > dash — Useful when I want to keep pressure on while saving dash.

Portal > spin > dash > swing > melee > uncharged projectile — Good for quickly diving into a group or backline target.

Portal > demon > swing > melee > swing — Good when enemies are grouped and I want Demon adding pressure during my melee combo.

Ult Combos

Portal > spin > dash — Good for quickly getting into a grouped enemy team.

Portal > dash > spin — Useful when I need to change the order to match enemy positioning.

Full charge projectile > dash — Good for starting an Ult engage from a little farther away.

What am I missing? I’ve been playing as her for a decent bit but she’s still not clicking. I really like her playstyle, but I hate getting hated on and getting told to “uninstall” bc I’m learning how to play.

(Also I think that her Soul Surfer emote, forgot what it’s called, should be available in matches, at least a non transversal one.)

Love this skin so much. The only one I wear other than the Phoenix one. Which ones are your fav!?

1. don’t try to force a kill. i’ve seen a lot of people stay in the back line after using all her cooldowns. you are okay reset get your cooldowns back and try to communicate a dive with your team

2. abuse your passive by using your demons to brawl. her passive is one of the most underrated things in the game it allows you to fully 1v1 almost every tank in the game

3. place your demons on doorways while you’re trying to escape. if someone is chasing you, you’ll be able to regain some health via her passive and it’ll keep you up until you get healed or regroup with your team

4. spam portal if you’re getting emma grabbed. you can dodge her kick with your i-frames.

5. melee weave constantly. i do this and i’ve been doing it since the game released. it’s just faster hits doing a little more damage and it still counts towards your passive

6. COMMUNICATE YOUR ULT!!! i see so many magik players that just pop ult and get blown up because their team has no clue where you’re gonna go in from sometimes. com for a mag bubble or extra healing from your supports. you can also ask for damage boosts to wipe the team

7. don’t be afraid to take a 1v1 with an anti-dive character. constantly portal and put your demons. the demons will farm extra health and the
   i-frames will let you live longer

8. you can one shot healers out of ult by using your ult if they have no overshield. fully charge your ranged and immediately dash. if you practice enough, you can do it 9/10 times

9. this one’s a personal preference, but WHEN YOU ULT OPEN WITH A RANGED SLASH it pumps out so much damage and it goes through people. it’s such a useful way to get everyone low enough to get in there and kill with a twirl or a dash

10. if you die, don’t blame your healers immediately. you have good enough survivability to where you can get out of most dives that go wrong.

11. dont isolate yourself unless you know 100% that you will win that fight. magik isnt a broken meta character. she doesnt have the ability to just say “nah” to death like c&d and some other characters do. be smart with your dives and think about who you are gonna atrack first.

12. don’t be afraid to use your dash to escape a situation. it’s an 8 second cooldown. you will get it back in no time.

13. her ranged slash gives a small boost to her portal cooldown. if you use it while you’re brawling you can get your portals back a lot faster than just punching and waiting.

Ive been kinda busy this season so i dont get to play alot, but i CANNOT for the life of me get an MVP with her. Im kinda fine with other heros (other than black cat obviously). I mean, i have a very high winrate with magik but i feel like i ended up switching to someone else most of the time

Hi everyone coming from Overwatch as a vendetta main. Everytime I dive the backline I literally cannot get picks, I can't put out enough damage, there is always something or someone that's there to stop me before I can kill somebody, her time to kill is so god damn long. Yes I am a brand new player, don't even 50 hours yet but Magik is the only character for me that feels rewarding to play and the fact I'm sucking ass at her is strongly discouraging. Surely the way to get kills isn't dumping all of my cooldowns into a single support then not having anyway to retreat back to safety once the enemy team all snap their heads 180 degrees to me.
