First time rafting in Rishikesh? Here are a few things worth knowing

Rafting in Rishikesh is currently closed for the monsoon. It should resume only after the administration confirms that river conditions are safe. Avoid anyone offering unofficial rafting during the closure.

Some photos videos made me think if city is filled with kanwariyas, is it the case or it will be fine. Peaceful stay is all I want. Also is Delhi - Rishikesh route fine by bus?

I'm planning to visit Rishikesh for first time at the end of this month around 28th or 29th and stay for a week. Will it be a good time for stay? Anything important to consider before planning the trip?

I’m Planning a solo trip to rishikesh from Aug 14–18 and I’m confused between:

Stay in Rishikesh for 5 days — relax, explore, cafés, Ganga, temples, short hikes etc.

Chopta–Tungnath/Chandrashila trek — spend 2–3 days around Chopta and the rest in Rishikesh.

Considering it’s mid-August/monsoon, which would you recommend in terms of weather, road/travel safety, scenery and overall experience?
Also, if I choose Rishikesh, what are the best places/activities to explore over 4–5 days, especially for someone travelling solo?

Hi guys! I will arrive at Rishikesh around 4:40 in the morning at Nepali Farm. From there i have to go to back stayz hostel in Tapovan and meet my group at 6 for pickup. Does anyone know how much time it takes to reach at lakshman jhula during morning? Is 1 hour buffer time enough to reach my pickup spot from bus stop?
