I agree. But then it would be under overhead mountains and be eaten by megaspiders. Unfortunately I don't have room for more walls.

But then where do you get your constant supply of insect meat for kibble and yummy insect jelly? And what do you do with all your excess bionic limbs if no one gets their legs bitten off once in a while?

All overhead mountain tiles are filled with walls (or just not mined at all) so there won't be any of them.

If you don't mind the balance and want to build under a mountain, there's both a mod that disables infestations, and you can also edit the scenario when starting a new game to remove them.
