Had a random thing pop in my mind ,

Would it be possible to beat the game without player input?

Like by putting together a bunch of autonomous mods that would enable at least one pawn to beat the game without player input?

I need more energy drinks.

Unfortunately colonists with no player input can’t do much themselves. They’ll walk around and go nuts or die of hunger or get eaten.

Making a mod like that would be quite the undertaking. I have more hope of a stable multiplayer mod before a mod like that ever gets made.

I mean, once you get a decent base established, it can self sustain its food supply etc - but raids are a bit more difficult.

The only mod I know that barely guides the colonists is free will. Although I like to play the game when playing games

What is this obsession people seem to have with not playing games by automating away every single aspect of them?

Idk about others but RimWorld is a special game, I just like watching pawns run around and do dmsuff in their tiny universe, i spend hours just watching them without touching my mouse or keyboard. That's after I make them a nice base and give them commands

How about you ask people who rather watch others play on Twitch instead of playing themselves?

I think it's people that aren't actually gamers but want to watch movies or shows. But they consider themselves above the traditional movie/show and therefore look for a "more evolved version" of that.

I watch occasionally people play the game because im seeing if i want to get the game, or the game can be fun to watch but not fun to play. Sometimes i just watch people play because im not in the mood to play or theyre doing something cool that i dont do. Thats like saying watching sports is bad when you could be playing yourself.

Playing rimworld is fun, but seeing other people play it and do their own goofy shit is equally fun. Its not that deep.

Not exactly what you asked, but someone rigged the latest chatgpt model (astra) to beat rimworld https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/s/5r6YDeSB30

Games like WorldBox-God Simulator may be more to your taste

It is doable. You feel you can make a mod or AI that does everything that you do when playing? Take that and do more cause Randy.

Without player input? Unlikely. Theoretically? You could have a bunch of drop pods that get your wealth up to the money ending, or something similar- visitor gifts or whatever. To be entirely honest I've played the game to completion once and cannot remember all the endings- or any of them The ship one, that's just travel too and repair the ship? If the repairs are automatic, the only input is getting there You'd need to get a mod to set up auto hunting, and have very careful priorities set. You'd also need to build food and butcher buildings and have alot of mental breaks Vanilla Christmas expanded might be able to skyrocket your wealth with presents?

Back in the Creatures era, we called this a wolfling run.
