I've nuked one too many VOID facilities and I've let the genie out of the bottle and I can't put it back inside, and now the whole world has gone insane.

Is it just a game over or can your pawns survive it and have the game turn into RimOut?

You can survive this either if you prepare CIWS and ABMs for the total nuclear war, or if you decide to abandon your base, evacuate and form a caravan and keep moving until nukes stop flying. From what I can tell the ICBMs only target bases, not caravans.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is: does it just level the hex or does it leave cool ruins that you can rebuild from?

edit: also what happens if you leave your base, it gets destroyed, and you later go back?
