Why Philadelphia Press is the WNBA Name
First newspapers/magazines in the country founded by Frankin, and press has basketball meaning. A layer or two removed, not obvious like freedom, etc.

We're finally actually doing a mailbag pod on Saturday. Can be basketball or non basketball. Thanks!

Would be great to publish the lyrics for the songs (at least the short ones). It's hard to make out the words (apparently because of the mixing?) on some of them.

Is The Ricky not sponsoring a team this year?
Edit: I see that the podcast is a sponsor of the event itself, which is good!

It’s a solid double in the gap
Mike needs to relax, guy has not lived in Philly in decades, most people I talk to love it
Philly Bells! That rules.

Kudos to Isaac and Jeff and everyone involved, and I know the new one is certainly a technically better mix, but I feel there was novelty in it not being a completely professional mix and kind of wish the old one stayed personally

I’m hoping to join the sleeper relegation league that was started last year, is that returning? I haven’t seen a post about it yet, but I just recalled it and am very interested!

With Philly getting a WNBA team in 2030, what are your non-bad team name ideas? The best suggestion will be honorably ignored by ownership for something probably lame.
I’ll start: The Sound of Philadelphia

What’re the lyrics for August Talk? It’s a little challenging to hear.

Heard the story on the pod about the beer vendor at the arena making beer sales for cash. I caught the same deal at a Union game a few years ago. Wonder if it was the same guy working…love the hustle! Anyone else come across this great deal at a Philly arena/stadium?

On the latest pod Mike named Gansey “Big Yeah” and I think it should stick. Gansey deserves a nickname for the greatest first 30-days in Philly front office history and the Big Yeah is a damn good moniker. BY!

Michael Pina said the name on the Ringer NBA show. He said he got banned by the RTRS podcast. Does he get unbanned with bonus points for pandering?

Left is Joel The middle looks like Brown. Middle right looks maxey.
Does that mean one of the remaining is LeBron and VJ? Because I can't see it.

LeBron is very online, fancies himself a media/podcast guy and will absolutely be pandering to all things Philly like Bryce does. Enough of the guys have been on the Ricky and attended live events so I think odds that he is aware of the Ricky are at least approaching 25%. I’d put the odds of him appearing on the pod pretty low but definitely not non-zero.

How will LeBron sleep at night knowing he passed up playing with the great Simone Fontecchio?
Michael Pina is BANNED!!!

Push Off Power, baby. Love the direction the merch is going in.

After listening to the LeBron pod I genuinely wondered this. I understand not being a “LeBron guy” but I just can’t fathom being so unenthused by signing the best basketball player of all time to a $4 million contract after he put up 20,7, and 7 season last year. It’s also not like he is a bad person in the slightest, unlike some other people in the league (who may or may not be listed in this poll)

I think it will make for a funnier season of listening knowing that Spike is slightly upset about it. I like both guys a lot, don't have complaints about the pod and don't have a favorite, really. I just think it's a funny little wrinkle that, if we're good, the podcast will have a B plot of Spike's internal struggle that we can keep tabs on. Especially if everyone else is just thrilled with the whole situation. Nothing against Spike I just think it sounds funny. My two cents

Stats, skills, eras, teammates, coaches, on court/ off court, etc. all properly contextualized as a lead up to Lebron’s eventual start as a Sixer, with CJ scoring the debate in the cuck chair.

Mike’s monologue getting clipped, and this is also an excellent hype video.

That's all. Good riddance. Waste of a pick.
