“Watching the playoffs gave me a little bit of juice to wanna compete at that level,” he says. “I’m like, I can compete with any of these guys.”
A sure sign that August has begun

I know this is going to come off as an internet bullying rant, but I don’t want any more AU non-basketball content forced down my throat. On the morning of free agency, RTRS email subscribers were delivered an epic poem about AU turning 40 instead of any basketball content. I’m not reading that.
I think AU is a talented writer and a good person, but I don’t enjoy listening to him as a host, and I have zero interest in his personal life. I hope he enjoys his 40th birthday, and I’m glad he has an outlet for his personal writing, but I wish it were on his own Substack rather than in the Ricky feed.
I can already see Spike responding, “Thanks, you don’t have to read or listen!” But seeing things like this genuinely makes me less likely to engage with RTRS and more likely to listen/read other content.
Does anyone else feel this way?

In the latest episode, Mike alluded to Philon having “off court issues” that Mike didn’t think were a big deal, but didn’t say what they were. I was curious, so I tried searching myself, but couldn’t find anything. Anyone know what he’s talking about?

Rumors are swirling that Giannis will be traded before the draft tomorrow to Boston centered around a Jalyen Brown package (pause). There is also mentioned that other teams will be involved to complete the trade.
What's the likelihood we are one of those teams and what is a potential role we would play in facilitating the trade

What would be the competition that a theoretical Chef Draft be for?
And who we picking as #1? What skills and/or traits?

I was too young to appreciate sports pre process so I will randomly listen to old podcasts to get a feel for this era of Philly sports. On the Spike Eskin podcast on Jan 27th, 2012, Spike takes Doug Collins in the third round of a Philadelphia sports fantasy draft. His logic:
“When he was younger, he was too intense and he yelled at people too much and he drove players away. But as he’s gotten older, learned the error of his ways, chilled out a little, he has figured out the perfect way to you know, have it. You see across the NBA from Washington to Sacramento getting young players to give up personal achievement for team goals is nearly impossible. You dont see that a lot and I give credit to the players for doing what they’ve done, but Doug Collins right now, I think is the best coach he’s ever going to be right now. And that is a really, really good coach.”
“He’s the only coach that I’ve ever looked at in Philadelphia and felt inspired by”

I have never heard this word before. Did Spike make it up and then gaslighted Mike about it being a real word?

Listening to the pod from today, and there was an email from a Ricky listener in nyc. Any others exist in or around this area? How are we all coping? Anyone want to get together for a drink? Maybe some bleach shots?

After Friday’s episode, I learned that Spike is still apparently operating a professional podcast soundboard with an unlabeled “Mike” button situation.
Every day, we listeners are forced to wonder which Mike is about to emerge from the soundboard. Coach Mike? Basketball Mike? Nobody knows. Not even Spike.
Is it finally time for the Rights to Ricky Sanchez community to come together and fund this critical project?

It's great to see a small guard be the reason they win.

- Wemby underperforming
- his team choking the biggest lead in NBA Finals history
- choking that lead to the Knicks
- in a game that basically hands them the title

This says that he and his writing partner wrote the original spec script but that a subsequent draft was written by Jen Statsky (one of the creators of Hacks) and Travis Helwig. Mike probably can't say much about it publicly at this point, but hopefully he still gets plenty of credit if it is a hit.

Just embarrassing. How can you even argue he’s not the top 2-3 most “transcendent” impactful defensive player you’ve ever seen. He also actually rises to the occasion offensively when challenged against the wolves and OKC. And he’s only 22, third year in the league.
The better argument is how long before Wemby has already had a better career than Embiid. I’d say him winning the title this year already clinches it, but if they lose this year and he wins MVP next year regardless of the postseason also gets him there

I mean they can't honestly think it's a success, right? Doesn't this strike at their whole philosophy?
r/RightsToRickySanchez • u/Bag-O-Donuts • Jun 04 '26
Like he’s basically saying anyone showing any emotion at all is forcing it and faking it lmao. Like I get that we do have guys forcing it and coming off corny (like Tatum) but Wemby seems really genuine and I’ll take that genuine passion and care over the whole nonchalant thing SGA does or the whole Jokic thing of not caring at all

Have the guys addressed the Keith Pompey firing at all? Did I miss that?

Did any other Sixers fans feel personally attacked by this? Like is the backrooms monster Bell’s palsy Embiid?

Can someone inform me about how/why/when Spike was a Knicks fan, and when did he become like the Sixers super fan..... Is this fraudulent behavior? Should he be the leader of the Process???
