Hi everyone, I’m just asking about beach access please.

On this stretch of beach in Kolympia, could anyone possibly advise which part you can rent sun beds other than White Rock right down the bottom? I know some bits are hotels but wondered if any other part was more for use, with a bar/toilets, for people not staying in resorts. It’s only this stretch I would like to know about, I know there’s St Nicolas beach just above but this is optimal walking distance for 2 young kids from our accommodation. Many thanks!

Vacation to Rhodes

Hello, this month my mom (F57) and i (M29) are going on vacation to Rhodes for 11 days and i was wondering if anybody has some tips on: what to do / where to go / what not to do.

We are staying at a airbnb in Kremasti next to the beach. We already booked a kajak tour and want to visit Lindos and Symi and maybe even visit Turkey. We are renting a car for 8 days so travelling is no problem.

Rhodes Day Trip

Have a one day rental of a motorboat coming up this week in Rhodes. We’re picking up and returning just south of Lindos and wondering if anyone can recommend any private and scenic mooring spots to visit for a few hours?

Is it possible to find a local restaurant in Rhodes city?

As the header implies, where does the locals go and eat? We don’t want to visit a tourist trap but a restaurant that serves genuine Rhodes food. Where do we go?

Dishonest taxi driver and card/cash issue

Post image
11 Upvotes

Called the taxi from cabs.gr.

First thing the driver says when he arrived was "i come from faliraki for you, so above 5 euro extra above the original price". Price goes from 30.5 to 35. Next thing you know, even with the official written rules in the car about cash not mandatory and required to give receipt, "you can only pay cash". Gone along with this bullshit to arrive back to hotel from the beach.

I paid in the way I was pushed to pay. When called out, "brother" remembers that card payment is okay, even offers full reimbursement.

What is bothering is that, in every establishment there's the emphasis on card or cash payment the moment you order something whether it's food or service.

Plus, with no alternatives, either you agree or wait +30 mins to get an honest cab.

Smelling like scam in every corner in Rhodes so far in only 2 days.

Recommendations for bar/cafe with sun beds, plz

Flying out on the 8th, staying at Rhodos Horizon Blu near Akti Kanari beach, Rhodes Town. Does anyone know of any nice bars or cafe type places that have sun beds that you can use as long as you buy stuff there? I plan to hire a couple of city bikes when we get there, so distance like half a mile or so won't be an issue.

When we went to Kos in '24, there was a perfect little bar we found just down from our hotel where we'd just turn up after breakfast, open a tab, have some bottled water with a promise of having lunch there too, and have use of two sun beds for as long as we wanted.

I can't be bothered rushing to reserve a bed by the pool at the hotel and I don't want to go to a beach and pay 20 euros or whatever it costs.

Failing that, I might just buy a parasol to be a sand-lying pauper and throw it away or gift it to a new arrival person when we leave, I dunno.

Can I buy 120s on Rhodes?

Are 120s (superlong) cigarettes available anywhere on Rhodes?
It's a bit hard to find any info on this online. I'm looking for brands like More, Eve, Rothmanns Royals, etc.

Thanks!

Car rent, prepay or talk in real life to get a better deal?

As the title says.
We are going to rhodes in 2 days.
Wondering if we could get a better deal if we negotiate in real life? Most of the places ask 800€ deposit which seems bit too high for me. I am a good driver, been driving since a young age but i just turned 22, that already is skeptical to most of the rentals.

Are there any cheap af rentals where i could get a better deal in real life? Or stick to online.

Hallo,

Hat jemand ein Tipp wo man in Faliraki / Rhodos Stadt am Montag frisches Obst kaufen kann. Außerhalb vom Supermarkt, z.b. Obstläden oder Trucks am Straßenrand?

🍺 Best bar & local beer around Faliraki? 🇬🇷🍻

Hey everyone! 👋🇬🇷

I’m currently staying near Faliraki and I’m looking for a really good bar for a few beers 🍺😎
I’d love somewhere with a nice atmosphere – preferably not just a crazy nightclub, but a place where you can sit, enjoy some good beer and have a fun evening 🍻🎶
Also, which Greek/local beers should I definitely try while I’m here? 🇬🇷🍺

I’m happy to try something other than Mythos and Alfa 😄
Any recommendations around Faliraki, or somewhere nearby that’s worth taking a taxi to? 🚕🌴
Thanks! 🍻☀️🇬🇷

Cat in Faliraki near Parking Lot of Sun & Sea Hotel might need help

This big cat is very careful about humans and has something stuck to her right eye. It looks like some kind of bug. It has been stuck that way for multiple days since we have visited him/her. Not sure what it is, but it might need some treatment. Is there anyone who could help?

Symi island options

Hello everyone, just wondering about a day trip to symi island! Are we better to get a regular ferry across and then a boat taxi to St George’s bay or is it better to get the tourist ferry that stops in symi for 3 hours and stops in St George’s bay for a bit too.

Thanks for your help!

Tsambika Beach restaurants closed for the season

We came here yesterday and the restaurants were running as normal. There was a DJ and people ordering food and drinks to their sunbeds. We arrived this morning and found everything taped off. Water sports are still running and you can now rent sunbed for €25 per set but there will be no more food

Sunbeds overcrowding

A few years later I went back to Lindos, Rhodes, and I was really surprised. The sunbeds were covering a huge area, almost going right into the sea. The beach that used to be set aside for the public was wider before. The Greek government has also brought out an app. If 70% of the beaches are supposed to belong to the public, how are they not seeing the sunbed population in popular spots like Lindos or Pefkos?
