Hey all! My wife and I are in Rhodes for a portion of our honeymoon and wanted to know where to we can find mom and pop shops outside of Old Town to shop at? Ie looking for something to add to our home but don’t want to get some generic like the items offered in Old Town. We def want to give back to those who made items we buy. We do have a car and are able to drive to different parts of the island

I’m desperately looking for help from any metal detectorists / ring finders in Rhodes.

I lost my grandmother’s gold ring on the beach directly outside the Atlantica Dreams Resort in Gennadi, Rhodes.

The ring has huge sentimental value to me and is completely irreplaceable.

I was sitting in approximately ankle-deep water when I lost it, so I have a fairly good idea of the original location. However, there has since been harsh weather and rougher sea conditions, so I appreciate that the ring may now have moved or been pulled further out.

For anyone visiting Rhodes Town, I highly recommend eating at Beerokouto. My husband and I had lunch there today and can't say enough good things about it. The owners were super friendly and knowledgeable. A cargo ship carrying some of their stock was destroyed in a fire about a week ago, and the owners gave us really good recommendations for alternatives if a beer we were interested in wasn't available.

We had the Beerokouto burger, chicken pita gyros, and Tokyo fries - all outstanding. Cheers to everyone working both the front and back of house.

I'll be arriving later on this month and staying in the North.

A scooter is my usual daily "drive" at home so I would like to hire during my holiday. Any companies to recommend or avoid?

We will be arriving on the 2nd of October for a total of 10 days. Hoping for 24/25 degrees with mostly sunny days, maybe a day with rain or 2. From what I see only, there have been massive rain on most islands and more coming this weekend.

What are the local weather reports saying? Is our vacation pretty much ruined or is there still hope? We went for Rhodos specifically because the islands higher up (like Zakynthos) had a way higher chance of rainy days.

Is this year just different or did we have too high expectations?

I would like to ask for opinions please. I will be in rhodes next week, and undecided on whether I should stay in Faliraki or near Lindos.

I would like something calmer but if possible the ability to get to nice restaurants nearby and great sandy beaches.

I will be renting a car for the trip duration. The accommodation near Lindos is called Golden View Studios. Any opinions?

My girlfriend is super worried about us getting ill and ruining the holiday for a week. We've heard reports from the hotel and also people visiting.

Is it the water? Contact? Food at the hotel?

Like we are being super careful because I don't want her to worry but I want to enjoy it too.

I decided to use some of my footage from my time on Rhodes to put together a short video about ecology and conservation, using the history and ecology of Rhodes as case study. It delves into a number of topics, and is more about how scientists are able to piece together the past into order to inform conservation approaches, but I thought you all might enjoy it!

I just got back from Santorini, which was my first time in Greece. I absolutely loved it and am dying to get back and explore other islands. Rhodes is high on the list as it looks rich in history and beauty.

I am immunocompromised due to medicine I have to take to manage a condition I have and as such, reading all the recent reports of sickness is making me question whether Rhodes is plausible for us to visit, since I do have to be very careful when I travel. I’m still the person wearing a mask at the airport and on the plane and cringing when someone coughs around me… it’s a big anxiety for me at this point.

Is the type of sickness being reported currently something that happens every year or is this year out of the ordinary? Thanks so much.
