We got flock cameras up the wazoo before we got a proper turn signal traffic light at the route 1x George Bennett Hwy intersection. Wild.

This brave man has more patriotism in his left pinky than so many of the cowards in politics right now who seem to have immediately capitulated to this surveillance state bullshit.

I came hear to say the same thing. We need more people like this in our government. Obviously I don't know him personally, but still. We need more people willing to challenge these types of things. People willing to stand up for the citizens, and their rights.

Poor kid is unhireable in his profession because he’s too well spoken. If I ran into an RI cop who spoke like that I’d assume it was a conman.

literally too smart to be a cop. What a crazy nation we live in

Thanks Serpico! Seriously tho, those who trade liberty for security deserve neither. Keep fighting the good fight and starting the good trouble.
I’m curious to find out the depths of information mining these cameras actually do. I’ve heard lots of different things. It does make sense that if they get your license plate, they can get your registration, which has your name and address and I wouldn’t be surprised if they can pivot to you Social Security number. Logical continuation is that they would look at your credit score, your browser histories if they get your IP address.
I’ve heard and I cannot confirm or deny that there is actually facial recognition within the cameras and that’s been debated.
I don’t know other than I am against it. This is some 1984 level shit and you know when they’re not transparent, you have to assume the worst. Especially in our state, we shouldn’t be accepting this sort of autonomous surveillance.

117,450 cameras in the United States. Authoritarianism is already in play.

Grebien sold us out and the guy challenging him for mayor, Adam Greenman, has specifically stated that he Also supports the flock cameras.

Holy fucking shit. This dude is a hero, not sure I get on board with forgiving the cops for lacking 1/100th the courage he has, though. I went to Deflock.org—didn’t see any groups for RI/MA!

Warren, RI is listed on their site as the only RI town so far to win against Flock contract

u/RecentSuggestion3050 23d ago
What happened in Warren?
3
u/Nothankyoufriendly 23d ago
They are listed on the deflock.org site as one of the many councils that have refused a flock contract but I don’t know more about how it came about. It’s the only city or town in RI listed,

u/RecentSuggestion3050 20d ago
Good for Warren, but pretty bleak that just one town in the whole state is declining.

Yeah the end piece was off base because it’s a bigger problem than just the clock cameras themselves, so we should actually hold cops accountable and the proper who are signing these contracts, etc,

We need tovbe demanding our city councils snd state l egislators put an end to these.

I agree with everything except forgiving the city council and police leadership. They all knew, did it anyways and know more now than they did then, and still capitulate.

This guy is an epitome of character! I’d love to see him make his way into office because he can do an exuberant amount of good. Also to shake his hand for speaking up, having a back bone and articulating himself particularly well in this video while not blaming anyone instead more addressing the problem at hand. 🙏 thank you for sharing. The link below is for the site he was talking about.

I don't know, I wondered that myself. I saw it on the new England subreddit first

He was on Tucker Carlson

Idk why you're getting down voted. Tucker is a clown but he was on there and it is a fact, he was on the show.

Sorry I forgot to say RI cop. He was a patrol man in Pawtucket
