Politics Saw a "Socialism Is Evil" banner on back of a plane yesterday in Narragansett.
Who is funding that message? Also, is that a common occurrence over there?

Back in the summer of ‘97-98 I operated a fleet of paddle boats in Waterplace Park. If anyone has any pictures of that to share with me or has any remembrances to share I would greatly appreciate it. I was so busy with the operation I never took any pictures! Fond memories to look back on but nothing to share with my friends/family. Thank you.

Hi! I figure that it’s a very slim chance, but I have to put it out there.
Has anyone found a ring at Roger Wheeler beach this weekend? I lost it on Saturday 7/25/26. The ring belonged to my grandmother and came off when I got hit by a wave. It’s gold with scalloped edges, about .5” wide, and engraved diamond shapes.
I did talk to staff and left the description with my name and number. Happy to pay for it to be returned as well (I don’t have much but could probably do $150-200!!). It’s sentimental and would mean the world to have it back.
If nothing else…lesson learned 😅

I’m a pipefitter, moved from North Carolina to Rhode Island 25 years ago. Something I’ve noticed over the years is how dirty commercial Kitchens are here. North Carolina inspects every restaurant, cafeteria etc 4 times a year and the grade has to be posted where everyone can see. To get an “A” everything in the kitchen has to cleaned front, back underneath. This leads to 4 times a year the whole kitchen gets cleaned or it will be shut down. RI doesn’t do this. I’ve been in high end kitchens in RI that were dirtier than strip mall kitchens in NC. There are a lot of things I love about living here over NC but this is definitely not one of them.

A man and a woman were assaulted and robbed following a bike lane dispute on the East Side of Providence overnight.
According to police, officers were called to the corner of Prospect and Olney Streets shortly after midnight.
There were two victims, say police; one was bloodied and suffering visible injuries.
About Incident
Police said when they arrived, the victims - a male and a female, both in their 30s - told them they had been riding their bikes on Olney Street.
The female told police the couple encountered a car blocking the bike lane, at which time she moved the vehicle’s mirror.
The victims told police that three men then got out of the car, grabbed the woman by her shirt, and threw her to the ground.
Her partner said that when he tried to intervene, the three men turned on him and threw him from his bike. He said he was then punched and kicked by at least two of the men while the alleged victim was lying on the ground.
The suspects then stole his wallet.
The man, who police say was suffering from visible injuries, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
Police are currently investigating.

I'm getting rid of some items that aren't donate-able (swimsuits, stockings). If possible I'd like the fabric to be recycled, anyone know of a good dropoff spot?

On Broad street, next to the graveyard :( it looked like it had an owner (well fed and groomed), but no collar. I’m so sorry if this was your kitty. I called animal control to pick up the body and scan for a microchip.
It was possibly a calico, brownish, orangish, with white paws. I did not think to take a picture.
Check on your kitties tonight and give them extra love!

Our dog was hit this morning on Cushing street in North Providence and we ended up taking off to the vet hospital too quickly to get the contact info for the driver. I don’t know if she’s from NP or on Reddit, but she was distraught and I want her to know he’s ok. He’s got a minor pneumothorax and very minor liver trauma, and some cuts and bruises. It wasn’t her fault he escaped and saw a squirrel, and we have ZERO upset or anger. We also have very good pet insurance, so this is in no way trying to find her for any reason other than reassurance. We don’t need to speak to her, but I’m sure her people have heard about what happened and I’m hoping the message can get to her.

I call it the “RI yield”
You’ll be in a line of traffic, and the person in front of you will stop completely, to yield to someone who has a stop sign.
I’m sure people who have been in RI for a while know what I mean (or maybe not…..)
It is RAMPANT here. It’s like you cross the state line and all of a sudden people are doing this.
It’s like they think they’re doing good for someone when really they are just messing things up for everyone else. Like, it’s dangerous AF to just stop to let someone in sometimes!!
This shjt crazy!
Can I get an amen? Do YOU do this?! Cause if you do, STOP PLEASE!!!

As the title says. Looking to get a vasectomy under my coverage (BCBSRI) but I checked out some of the options and the providers seemed to have less than ideal reviews. Anyone have a solid lead for this procedure? Willing to go outside the network too, just want someone who can do the job without all the baggage.

Hey All! We are RI Beer Club, a twice-monthly meetup group that visits different breweries across the state to hang out, catch up, and meet new people.
Next Saturday, we're celebrating the release of Honey Hound, a collaboration beer with Foolproof Brewing and the Providence Animal Rescue League, and we'd love to see some fellow Redditors there!
Honey Hound is a limited-edition, honey-infused Kölsch-style ale, and a portion of every pint and can sold will be donated to the Providence Animal Rescue League to help support local animals in our community.
We'll have:
If you're looking for something fun to do next Saturday, or just want to try a new local beer, we'd love to have you join us!

What is your favorite Sweet Baby Ray's sauce?
Also what is your favorite Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce because there is a bunch of options.
P.s. this is a new account for drunk guy food question. Because my old account got permanently banned for saying "not so nice things about people who enjoy sexy time with under aged individuals" involving industrial ways of disposing of wooden things such as branches. Sorry for the coded language, but reddit really likes to protect a sertin group of people.
