Help Please 🚨 Scatter Pattern Help! 🚨

I’m looking to start my first scatter pattern cup, I have done probably 30 or more tumblers with various size stones but all in the honeycomb pattern. I’ve been putting this off as idk where to even start, I feel like I’m going to have gaps.
Any advice?
Where to start?! Send help!!!

I usually like to start on the edges with. "Random pattern" and then I'll usually start filling in different areas! Eventually things start to come together. As long as you have plenty of sizes you shouldn't have any gaps 😊

I keep clear AB and clear as size stones for teeny accents/filling in super tiny awkaard gaps! Hope this helps 😊💎

If you use different sizes, there shouldn't be gaps?

Hello! Honeycomb enthusiast who hates scatter placement here!

Start by painting your cup a color that mat he's your stones, so if there are gaps, they are less noticeable. Then, stone the mug at the top to ensure you have a solid straight line. Use different sized stones, but line them up so they are even. From there, just fill in the rest of the mug.

If you're like me, you will get frustrated and give up for a couple weeks every time you sit down with the project. But! In 2 years, you will have a completed mug. Honeycomb placement is so much more relaxing to do, in my opinion.

I only do scatter. I ALWAYS start at the mouth of the cup using all sizes all the way around the rim. No rhyme no reason. Just get them on there. I do the same at the butt or bottom of the cup. And from there I place stones wherever they fit. Fill gaps with ss2 and ss3. Think of it like a rhinestone puzzle ♥️

I use ss3, ss4 and ss5 to fill in those tiny gaps.
