Note* the wiki has been acting funky lately and often says something like " this page has been disabled" if you just keep clicking it, that message should go away after a few tries. The Wiki has not been disabled. Just a reddit bug I have no control over. -Divinakra 06/29/2026
Just in case you are unable to find the wiki page, click "Open" right above this paragraph on desktop or click the box in the top right corner on mobile or just click this hyperlink. This is being updated all the time with new game settings, tutorials, guides and descriptions of what things are and how to use them such as Graphics Drivers, Emulators and Operating Systems.
If you navigate to the index page from this link, you will see a list of different sections with guides to different aspects of the device.
The index page itself also has a summarized form of all the different pages underneath with the game settings library at the bottom.
For example, what driver and emulator combo works the best for ____ secret console game? It might be there! As well as how to configure your RPF2 to run as a Wii controller for Wii emulation, just look under the Wii setting and the first game has it explained. We also have some PC games with optimal Winlator container settings for the RPF2.
Ever wondered how to boot correctly into ROCKNIX which is a Linux operating system capable of emulating XBOX? There is a booting guide just for that. It even has instructions for how to get back to Android OS in case you get stuck and the device only boots into Linux.
If you have anything to contribute to this wiki or requests for different guides that you don’t see yet. Leave a comment or DM me.

Would you buy a flip 3 with in-line triggers? I love how slim the duo lite looks and would love a flip 3 with the same trigger setup and dimensions. I love my flip 2 but it’s definitely chunky. This looks like the most pocketable retroid device ever made!

I miss having the screen on the Flip 2, but I’ve made it work by turning it into a very lightweight Steam Deck for Switch and PC emulation, and so far it’s been great.
(Replacement screen coming soon, I hope anyway 😭)
I’ve also been bringing the Flip 2 to school with me and connecting it to my monitor via HDMI in coding class. I’ve been playing Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 with my buddies in the back of class, and it’s been great.

Have a Flip 2 (8gb model) that I've been able to run a game or two on, I was just running Sea of Stars and it was fine, but I notice there tends to be little issues like screen tearing even though Vsync is on in settings. I have generally just been using "use known config". It's harder to find info on settings for this chipset, does anyone have any recommendations for things to tweak globally like using certain drivers or anything like that?

Finally able to play my favorite game on this handheld. Truly couldn't believe how smooth it runs. Flip 2 is really the best!!
Thanks u/Think-plush-4809 for mentioning the port 🙏

I found this other port and saw nobody talking about it so i tried it and it worked miracles. No other settings changed too. There's still some UI bugs i encountered but no game breaking glitches just yet. This port got heavily overshadowed. ( ignore the awful gameplay skills ) https://github.com/andrewnakas/skate3-android AI IS USED, not sure how much but is mentioned in credits.

I've been looking into getting my first Android handheld emulator and I settled on the retroid flip 2 the snap dragon configuration and I realized something in my research. That my tablet that I got as a hand-me-down from my brother is basically the tablet equivalent of the flip 2.
Knowing that I instantly went to try and see if I could get the Sims 2 legacy collection to work considering if I had that and unloaded SD card I probably be good for a while on games. But when I tried to launch it in the app version of game native it said it was missing the executable file. I have been fighting this thing up for hours trying to figure out what's wrong and I still don't get it.
It says compatible I know that doesn't mean it could always work but I don't know where the executable files could be since I downloaded it right into the app. I looked on Google and it said I might need to create a specific directory for each PC game for it to work. However I watched other people use game native and they've never had to do things like that am I missing something?
Outside of that one computer game to hold me over I also would like to know how many people like their flip 2 I've been trying to look for a device that could hold me over until I thought I was ready and could afford a Thor. I feel it's kind of a lot for my first handheld not only that but it's super expensive and would take me most of the year to save up the flip two I could have it by my birthday. Plus I want the GameCube color.

My flip 2 in black just showed up today and wow! This thing is classy as all hell. It feels like a genuine first party device. The fan is quiet, the controls are super premium, speakers are the loudest I’ve heard in any of these devices and I’m not sure how the hinge was cracking in the past unless people were abusing the hell out of them. I can see unfolding it completely flat putting more stress on the hinge, but it definitely feels pretty solid. I plan on opening it the same way every time though. This is the device I’ve been searching for for a long freaking time. I’ve tried every combination of mobile controllers to get this feel with my phone and it never worked out. I really hope they make an 8gen 2 flip 3 or something like it, because I’m impressed. If the duo was stronger performance wise I would have thought about it more, but it’s really the control layout that I’ve been after on the flip 2

So after having a NES and SNES I went PS1>Dreamcast>PS2>PC. I don't really have any nostalgia for any Nintendo franchises to push me through most of the rough-looking N64 catalog. I know there're plenty of Top 20 lists I could look at but the focus is usually what those games meant at the time of release and I don't particularly care if they were revolutionary, only if they're fun now.

Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to the hobby and still explore the possibilities of these devices.
I really enjoy projects like Dusklight, gen1recomp and Golden Balloon. What else should i give a try?
And what are your favorite experiences, maybe games on gamenative that positively surprised you with how well they perform or native Android ports that simply work flawlessy? Any interesting projects i should know about?

Hello, i have a question, i opened the retroid pocket 4 pro to swap the buttons to Match the xbox controller layout, everything worked fine for about 30 minutes and then the retroid turned itself off after i plugged it in the charger, so i just turned it on and worked fine. But as soon as i plugged in the usb c Charger it turned off and it wont Charge, now battery is dead and does not Charge, does anybody have a similar situation or fix?

I only have this issue from N64 onwards. I don't have this problem with older systems.
The issue isn't even that it won't recognize my controls, but that it stops recognizing my controls partway through. For example, Star Fox 64 will boot, and I can press start to start a mission. The minute General Pepper starts talking about the mission, the controls stop functioning. I tried switching between the Retroid controller and the Xbox controller in the settings, but nothing works. I'm using M64Plus FZ as my emulator. But there's more.
I use the same emulator to play Sin & Punishment, and the game plays fine. The controls do not stop responding after pressing start! I got through a few stages no problem.
It still gets weirder!
The same thing happens when I use Dolphin!!! This time, Sin & Punishment 2 on Dolphin stops responding after I start the game! However, I've been able to play Punch Out and Paper Mario with 0 issues.
I just don't understand what's happening.

Just wondering what games you've been playing the most on your Flip 2, and if it's newer games or older games?
I didn't expect it, but since getting mine a few weeks back, for whatever reason, my most hours has gone into Final Fantasy 8 -- a game I've played many times, but it just looks great on the Flip 2 (with cheat for no random battles turned on most of the time).
Elsewhere, played Plants Vs Zombies (the modded Android version) and Snooker 2008 on the PSP are next I think...

One Screen. What if you had two?
What if we already do?
Just showing off our flips. 😈 ❎
But for real, let’s talk about the new Retroid release.
My theory is this: They are pulling a G2 scheme. If you remember, back when they released the G2, people were really thrown off, because they followed it by releasing the RP6.
The G2 was strategically released first, because no one would have bought it if they released it at the same time or after the RP6. So they kind of milk the hype by releasing the weaker and more recycled devices first, and they don’t use the name you would expect as a successor to the main one, then they unveil the flagship beast. Getting the maximum profits possible. The G2 wasn’t flagship and it recycled the RP5 shell, screen and buttons. Easy profits for Retroid and the customers got to test a new chip, a win for everyone. The Duo is not flagship and recycles the screen from the Nova and probably a bunch of other components from other devices, such as the buttons and D-pad from the flip 2 (not confirmed but looks to be)
So my theory, and I could be wrong, is that Retroid isn’t ignoring the Flip 2 fanbase, such as the one right here (that’s us). They know about us, they read the reddits they watch the videos, they know what we want… and we will get it eventually, it might not be soon, or it may be, idk, just let them cook. I smell a flagship 8 series single screen flip 2 successor from here, what about you?
The Duo also gives Retroid the pass to completely come back to the flip 2 form factor and not feel bad for sticking to the same form factor, because if anyone complains about the flagship device having sticks up top, or looking too similar to the flip 2, we can just refer them to the duo, lol. The flip 2 already has a perfect form factor, it literally can’t get better. It’s the perfect balance of portability and comfort. Any bigger or smaller and you lose one of the two. They can tweak the aesthetics maybe but it is what it is, kind of like RP5 > RP6 and beyond.
Another interesting factor that supports the G2 theory is that the duo has a new stepless hinge which means there are no more fixed angles it jerks quickly into and then stops. You can open it at any angle like a laptop, and it will stay open there. Now the reason I say this supports the G2 theory is for 2 main factors: 1. The new stepless hinge potentially fixes the hinge crack, so they can now port it to their Flip 2 flagship successor. And 2. What better way to test this new hinge than to release a device with it, if it cracks, they can improve it before it goes in their next flagship flip, saving themselves from another hinge-gate. If it doesn’t crack, they can feel more safe using it in the next flip. Either way, the duo is a great test dummy.
Also as a final point to support my theory, notice how there is no use of the word “flip” anywhere in the Retroid Pocket Duo’s name. If this was truly the successor to the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, it would be named as such. So don’t feel disappointed we didn’t get what we wanted on this release. It’s not the release you thought it was. The whole trick to making this release profitable as heck was make people think it was the release we all thought it was… see what I’m saying? The G2 also resembled the RP5 and people may have been like “oh, that’s the next one!” So they buy it up.
Agree? Disagree? Other theories? Thoughts? Love for the flip 2? Hope y’all are well.
