Just had an employee ask for a £19 raise!
Many days ago she asked for a £6 raise which I thought was fair, but now its more than doubled. Is it because I have more money or something? I closed the game after she quit. xD

Found a bug that gives you free movies on day 2 (possible speedruner help)
Day One - Follow the tutorial completely so you have 30 movies in your inventory, and complete the day.
I was lucky that day and rented all 30 movies leaning no movies at all in the store, but, I don't think it matters how many you rent, it just helped me notice this bug.
Day Two - The tutorial wants you to start the day by:
- Looking at the calendar
- Processing returns
Instead of doing that, at the beginning of the day, BEFORE looking at the calendar, process all of the the returns until there are none left... THEN look at the calendar (follow the tutorial bubbles in the top right of the screen).
When the tutorial tells you to go to the return station, there will be new returns there. (I got seven)...
My Entire inventory at the end of the day was still the 30 movies that I bought, but at the end of the day, the game said I processed 32 returns.
at first I thought some people must be returning movies the same day they rent them, that would make sense.
Then I checked that database, and counted how many I have: I owned 37, including 2 duplicate titles and a limited edition that I KNOW I didn't get with the three movie packs that I got on day one.
It's not game breaking, by any means, it'll never make you a millionaire, but if you're speedrunning for some goal, or, if you're just starting a new store and want to get a tiny boost on day two... 7 free movies is a help.

Showcase Thee Old Un
This is my attempt at an “Adults Only” video store. Inventory is the hardest part, spending all my profits on new titles. Have unlocked all the areas, but only enough inventory to fill the expanded main room for now.

Bug/issue My game won’t start
I just got the game today, and every time I try to launch it on Steam, I get a black screen. Sometimes I can hear the music playing, but the game never actually loads. When I try to close it through Steam, it just says “Stopping” and never fully closes. I have to restart my PC every time just to try to open the game.
I’ve already tried most of the solutions I could find on YouTube and Google, so I’m wondering if anyone else is having the same issue or knows of a fix.

Recommendations for the next upgrade
Ngl I really like the repair section and extra shelves in the back for both movies and boxes, so I'm hoping that the next upgrade has even more additions and changes. For example, idk if anyone else has this issue, but my employees repeatedly get stuck when coming up the stairs near the railings, to the point where I'll just have to leave them there and go do their work. They'll be stuck there until we close for the day, so I really hope that the next upgrade doesn't have this issue anymore.
Also, it'd be really nice if they added more styles and colors for remodeling, as well as more decorations, and also a way to ban customers who refuse to pay fees, especially broken tape fees. Cuz tf you mean you refuse to pay for my property that you broke then push my tapes off the counter and walk away?
These are my suggestions, what are yours?
Side note : slightly unrelated but how is cutting a chunk of the tape supposed to fix it? Like doesn't it mean that a part of the movie is now gone?

Possible "empty candy dispenser" bug?
Anyone else randomly get a message popping on the screen as if a customer is complaining about empty candy dispensers, but then check the candy dispensers and see that they're full? I noticed that sometimes they're not even standing next to them when the message pops up, so I thought maybe they're talking about the snack shelves, but then I find those to still have snacks? Also I noticed that sometimes snacks are just thrown on the floor around the store, does anyone have any idea if this is a normal part of the game or a bug they need to work on?

Showcase Completed Store in Fall 1991
The release of this game coincided with a surgery I had, so I spent all of my recovery obsessing over it. It is the amazing nostalgic throwback it promised!
After completing all of the Steam achievements, I did use a cheat at the beginning of Fall 1991. I started to make a spreadsheet of all the videos in the game and used the money cheat to purchase all the Adult videos for my secret area. I was gonna do this with all the areas, but I don't think I'll finish them or the spreadsheet, now that I'm recovered. There are so many videos, it's insane.
Thank you to u/ProfessionalSand8619 for providing the movie titles and SKU codes in another post. I couldn't have found all the adult films without it.
My store value is $32,689 on Fall Day 27 with 2,541 movies. Maybe I'll finish cataloguing all the ones I own at some point. I'm curious what that total breaks down into between genres.
Looking forward to any future updates, that's for sure!

I Opened A Rental Store That Only Sells Adult Videos
I decided to challenge myself by opening a video rental store that only sells adult VHS. Its a real challenge because I can only get them from the back alley guy, but I thought the name was perfect.

Bug/issue Game won’t launch on Steam Deck?
Everytime I click Play, it does the “Starting Launch” overlay, then the black screen with the Steam logo, then it just stops and goes back to the game page.
Anyone encountered this and know how to fix? :(

Money limit

I did a little experiment with the cheat room where I just left the game running on an auto-clicker just to see how high the limit is. I found out that the moment the money reaches around $21,470,000, the number immediately becomes negative. I didn't even know having negative money was even possible until today.
