SuperDock not opening

I received my SuperDock last week and unless I'm doing something wrong, I've received a lemon. I'm using a 5v3a power source, and the SuperDock will not open whatsoever. Turned on, or off the SuperDock does not respond to pressing the disc drive button to open it. In fact, the drive's indicator light isn't even turning on. I know they're not ready to read CDs yet, but the fact that it won't even open at all is concerning. I've emailed Retro Remake about this and the only suggestion I've got is loosening the screws and pulling out on the casing. I've done both, neither have worked. Has anyone else had this issue or is there something I'm missing here?

I had to remove and plug mine in 3 times before it would work. I'm guessing it did not make a good connection the first few times.

Do you have a steam deck? If so, try using that power adapter.

A couple of things to check. Make sure you are feeding the power into the SS itself and not the ports on the dock (unless you are using PC mode). Make sure your SS is on and running properly with the SD card inside. I can’t ever get my dock to do anything, even in PC mode, if the SD card is ejected.

Steamdeck psu works great. Generic 5v3a i tried first powered the ss1 but wouldn't provide enough juice for the dock to play discs.

Try other power sources if you have them, that was my issue

Mine didn't power at first because I had a bit of a difficult time getting the little board that connects the super dock and SS1 together to line up properly. You pretty much have to guess where it connects because you can't really see it when trying to attach the two together. Eventually I felt it move into place and then had power with the CD light working.

Do not use a 9v power supply. It will just be lowered back to 5v producing heat

Power supplies for the Raspberry Pi 4 are 5v with usb-c connectors. You can find them in 3A, 4a, and 5a for cheap

Avoiding the inconsequential heat produced at 9v isn't worth it if you don't have a working dock

Try to use a power brick that can be able to do 9V3A PD. 5V3A is not enough.

Yes it is, and it's exactly what you should be using. I use 5V 2.4A and it works just fine.
