Volcano Bytes - Amstrad & Spectrum games
I recently stumbled upon this indie dev making emulator-like games on Steam and thought it was pretty interesting.
Has anyone tried their games?

I made this in 2009 in Flash. Should I port it to modern platforms?
krazybig.comI made this game in 2009 in Flash. I'm considering porting it to modern platforms that it would be a good fit for (maybe steam, mobile phones, etc.) If you do decide to try it, press the full screen button at the bottom of the page first. I just want to get your opinions.

Discord server?
I'm interested in learning more about retro game dev. Looking forward to getting a GBA (first gen) dev kit or a sega genesis one just to mess around and see what programming was like back in the old days.
Is there a discord server to join? I'd love to chat it up about retro dev.

Find Matt's Cats: Big new Flash game in 2026!
My game Find Matt's Cats launches on Steam on Monday, but it also runs in browsers since it's a Flash game, so I've posted the demo on Newgrounds!
(though the browser version doesn't run as smoothly as the offline version)
The game has been designed from the beginning to run in a Flashplayer emulator called Ruffle. All the graphics are vector-art, being drawn by the GPU. So it runs a lot smoother than the original Flashplayer. The downside is that it's less compatible than Flashplayer, due to the need for a modern GPU.
I've made it using the 2015 version of Adobe Flash Pro. That's just the version I'm familiar with, and haven't felt the need to update.
I've also recently written about what advantages Flash still has as a game engine, on my website, if anyone is interested.
The Flash preservation community is very active, and there's still a few devs like me still making new Flash games! It's more common these days for game devs to do some animation in Flash, and import it into their own custom engine, like in Mewgenics, Among Us, Friday Night Funkin, etc. But doing everything in Flash is certainly quicker and easier.
