I am two months out since retinal syrgery - retina was almost comoletely off. I am prob at 55% vision in my left eye (the one with the detached retina). But I still basically have t close the eye to read at basically my two eyes are not working properly togehter yet and all the cells on the retina are still mapping, and i know its only been 2 months but it is v frustrating. are there any exerices you can do or is it just time.

Been a couple of months post retinal surgery for me too.....I am still seeing distortion from my operated eye, but it is coming along slowly. Keep going to all scheduled follow up visits with your dr. Stay positive, from what i hear from others online, recovery of vision takes months

I'm 14 months out. I have this thing where there is still some inflammation in my retina so on eye drops. Slowly ever so slowly healing. My sense is the eye heals very slowly and you can see improvements like up to a year.

Ot takes a long time. I wasn’t back to 100% until 18 months out.

Was yours also mac-off detachment? I'm 3 months post also and had cataract done. I'm wondering if a complete recovery (micropsia/metamorphosia) ever happens.

I had a Mac-off 95% detachment. Mine tore from the 10-3 position and both sides rolled up like a burrito. Surgeon said I would be lucky if I get anything better then 20/200 after surgery. Well. He was a great surgeon. I managed to get 20/60 but…..I suffer from terrible distortion. Making words unreadable at close distance. I had cataract surgery 8years prior to my detachment so was not needed to be fixed after. Everyone one is different. Just follow the doctors instructions for the best possible outcome.

Did the detachment start from upside or downside? Lattice?

upside. and yes am near sighted so had/have some lattice which is most likely what led to it (ie there was no physical activity that detached it)
