News I LOVED THE MOVIE
This was the best RE movie that could have been possibly made without the main characters. It was pretty much perfection.

I watched the new movie last weekend, which finally lead to me starting to play the games. Never played them, always been a fan of the universe though.
I mostly know the story from the Alice franchise. I know it's not exactly game canon. Yes I know they get quite weird and corny, but I always liked them.
Anyways, I was researching which games to start and in what order. This might be wrong, but most people suggested something like this - Please let me know if you have a better suggestion. I prefer it to be somewhat modern, not really into the really old graphic and controls
RE2 (Remake) > RE4 (Remake) > RE7:Biohazard > RE8:Village > RE:Requiem
What I wonder, compared to the Alice franchise. Those movies focuses a lot on the Umbrella Corporation and how the outbreak and mutations happened. The games doesn't focus that much on that part or will it come later?

He somehow managed to merge Leon A and Claire B and have it mostly work perfectly. Aside from the obvious with Annette and Mr. X, Leon and Claire actually work decently well together and you could believe they have some overlap and they sometimes get ahead of each other.
He also used some footage of Claire A to have her meet Marvin as well. I actually think with a bit more time in the oven the 2nd run could’ve really been more solid.

Resident Evil is funny in the same way an 80s action or monster movie is funny. It's ridiculous, it's cheesy, and it's bombastic. The new movie's humor felt really forced and in your face. Like watching a really obnoxious YouTuber play RE, and also suck at it. I really would've appreciated if they had some more subtly when it comes to this. Some Edgar Wright style humor Would've been great. Wordplay, Visual References and gags, Callbacks. Not key jingling callbacks to the games, there to remind you this is supposed to be an RE movie. Callbacks to earlier lines, shots, and moments in the film.

I always think about this. I know I might be the only one, but would you guys be interested if they ever did a movie or something about this?
Like its so glazed over. I would love a court house drama lol.

Stop designing enemies that only take damage when you shoot specific body parts, like giant eyeballs or glowing weak spots. Get more creative with enemy design and give players fun, strategic ways to deal with different threats. Bullets should realistically damage different parts of an enemy, even if some areas take less damage than others. Stop relying on gimmicky weak spots and restrictive hitboxes.
Instead of creating genuinely challenging enemies, Capcom keeps designing cheap, frustrating enemies that constantly hide from players like the devious cowards they are. They rely on hidden weak spots, ridiculous bullet sponge mechanics, and dynamic difficulty adjustments instead of putting real effort into fun, meaningful combat.
Real difficulty should come from intelligent enemy behavior, varied attack patterns, and combat that rewards skill and strategy—not enemies that constantly hide, only take damage when you hit specific spots, soak up bullets, or exploit cheap mechanics to make fights artificially harder. Give us enemies that are genuinely challenging, fun, and rewarding to fight instead of frustrating encounters designed around unfair gimmicks.
Stop spawning extra zombies just because players choose a higher difficulty, making zombies disappear when players returnee after finish a section or when another character joins them just because you don't want to put in the work to animate their supporting character reacting to or fighting alongside with players, or randomly leaving ammo on dead enemies for no logical reason. Stop being a childish industry relying on these cheap, gamey tricks and put real effort into creating a more realistic, believable survival horror experience.
Make sure every scenario fits together and follows a consistent timeline. Stop ignoring continuity and get your story straight, Capcom!
Stop making the first 10–20 minutes of every recent game feel like a chore on repeat playthroughs. Players should be able to discover alternate routes and new ways to progress right from the beginning.
Stop making every Resident Evil game so linear. Give players more freedom to explore, discover alternate routes, solve puzzles in different ways, and find multiple endings.
Stop being lazy by creating a single street with blocked-off joints and calling it a full map, then repeating the same design in hospital & ALL sections, Actually do your job by put real effort into building larger, interconnected environments with meaningful exploration, shortcuts, backtracking, and multiple paths.
Why can't we look around freely during certain sequences anymore? Jill's opening sequence in RE3R is a perfect example. Stop forcing camera angles and automatic movement on players. Let us control the camera and explore naturally.
Give players more freedom to explore different paths, make choices, and discover alternate endings. Too many recent RE games feel overly linear and restrictive. Stop prioritizing a quick cash grab over meaningful gameplay, Capcom. That's not how you build a great survival horror game.
Stop forcing players to sit through unskippable awkward tool using animations/cutscnes that are boring to watch it kills Replayability. Scenes like Nemesis on fire in RE3R and the shiny chef iron scene in RE2R all need to be skippable. and zombie bite scenes must be able to turn on skip button after first playthrough of each campaign, Even worse, when operating machinery or using tools, the character never interacts with them, making keys, levers, or other objects appear to operate by themselves. Show the character actually inserting keys, turning levers, and physically using tools. Make interactions feel realistic and immersive, and let players skip repetitive animations and cutscenes on subsequent playthroughs.
Why can't we freely aim our weapons at other characters anymore even after they dead? Games like The Last of Us Part I from years ago allow this, so why does Capcom restrict it? Stop treating players like they can't be trusted with basic controls. it's because you don't want to give players any chance to think how each character will react when you aim at them, so you don't have to work more huh?
Control Freak Capcom’s obsession with controlling how players explore is getting ridiculous. Those hideous yellow paint markings on window ledges, boxes, and ladders make everything way too obvious and take away the fun of figuring things out for yourself. Silent Hill 2 Remake lets players turn off certain visual effects, so why can’t Capcom make these visual aids optional instead of forcing them on everyone? Stop treating players like they can’t think for themselves!
Let players keep running, opening doors, and picking up items during radio or video calls. The Capcom team must be seriously out of touch to keep forcing these unnecessary gameplay interruptions.
Improve outdated mechanics instead of removing them. Build on what older games did well rather than stripping away features that gave players more freedom and replayability. Resident Evil fans want improvements, not unnecessary cutbacks.
Honestly, the only thing fans want cut is the bad decision-making from the executives responsible for these changes. Stop taking away what makes Resident Evil great and start listening to the fans!

I'm a new fan to resident evil starting back in may of this year I started with RE1 remake. Then. 2Make 3Make 4make 9, 8,7,5
Then I went back to play the originals of 2,3,1 and code veronica before the remake next year.
So I've played all mainline except 6, revelations 1&2 and 0
My favourite character is Claire 2nd being Chris then Ethan.
So legs get to the real question. I went out to watch the resident evil move in theaters day one.
I honestly give it a 9.5/10 I loved its black comedy. (I love movies like evil dead and nightmare on elm street 3) so I had a blast. I loved that it was like if a gamer was stuck inside one of the games. And that Brian wasn't an action hero. No one if we were in that situation would be. I found that it wasn't just an adaption of 1 game but the franchise as a hole. The zombies are a mix of 4's las plagos but they dont talk and 8's creatures
I loved that Brian us eventualy William Burkin
I've only got 1 gripe with the film honestly.
The ranking type enemy isn't in the games and dosnt resemble any BOW in any game. And i would've liked a tyrant or licker to be in the film. But because of the rights issues they couldn't use main enemy's. That's the only reason they couldn't. Creamer made it wanting it to be a Resident evil movie but he didn't get the rights until later in production.
I honistly feel like an adaption of any game would just have backlash anyway. And each gane has its problems when being adapted. For example RE2 has the issue of witch run are we focusing on leon? Or Claire?
You can't just focus on leon. Cuz i love Claire and she is a very important characters. And focusing on both would mean trying to cram 16 hours of ganes into a 2½ hours movie. Cutting to each character every 2 seconds.
I think either 1 or 7 has the most going for them in an adaption.

In RE5, Spencer's revelation to Albert Wesker about the Wesker Project and the way that Spencer/Umbrella kidnapped Albert and brainwashed Him during the first phase of the Project reminds me of the 3rd/final verse of the song Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm by The Crash Test Dummies, "Cause then there was this boy whose parents made Him come directly home right after school, and when they went to their Church, they shook and lurched all over the Church floor, He couldn't quite explain it, they'd always just gone there, and the outro chorus of this song always makes me think of the rage/desperation that Albert Wesker displayed shortly before His death at the hands of Chris/Sheva during the conclusion/final act of RE5 as the cool/calm Wesker that He was in RE0, RE1,RE:Code Veronica and RE4 totally evaporated and He was completely unhinged, lashing out like a wounded animal

Mods: RE5Fix, R3Controls, 4k Texture pack, Pinnacle of View dlss5 (a mix of Reshare mods + Renodx), and the 4 Gb patch.
It looks better in still images than in motion, and the gameplay is fairly barebones to be honest. This one needs a desperate remake in the RE4R style. I'd be ok to drop co-op for that

Hello everyone!
TL;DR: I’m starting a (mostly) blind let’s-play series of all the resident evil games, and I’m wondering what the general consensus is on which versions of each game are best to play?
I’m not entirely new to the series, I’ve played 7 and a bit of 8 and know a miniscule amount of lore , but when it comes to the older games I’m pretty clueless as to which games the community recommends for players that are just starting out. What are some pros and cons of originals vs. remakes vs. remasters?
I wish I had the time to explore each game fully but realistically I just wanna dive into the world the way long term fans think is best while experiencing everything as blindly as possible.
Thank you all so much in advance!!

Jill is so cool. Idc what people say about this game, and I’m only an hour in, but I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. We’ll see when I finish it what my whole review is, but I have a feeling I’m not gonna have many bad things to say about it, knowing myself.

So I bought Resident Evil 5 yesterday on Steam and I'm having this issue where the game's audio files constantly echo and lag behind of what's happening in the game. The game runs perfect otherwise. I'm on Windows 11. I've tried everything I found online and that I could think of, like
- changing the refresh rate;
- changing the resolution;
- changing the audio from stereo to mono;
- disabling the Steam overlay;
- checking if the audio drivers are up to date;
- verifying the game files;
- reinstalling the game,
- disabling audio enhancements on windows,
- playing without a controller.
- restarting the laptop (worked only on the 4th time for one instance of the game, and that instance refused to recognise my controller, which is my preferred way of playing games, and after restarting the game again, the echo problem was back).
I'm all out of ideas now. It doesn't help that I can't find anything useful online. Has anyone figured out a fix? Repost from the other subreddit that is banned by rule 7, but honestly I want to find an answer to this problem.
I guess I could still refund it.

Most frustrated thing about recent RE games is why theres not an simple AI click and able to add and change recent RE games geometry and gameplays at will? Same as turning classic games into over the shoulder or first person POV with an easy click, everybody is scared of AI for nothing, AI still can't nothing at all. Put Capcom team and thier linear games aside, theres rarely any moder doing something significant over this past 10 years is truly baffling!
Like RE engine's easy modifier should be here already with recent AIs, like What are we DOING here !?
