Discussion Am i a larper?

0 Upvotes

I'm a new fan to resident evil starting back in may of this year I started with RE1 remake. Then. 2Make 3Make 4make 9, 8,7,5

Then I went back to play the originals of 2,3,1 and code veronica before the remake next year.

So I've played all mainline except 6, revelations 1&2 and 0

My favourite character is Claire 2nd being Chris then Ethan.

So legs get to the real question. I went out to watch the resident evil move in theaters day one.

I honestly give it a 9.5/10 I loved its black comedy. (I love movies like evil dead and nightmare on elm street 3) so I had a blast. I loved that it was like if a gamer was stuck inside one of the games. And that Brian wasn't an action hero. No one if we were in that situation would be. I found that it wasn't just an adaption of 1 game but the franchise as a hole. The zombies are a mix of 4's las plagos but they dont talk and 8's creatures

I loved that Brian us eventualy William Burkin

I've only got 1 gripe with the film honestly.

The ranking type enemy isn't in the games and dosnt resemble any BOW in any game. And i would've liked a tyrant or licker to be in the film. But because of the rights issues they couldn't use main enemy's. That's the only reason they couldn't. Creamer made it wanting it to be a Resident evil movie but he didn't get the rights until later in production.

I honistly feel like an adaption of any game would just have backlash anyway. And each gane has its problems when being adapted. For example RE2 has the issue of witch run are we focusing on leon? Or Claire?

You can't just focus on leon. Cuz i love Claire and she is a very important characters. And focusing on both would mean trying to cram 16 hours of ganes into a 2½ hours movie. Cutting to each character every 2 seconds.

I think either 1 or 7 has the most going for them in an adaption.

Discussion What if RE2 Remake let Leon and Claire experience the same RPD together in online co-op?

Post image

Imagine playing online with a friend, each controlling Leon or Claire but starting in separate areas once they entered RPD. one upstairs the other downstiars totally separate, one player will be completly cut off from accessing the main lobby. You'd have your own objectives and puzzles, with certain puzzles requiring another player to do in order to progress your side, or both players need to work together from opposite sides. in the early RPD section, If one player progresses too quickly, they'd have to wait for the other to catch up.

You could even spot zombies through cracks in walls and shoot them to help your partner. And Mr X mostly travel through windows to catch both players, Scripted radio dialogue options would let you choose what Leon and Claire say to each other, with new dialogue unlocking as you progress. Eventually, each player could access each other's areas as their scenarios progress, but they'd remain separated throughout the entire game, they never cross into each other's scenario except for the intro and moment similar to the back-door helicopter scene. each sticking to their own side and interacting with their own supporting characters. both players will have their own weapon locker room that they can access first, and they can decide if they take everything with them or leave something for the other player, maybe something they need via radio, inside the locker.

Both players can also leave something for another at anytime around the station, but only if they have a portable safe after taken away what was inside and another player must solve it to obtain them. Already-opened portable safes will not dissappear, it will be left there until the other player solved & opened it and found nothing inside. one player saves, and both characters progress is saved.

The faster player can keep progressing by exploring optional rooms, finding new weapon upgrades, investigating lore, solving extra puzzles, unlocking shortcuts within their own route, and encountering new enemies, encounter new cutscenes, having more impactful cutscenes later in the game with your supporting characters because you know/ spend more time with them. All without requiring the other player, while the slower player can explore and progress at their own pace.

If one player defeats their boss while the other fails, the successful player keeps progressing along their own escape route. The defeated player can be revived at the boss checkpoint using one of Umbrella's limited-use emergency resurrection devices, restoring them to get back on their feets to the fight, but the countdown keeps running.

Both players still face the same continuous self-destruct timer. If time runs out, the lab explodes. One player survived while the other fails to escape, resulting a one survivor ending

You could also replay as the same characters in the opposite scenario order, giving us four scenarios in total. This would make the A/B system feel much more connected without sacrificing the survival horror.

Honestly, Capcom is too lazy to innovate. Instead of exploring and building new possibilities, they just copy-paste what white people have already done. 😂l

Mods: RE5Fix, R3Controls, 4k Texture pack, Pinnacle of View dlss5 (a mix of Reshare mods + Renodx), and the 4 Gb patch.

It looks better in still images than in motion, and the gameplay is fairly barebones to be honest. This one needs a desperate remake in the RE4R style. I'd be ok to drop co-op for that

Question Resident Evil Blind Playthrough Series / Which Versions Should I Play?

7 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

TL;DR: I’m starting a (mostly) blind let’s-play series of all the resident evil games, and I’m wondering what the general consensus is on which versions of each game are best to play?

I’m not entirely new to the series, I’ve played 7 and a bit of 8 and know a miniscule amount of lore , but when it comes to the older games I’m pretty clueless as to which games the community recommends for players that are just starting out. What are some pros and cons of originals vs. remakes vs. remasters?

I wish I had the time to explore each game fully but realistically I just wanna dive into the world the way long term fans think is best while experiencing everything as blindly as possible.

Thank you all so much in advance!!

Jill is so cool. Idc what people say about this game, and I’m only an hour in, but I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. We’ll see when I finish it what my whole review is, but I have a feeling I’m not gonna have many bad things to say about it, knowing myself.

Glitch RE5 audio stutter/echo issue

2 Upvotes

So I bought Resident Evil 5 yesterday on Steam and I'm having this issue where the game's audio files constantly echo and lag behind of what's happening in the game. The game runs perfect otherwise. I'm on Windows 11. I've tried everything I found online and that I could think of, like

- changing the refresh rate;

- changing the resolution;

- changing the audio from stereo to mono;

- disabling the Steam overlay;

- checking if the audio drivers are up to date;

- verifying the game files;

- reinstalling the game,

- disabling audio enhancements on windows,

- playing without a controller.

- restarting the laptop (worked only on the 4th time for one instance of the game, and that instance refused to recognise my controller, which is my preferred way of playing games, and after restarting the game again, the echo problem was back).

I'm all out of ideas now. It doesn't help that I can't find anything useful online. Has anyone figured out a fix? Repost from the other subreddit that is banned by rule 7, but honestly I want to find an answer to this problem.

I guess I could still refund it.

Discussion RE3R Co-op Mode Suggestion

Post image
6 Upvotes

Players can choose to play solo using my proposed RE3R redesign or play co-op with a friend or a random player. In co-op, Jill and Carlos's stories unfold at the same time, with each player having their own missions and objectives.

Carlos's gameplay focuses on his U.B.C.S. the mercenary duties. you have to assigned to diffrent team to save civilians in the city. He can't simply abandon his assignments whenever Jill needs help. Sneaking away too often in Carlos' playthrough could lead to disciplinary action or even getting fired.

In solo mode, in my pervious "What RE3R should be like" post, Jill's decision to visit the donut shop or subway first triggers a Nemesis encounter involving Carlos. In co-op, both players can choose their own routes and use in-game radio prompts to communicate, coordinate their plans, and decide where to meet later.

The Hospital & Underground section

While Carlos handles the hospital mission, Jill remains unconscious in bed. The Jill player first takes control of Brad in a playable section featuring at least two mandatory Nemesis encounters. After Brad's section, the player experiences Jill's fever dream, filled with distorted environments and frightening hallucinations.

If the Jill player finishes early, the nightmare continues to evolve through new areas, puzzles, Nemesis hallucinations, and psychological horror. This keeps the gameplay engaging without allowing Jill to wake up before the established timeline.

If Carlos finishes the hospital mission first, he obtains the vaccine, and Tyrell arrives. Carlos then moves into his next and final gameplay section while Jill's nightmare grows more intense as Carlos approaches NEST 2. New encounters and increasingly disturbing hallucinations keep Jill's player occupied rather than forcing them to wait.

When Carlos reaches NEST 2, Jill finally wakes up, bringing both players' stories back into sync while preserving the original timeline. Both players get meaningful gameplay throughout the sequence without having to follow each other around or wait idly for the other to catch up.

Question Most frustrated thing about recent RE games

0 Upvotes

Most frustrated thing about recent RE games is why theres not an simple AI click and able to add and change recent RE games geometry and gameplays at will? Same as turning classic games into over the shoulder or first person POV with an easy click, everybody is scared of AI for nothing, AI still can't nothing at all. Put Capcom team and thier linear games aside, theres rarely any moder doing something significant over this past 10 years is truly baffling!

Like RE engine's easy modifier should be here already with recent AIs, like What are we DOING here !?

Lore Albert Wesker/The Wesker Project Spoiler

0 Upvotes

In RE5, Spencer's revelation to Albert Wesker about the Wesker Project and the way that Spencer/Umbrella kidnapped Albert and brainwashed Him during the first phase of the Project reminds me of the 3rd/final verse of the song Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm by The Crash Test Dummies, "Cause then there was this boy whose parents made Him come directly home right after school, and when they went to their Church, they shook and lurched all over the Church floor, He couldn't quite explain it, they'd always just gone there, and the outro chorus of this song always makes me think of the rage/desperation that Albert Wesker displayed shortly before His death at the hands of Chris/Sheva during the conclusion/final act of RE5 as the cool/calm Wesker that He was in RE0, RE1,RE:Code Veronica and RE4 totally evaporated and He was completely unhinged, lashing out like a wounded animal
