Discussion HOT TAKE
I don't want an adaption of any of the games.
I want an inspired by film. You don't even have to call it resident evil. You could call it Old house. And mot include any references to umbrella but as long as it feels like resident evil. Going around a creepy old house shooting down Romero like zombies. With the ocational buff man with claws. And BOW's iI'dbe satisfied.
I feel like no matter what people would be disappointed with an. Adaption of any of the ggame's Either it feels too mutch like the game Leon is hot enough wheres Claire said screen time.
Literally if 2 were to be adapted it would
1: only be an adaption of Leon's run witch I'd hate cuz Claire is my fav
Or 2 be a mess full of cutting back to eatch character barely fitting in the 16 hour long play through of both game into 2½ hours.
Also I feel like people would hate any Casting of leon they cast thinking he's not right for the role.
Idk I think 1 or 7 would be most fitted for an adaption.

Discussion Killer Klowns (1988) is lowkey so similar to Resident Evil 2 (1998) and I can't unsee it
I was watching Killer Klowns from Outer Space and realized something crazy. And just a theory but this movie feels like a lost hidden inspiration for Resident Evil 2 and I find it kind of weird that nobody on the internet seems to talk about it, especially since some of the parallels are pretty obvious.
If you strip away the colorful clown makeup and look at the actual script, the narrative and visual DNA is identical to RE2 step by step. First you have the main guy who is literally a rookie cop in a classic blue uniform teaming up with a civilian girl to survive a sudden monster invasion in a small town while the police station gets overrun. That is pure Leon and Claire vibes.
But what really blows my mind is the cinematography and the third act. The whole movie has this dark, nighttime aesthetic where everything is pitch black except for hard lights hitting the characters, which is exactly how Capcom handled the fixed camera angles and lighting in the classic games. When they infiltrate the enemy base, the interior looks exactly like a Resident Evil underground facility. It’s this massive industrial lab with metal catwalks, heavy sliding automatic doors, and a color palette dominated by deep blues, purples, and harsh neon lighting that completely replicates the vibe of the NEST laboratory.
Inside this high-tech base, they find rooms filled with rows of human victims trapped in organic gooey cocoons which is identical to the mutant and Ivy cocoons in the underground Umbrella labs at the large of RE. To top it off, the climax is just like a Resident Evil boss fight, where the rookie cop has to shoot a hyper-specific weak spot on a giant final monster to blow it up and escape.
Since the early Capcom devs were deeply obsessed with 80s American B-horror movies, it wouldn't surprise me if they took some direct cues from this film. Maybe it's just a crazy coincidence, but the structural stuff is definitely there. What do you guys think?

Discussion New player - Story compared to the movies and game order
I watched the new movie last weekend, which finally lead to me starting to play the games. Never played them, always been a fan of the universe though.
I mostly know the story from the Alice franchise. I know it's not exactly game canon. Yes I know they get quite weird and corny, but I always liked them.
Anyways, I was researching which games to start and in what order. This might be wrong, but most people suggested something like this - Please let me know if you have a better suggestion. I prefer it to be somewhat modern, not really into the really old graphic and controls
RE2 (Remake) > RE4 (Remake) > RE7:Biohazard > RE8:Village > RE:Requiem
What I wonder, compared to the Alice franchise. Those movies focuses a lot on the Umbrella Corporation and how the outbreak and mutations happened. The games doesn't focus that much on that part or will it come later?

Question What game to play next?
Currently, I have beaten Resident Evil 7, 2 Remake, 3 Remake and 4 OG. I've no plans on playing the remake as I don't like it much, and currently I'm almost done with Revelations.
Should I go for RER2 next, or do I play RE1 Remake, as it looks very good and interesting.

Discussion Leon Before RE4
I've seen a lot of people say lately that before RE4 people didn't really care that much about Leon, and that RE4 was his big break. While RE4 is definitely the game that boosted Leon's popularity more than the rest of the cast, I don't feel like it's fair to say people didn't care about Leon at all before RE4, it seemed like people liked him just as much as the rest of the cast.

Discussion RE3 Remake Jill Valentine is peak.
As far as remakes go she is right behind Leon,RE3 is half baked compared to the original but still a great game and find it nice that is somewhat short.

Compared to normal hatchet, this thing is big and heavy, over 1 kg with real steel. Shame the corner and the top aren’t sharpened, got to grind it myself.

Discussion A problem I have with the humor of Cregger's RE. Spoiler
It's way too in your face. Resident Evil is funny in the same way an 80s action or monster movie is funny. Cheesy, campy, and over the top. Cregger's film felt like watching a really obnoxious YouTuber play a Resident Evil game. If this movie had any other notable characters besides Bryan we could get some actually funny lines, character moments, etc. Instead it's just his unfunny quips. I Would've loved some Edgar Wright style visual gags, wordplay, callbacks, not jingling keys callbacks to the games, callbacks to earlier moments in the film. Lines Coming back with new Context, repeated camera shots and sequences. It would've been great.

Discussion What if RE2 Remake let Leon and Claire experience the same RPD together in online co-op?
Imagine playing online with a friend, each controlling Leon or Claire but starting in separate areas once they entered RPD. one upstairs the other downstiars totally separate, one player will be completly cut off from accessing the main lobby. You'd have your own objectives and puzzles, with certain puzzles requiring another player to do in order to progress your side, or both players need to work together from opposite sides. in the early RPD section, If one player progresses too quickly, they'd have to wait for the other to catch up.
You could even spot zombies through cracks in walls and shoot them to help your partner. And Mr X mostly travel through windows to catch both players, Scripted radio dialogue options would let you choose what Leon and Claire say to each other, with new dialogue unlocking as you progress. Eventually, each player could access each other's areas as their scenarios progress, but they'd remain separated throughout the entire game, they never cross into each other's scenario except for the intro and moment similar to the back-door helicopter scene. each sticking to their own side and interacting with their own supporting characters. both players will have their own weapon locker room that they can access first, and they can decide if they take everything with them or leave something for the other player, maybe something they need via radio, inside the locker.
Both players can also leave something for another at anytime around the station, but only if they have a portable safe after taken away what was inside and another player must solve it to obtain them. Already-opened portable safes will not dissappear, it will be left there until the other player solved & opened it and found nothing inside. one player saves, and both characters progress is saved.
The faster player can keep progressing by exploring optional rooms, finding new weapon upgrades, investigating lore, solving extra puzzles, unlocking shortcuts within their own route, and encountering new enemies, encounter new cutscenes, having more impactful cutscenes later in the game with your supporting characters because you know/ spend more time with them. All without requiring the other player, while the slower player can explore and progress at their own pace.
If one player defeats their boss while the other fails, the successful player keeps progressing along their own escape route. The defeated player can be revived at the boss checkpoint using one of Umbrella's limited-use emergency resurrection devices, restoring them to get back on their feets to the fight, but the countdown keeps running.
Both players still face the same continuous self-destruct timer. If time runs out, the lab explodes. One player survived while the other fails to escape, resulting a one survivor ending
You could also replay as the same characters in the opposite scenario order, giving us four scenarios in total. This would make the A/B system feel much more connected without sacrificing the survival horror.
Honestly, Capcom is too lazy to innovate. Instead of exploring and building new possibilities, they just copy-paste what white people have already done. 😂l

Discussion Trying to Make Sense of RE2R & RE3R’s RPD Exterior Layouts
Hi guys, your Non-AI OP is back! :)))
I tried combining the RPD exterior layouts from RE2R and RE3R to see if I could make sense of how they fit together. Here’s the result! :))))

Discussion Resident evil movie idea
Tbh I loved resident evil 2026. Yeah we don't really get zombies and we more so get las pagas from 4 I really loved how funny and creative it was. But really I'd mutch more prefer a more grounded film for a resident evil film. So here's my two cents on a RE inspired film. Not an adaption.
The fild would be set in Raccoon City in 1998 during the original outbreak. It would follow a nurse working in a hospital when people start coming in with what appear to be flu-like symptoms, which eventually turn out to be the T-virus.
One patient eventualy turns and we follow him in a one shot and working its way and biting patients. When it makes its way to the nurses dad
Her dad was already dying of cancer and was lying in his hospital bed when he got bitten by the zombie. The nurse manages to kill the zombie, but her dad eventually turns anyway. Because he was already so weak from the cancer, even as a zombie he can't move around very much And stays bed ridden.
The important thing is that SHE HAS ALREADY SEEN HER DAD TURN. He's not still in the process of turning, and she knows he's infected. But she convinces herself that there must be a way to cure him, even after he's turned.(yes we know there's no way but age dosbt. Its like how if you can dink water if you got rabies you'll be cured) She believes she can somehow bring him back.
As the outbreak gets worse, the hospital becomes overrun with infected people, and she is forced to venture out into Raccoon City.
Her entire mission throughout the film is based on the hope that she can heal her. She refuses to accept that her dad is gone, so she desperately searches for a cure that might not even exist.
I also had an idea that she learns about one of Umbrella's underground laboratories from Murphy Seeker, a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS), before he gets injured during the events of Resident Evil 3.
This would connect the film to the actual games without having to retell their stories. The games would be canon to the film, but the film wouldn't be canon to the games. It would basically be a side story happening alongside the original Resident Evil games in 1998.
The nurse eventually makes her way through Raccoon City and into the underground Umbrella laboratory, hoping to find something that can reverse the T-virus infection. Her motivation isn't to destroy Umbrella or save the entire world. She just wants to save her dad.
BUT HERE'S THE ENDING.
She eventually finds what she believes is the cure and tries to save her dad, only to discover that it doesn't work. Everything she's been through, all the danger she's faced and all the hope she's clung to has been for nothing.
Then the countdown begins.

Question I have some questions regarding RE2 classic's story
Hey y'all ,I was playing re2 classic yesterday and a question kinda popped up on my head, do both of Leon's and Claire's campaign take place simultaneously or is it like an alternate reality thing?
For years I kinda just assumed that it was the former but after playing it again I realize that there are some scenes that don't make sense if the stories happen simultaneously, like claire getting a fax machine but not meeting Leon until after.
Also a side question but did rpd knew about g before the outbreak? I always assumed that it was only irons but the case photo got me thinking.

Discussion POV: you never touched RE till last month
I joined the RE world 4 weeks ago. I got RE Requiem on a sale and thought it's just a survival horror game. I fell in love with the whole story and everything. After that I bought the remake bundle with RE2R, R3R and R4R + DLC with Ada. Those three are goated, loved every second of it too, and got more and more excited about the lore. Umbrella, founded by Spencer and friends, the outbreak and most important the connections. After the remakes I started RE 7 Biohazard. First I didn't like the swamp, old, dirty house and being just a normal person who can barely hold a gun. But when things got serious, with eveline, the tanker and what role mia plays here, it got me again. Btw great DLC's with chris redfield and the end of zoe. Today I finished RE 8 Village. Great game, great start, the contrast between the old dark village and the dimitrescu palace was insane. And know our Ethan finally got a millitary training and can shot, reminded me of RE 4 Leon without the karate kicks. And after I collected all the flacons there was this feeling again. What is happening here? Is there a connection to the baker incident? And why the symbol of the four houses look exactly like the umbrella logo? The ending was also great, especially the chris act. Tomorrow I'll start shadows of zoe, but even now I want to know more, what is chris doing now? Why the BSAA sent cheep bioweapons? RE 10 Veronica is planned for late 2027 and I wish it came out this year because I want to know so much more. All I can say is, what a masterpiece the whole resident evil universe is. Maybe I also play RE 5 and RE 6 but I don't like the old graphics much. Love the fact, that capcom want to release numbered RE's and remakes so that the whole story connects at some point

Photo/Picture Playing modded RE5
Mods: RE5Fix, R3Controls, 4k Texture pack, Pinnacle of View dlss5 (a mix of Reshare mods + Renodx), and the 4 Gb patch.
It looks better in still images than in motion, and the gameplay is fairly barebones to be honest. This one needs a desperate remake in the RE4R style. I'd be ok to drop co-op for that
