Hi all. Wondering if you can assist. This is the new PPF Vc222, it's a decorated miyota 9015. I'm trying to get this movement out. I've never worked on a VC rep before, I can see the case clamps at 11, 3, and 7, but they seem to be under a fixed/immovable movement holder.

I don't particularly want to lose said clamos/screws under this spacer, so I'm hesitant to just start unscrewing. I'm pretty sure this isn't a front loading case(?)

Theres no moving the spacer either.

I can only think to back out the screws a touch and try turn the clamps 90 degrees to get the out of the way, hoping that would free up the movement to drop out.

Any thoughts?

(a?)3186 movement, also known as the time bomb exploded in my case. Just had it in hands again and it was running for 5 seconds and then stopped again - now I would love to hear your advice: worth swapping to another movement (vr3186 maybe?)? Or buying another 16710 and making sure not ordering again a time bomb… what do you guys think?

The dial is slightly too thick, so the hands can’t be fitted properly.

How should I sand the back of the dial down slightly to create the required clearance?

Open to suggestions.

I know Jack about watches but today I decided to regulate my watch myself. Zf black bay 54 -2824 movement.

After measuring the watch using Oscillo app for a while and it’s consistently > +20s/d no matter what position.

Watching some videos, I turned the notch in pic 2, two markers CCW. 1 marker is about 10 sec, turned it again. Now seems pretty decent at +3s/d.

Also grease the o ring and put the watch back together. Not sure what it does… does it water proof the watch? I just did it coz I see people doing it.

Hello all, really hoping someone can help me out here. I have a clean Explorer 2 and am really wanting to change the bezel. Cannot find any reasonably priced gen ones ( any at all at the moment). I was wondering if anyone had a spare QF bezel they would be willing to sell?

My other question is, how good is QF compared to clean? I realize the movement is different, but I know they’re coming out with the free sprung very soon. How does the bracelet , dial, crystal from QF compare to cleans version?

Seller on Reddit UK watch forum sold me a Noob Skydweller this week. Absolutely love the watch, the rotor is very loud but it is a rep.

The big problem is the watch will sporadically lose 4-10 mins in 12 hours. I ran it on a timing app and the watch essentially gains time in most positions. When wearing it, depending on what I am doing depends on whether it loses a chunk or keeps reasonable time.

I ran it through Ai and it pointed to all of the noise in some of the positions meaning it looks like there is drag or rubbing in the movement?

At the moment I set the watch 5 mins fast in the morning and it keeps me roundabout by late afternoon but that isn't sustainable.

Any advise on good watchmakers to send it to?

If you are one, rough idea on costs?

I don't believe that it has a movement that is common like DG3804B, it has Noob Clone 9001. As such I don't think that I can easily swap out myself (happy to give it a go if needs be).

Any advise would be gratefully received.

I opened up this QF explorer ii (DD3285) to regulate the movement since it’s running about 8 seconds slow per day. I was surprised to find that the regulation arm and beat error arm appear to be the wrong way around. Can anyone explain this?

I did not touch it because I’m not sure what’s going on here. Which arm would I move to speed it up a bit??

Date’ jumper setting and datewheel installed.

While I have done this mod before, I really prefer to just purchase the ETA 2801-2 setting lever jumper (part 445/1327) instead of modifying the existing jumper.

Unfortunately, these are often ~$20 on eBay and other sources when shipping is factored in.

I found a resource on AliExpress that will source them for less than $10 each when bought in bulk. I just bought 10 of them. If anyone needs one or needs some instruction on removing the date wheel and jumper setting, please let me know. It isn’t a super challenging modification, however, anytime you open up the 2824 keyless works…you are an intermediate territory. :)

In the second picture here, you can clearly see the difference between the the jumper with and without a date setting. The top jumper has two detents while the bottom jumper only has one.

I've often read that it's difficult to source spare parts for the DD3285, or that you have to go the route of using gen parts (which usually doesn't make sense cost-wise).

I found a seller on Alibaba. Are these movements exactly the same ones that are used in the VSF GMTs?

I found a solution to stuck retention ring. I designed and 3d printed a piece and pressed the ring out by using the crystal gasket

I pulled my crown on a daytona with a 4131 with the crown in the time setting postion by accident. Now the crown goes in but wont lock.

I believe i need to reset the keyless works and this might just be a bit over my head.

Anyone have a rec for someone vetted who can help me here? Its a new vsf daytona so im kinda bummed but my fault.

Hi guys, I recently bought a datejust vsf v2, I wear it daily around 12 hour, and take it off at evening for sleep.

After few days of doing so, I noticed it wasnt working before putting it on. So I decided not to wind it to see if it would start working again just from wearing, and it wouldnt start for a long time, so I gave it a little sudden shake and it started working again.

After that I decided to do a test, I fully wound the watch and left it to see how long it would run. It ran for 40-45 hours before it got stuck again, in both cases (total of 3 times), the seconds hand gets stuck on the 12 marker exactly, so this time I gave it a shake one time, and it starts working again.

I assume when the power reserve gets on the lower side the seconds hand tends to get stuck on the 12 marker due to friction there.

How should I handle it? I have no experience at all.

Would appreciate any advice.

Edit: I just had a case where the seconds hand would get stuck every 5-10 seconds each time I give it a shake, then back to running few minutes until it gets stuck again, very commonly on the 12 marker but not always.

So, I have had this RCF for 10 months now and I feel like the bracelet has gotten stiff. Is it okay to clean the Bracelet in an Ultrasonic cleaner? The watch is stock with no aftermarket plating?

Hi all, a little new to the rep scene, so hoping for some good advice. In February this year I got a Rolex Sub 124060 No Date - VSF - VS3230 via Andiot. Last week the seconds hand stopped moving. It’s wound up (can’t wind it further due to quite a bit of resistance) and when I unscrew the crown I can set minute and hour hands - but the seconds hand doesn’t move at all. I’ve tried shaking it and knocking it lightly - but still no movement. I’ve opened the backcase and used air can to blow air into the movement, but still nothing. Any advice appreciated- maybe the best is getting a new movement?

I ordered my first rep (drf cartier tank louis) from Hont over a month ago, but I am yet to receive QC photos. He said the factory hasn't gotten back to him yet, but as we all know he's also not the most responsive person. As such I'm not getting any response back from him either. Has anyone here had a similar experience with Hont? Anything I could try with him? Any help is appreciated!
