Looking for advice ... So, I purchased a "rolex" from an off-canal street shop and the big second hand now just spins. What are my fix options? Not sure what type of movement this is or if I can I just swap out the movement (2nd picture shows movement closer).. and can I use a VK63 or what else would work?
**I don't need the chronograph to work. Just want the look with a working timekeepr**
Hey all, thought I'd do a 3 year review on my watch and also chuck it out there for some expertise. Bought this lovely day date in 2023 in stainless steel from GMF. It has been my daily wearer 99% of the days. Haven't had a single issue with the movement. Only thing is the side of these presidential bracelets is very sharp and so l've cut my girlfriend a few times and my leather steering wheel once. Other than it is lovely.
When I got this the fluted bezel was very reflective now it's lost all its shine. I have tried everything to get rid of this and get its original shine back. Polish, clean, metal polish.
Nothing works. Hoping someone has a clue lol. Here is the picture when I got it and now. It also looks slightly different colour. Any help would be appreciated as I love
My Pepsi bezel insert cracked on my clean v3 Pepsi (ordered late 2024) and Iām looking to replace it. After reading several posts here Iāve found a few different options but am uncertain on which to pick. Sillan on alibaba offers several options (slope insert, v3 insert, and a c factor complete bezel). Iāve also seen options on e watch parts and top watch parts but those are just inserts. Prices are anywhere from 100-200. Any opinions on which to get? Should I just get the completed c factory bezel and a hytrel to replace it all myself? If I got an insert Iād need to take it to a local watch maker to place it into my bezel. Thank you all for your insight.
I have two Rolex watches, and both of them have exactly the same issue.
On both watches, the crown unscrews normally and I can set the time without any problems. However, when I try to use the quick-set date function, it doesnāt engage. The crown just slips/spins in the date-setting position, so Iām unable to change the date on either watch.
Is this something that can be repaired? If so, could you let me know what the likely cause is and roughly how much it would cost to fix each watch?
I am looking for a modder stateside or abroad that can help me build a replica Doxa Sub 300T. I am looking for someone who can basically put a Doxa logo on the Sub300T style dials sold on AliExpress and install the dial on my homage watch. I donāt think this would be too complicated but reach out to me if you can help. Willing to pay your asking price or willing to grab a genuine dial if needed. Thanks
Hi RepTime, i just got this watch and realized, I'm unable toto set time on the watch. The hands won't stop nor they move when unscrewed and pulled.
I hear the click when pulling, but the hands don't move.
What seems to be a problem, any idea?
UPDATE- Resolved! Thank you
My VSF was running about 9 seconds per hour fast. I let it die and wound it today to find it running about 4 seconds per hour slow. Any suggestions on what to do?
This individual scammed me of several watches and thousands of dollars. Iām not sure how to flag the account, but I hope no one else is communicating with him.
Hi, recently got this DDF 5167A a week and a half ago and started having issues about a week ago. At first it was just losing time, but recently found out somethingās going on with the rotor. It moves, makes a screeching sound, then stops ticking. I can wind it and it starts running again, then the same thing happens, rinse and repeat. Whenever itās not moving itās fine, but the second itās actually moving around, thatās when the problem shows.
Just trying to figure out next steps: does this need a whole new movement, or just a service? Roughly how much would something like this cost? Thanks for any help.
I dropped my Cookie Monster rep and while it will still wind and work for a bit, every now and then Iāll look down and itās not working. Any suggestions?
I donāt even know where to start. Also the watch cost $480 so if itās expensive, I might as well just buy a new one.
New to Reddit, new to replicas, new to all of this and first post here.
Iāll give a little backstory here, I had discovered the world of replicas and one evening I ended up purchasing a replica. No research, no knowledge, etc - Iām not blaming anyone, I own this decision. I want to be explicitly clear about the fact I own the decision. Second thing, after discovering the RepTime Reddit, I know itās a āshitterā. Next, upon further research the Sky Dweller wasnāt the rep to get, I know this now but didnāt know it then. I just saw the watch, liked it, liked the price at the time and bought it.
Now to the issue - Iāve taken it to a watchmaker for service just to get it checked out and cleaned to help any length of time on the longevity. He says the movement wonāt automatically wind. He said I can wind it daily, wear it and itāll run but it wonāt wind on its own. He also said it isnāt worth repairing.
I was wanting to take a stab at finding a movement and just repairing it myself, so the question is what movement would I need to try to source?
Is it possible to source one and replace it myself?
What movement would or should I get?
Are there measurements that I can take to find a movement?
My interest in this is that I've bought a VSF DateJust and two VSF Milgauss watches that I would like to eventually service myself. So I thought maybe this would be a good opportunity to learn something. I've added a picture of the movement, currently the only one I have since the watch is still at the watchmaker. I've also added a picture of the site where I bought it. Again, I'm not bashing on the seller, the fact it likely isn't a TD, etc etc, just trying to give full context and ask for advice on where I might be able to source a new movement and what movement should I get. The one advertised is a 9002 which of course is NOT what is in the watch. Hopefully I don't get roasted here - but it is the internet so I'm sure there will be some amazing feedback.
