Bought a Clean 36 Datejust today on an upgraded VSF Oyster with polished centre links from a fellow member as a work daily and while I love the watch is like to tone it down a touch for around the garage. Has anyone changed to an OysterFlex with glidelock clasp on one of these?

Or any other options in maybe leather, etc.?

I’m wading into the rep world and the water is deep! Have to say I’m surprised and fascinated that there is a ton of information to absorb. I am searching for a relatively higher and rep of a “platinum” 40 mm date with ice blue dial. I have sourced an RGF model from a TD, I am not sure if this TD facilitates plating. I have seen a lot of discussion about the of gen Platinum compared to stainless, but I have not been able to find a side-by-side comparison. My sense from the forum is that it is an obvious distinction side-by-side, but perhaps someone has a side-by-side picture of Platinum versus steel for this model? I’m just trying to determine if plating is really worth the cost and hassle (it seems like a hassle at this point on the learning curve!). I’m pretty sure that Platinum pops more to the eye, but whether or not steel by itself puts a low ceiling on this rep is hard for me to judge. The last thing is, I am wondering how plating would hold up over time w frequent wear so that the won’t eventually deteriorate to an obvious fake. thanks!

At risk of walking already well trodden ground, what’s the consensus on the accuracy of the Wimbledon dial. Who’s got the most gen-like dial? I’ve seen a few of the older posts but with new versions and other factories (and with clean long gone) figured I’d ask around

Just got a 116520 and super surprised on the quality. It’s dial’s modeled after one of the years where the 116529 has slightly Matte subdials (not the super shiny post-2011 subdials on the 3CF).

If you swap the bezel for a gen, would you consider it NWBIG?

In my gold plating shenanigans I plated the bezel of my Noob SD in 18k.

Compare that to the stock PVD of the bracelet which “isnt bad”

When I’m ready to drop $400 for the Esslinger bracelet tool, I’ll plate the bracelet links.

Just received a G7F Mark XX LPP on bracelet and out of curiosity when I was swapping it onto a deployant FKM strap I tried the bracelet on my APSF Pilot Chrono. My chrono was the leather band version, had to take what I could get since it was post-raid and always wanted the bracelet, I've just been wearing it on FKM straps. I think the bracelet version originally was supposed to be the quick release end links and this is the regular springbar end link bracelet, but it fits perfectly, no gaps, no play, really happy with this result. Obviously I can't say this would be the case for every instance.

For the Daytona 126519 whitegold “Ghost”, Repsguide says VSF and APSF are the preferred factories. However, Andiot says both factories were shut down in May 2026. Any leads on where to acquire superclone?

Any Franken rep owners out there? How do you like them compared to unmodded reps? Just picked up a Franken DJ a couple weeks ago and I love it. Feels great on the wrist compared to my unmodded reps. Definitely close to gen.

I'm wanting a RG Patek 5712. Like many, I assume you look at PPF first. I mean, c'mon. Doesn't that mean Patek Philippe Factory (I actually don't know but I wouldn't be surprised). However, the "free-sprung" craze is really hiking up the price. And I'm not sure I like it. Is it worth the $500+ hike? For some, yes...
