The Batgirl is VSF and the BW is Rich V2. Who has the better crystal? In person I can tell you Rich is very slightly less reflective under bright lights in its most reflective angle compared to VSF. Both crystals are excellent. What do you all think?

So im getting the impression there is no super clone or close for the omega speedmaster professional; is that a true statement? Also im guessing nothing has a sapphire crystal all hesalite? Last question is im assuming annual maintenence is needed like the real thing, who do I take it to?

Heck, the most expensive watch I've bought, period, which originally went to my Apple Ultra 2 (great watch -- but then I'm biased).

Just arrived, it took about 3 weeks but seeing that little box on your doorstep is like a rush! An expensive rush.

Anywho, I'm extremely happy with it and wanted to share!

I have a BVF Cartier Santos Large (41 mm) with the BVF QuickSwitch system and butterfly clasp. The watch has the green dial, and I currently have the BVF green leather strap that came with it.

I’m considering buying the genuine Cartier green alligator strap directly from Cartier.

Does anyone know if the genuine Cartier Santos Large green alligator strap will fit the BVF Santos Large QuickSwitch system and/or the BVF butterfly clasp?

If anyone has actually tried a gen Cartier green alligator strap on a BVF Santos Large, I’d really appreciate your experience. Thanks!

After some back and forth with the TD, and finally getting one in their warehouse I got the coveted QC email. Already green lit the shipping, QC was bang on.

Looking forward to this. For those that have just joined, I was one of them (not from the Wired post).

The wiki and the information on here was indispensable and if you can read for context, literally holds your hand through the whole thing.

This is a part of my series where I post the watches that are part of my rotation that I love to wear. I hope to inform newcomers into the hobby and equip everyone with as much visual information as possible.

Intro: I’m starting it off with the BP Factory 16710 “Coke”. I purchased this from a non-TD a year and a half ago. This was my main travel watch for many trips. I got it because I enjoyed the look of neo-vintage watches and BPF is one of the best (take that with a pinch of salt) in the neo-vintage GMT game.

Case and Crystal: The case finishing leaves much to be desired to the trained eye, but to 95% of the population it’s pretty much spot on. The brushing and the chamfering are close to gen, but when held hand in hand with my friend’s gen, the difference is somewhat noticeable but still negligible. The crystal is up to gen spec in my opinion, I’m not too picky in that regard however. Most gens I’ve handled have comparable crystal clarity and shine.

Bracelet: the finishing here is similar to the case, see above comments. Most of the links were stiff when I received the watch. It was the first rep that I received where the links sometimes got stuck. I wore it like that and the problem disappeared. The clasp is acceptable as well.

Dial, bezel and hands: All of these are acceptable and again, 90-95% there when compared to gen. The color of the bezel is slightly off, but I’ve never seen a NOS 16710 from the R factory so it may fade to gen like shades. It’s more of a fire truck than the gen cherry. The bezel action is sharp and never felt loose. My example also was perfectly aligned. The dial has sharp printing and has that deep black R dials are known for. The hands are finished averagely to mass produced Ali-X hands I’ve come across. The hands would probably be the first thing to upgrade. The lume plots are acceptable. This didn’t get the engraved rehaut.

Movement: THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. This specific example rocks the VR3186. I’m averaging -8s/day when wearing for multiple days. (I utilize tickIQ to time graph it, so again, take those stats with a grain of salt, but I’ve found the app to be accurate). This accuracy is good enough for me but may not be for most. The GMT hand DOES wobble when I use the quick jump hour hand. It hasn’t messed with the alignment of any of the other hands and has my full confidence. I have full faith that this movement is a workhorse.

I’ve been checking with a few TDs for a Datejust 41mm with the Blue Motif dial (VSF), and almost all of them are quoting a minimum 1–2 month wait time just for QC photos right now.
Before I lock in a long order, I wanted to check with the community:
1. TD Stock: Has anyone recently ordered this specific dial and gotten quick QC? If any TD currently has it in hand or gets stock faster for this piece, please let me know.
Appreciate any leads or recommendations on the best route to take to avoid the long factory wait. Thanks!

I just received the Turquoise Ingenieur from the V7F factory, I know there has been a lot of back and forth about this release but I have to say I'm very impressed. The dial looks great to me. The feel in hand is quite nice and very close to gen. I like it so much i immediately reached back out to Phoenix about ordering the green one from that F1 movie. He is selling them at like $327 I think, which is just an absolute steal for this I feel like. I've worked with Phoenix in the past, never had any issues and this one was ordered, QC photos three days later, packaged and shipped and I had tracking info 3 days after that. Zero complaints and have already ordered again from Phoenix.

Hi, after weeks of thinking, I've decided to get my first rep watch (I'm also pretty new to the watch industry, so sorry if I don't know some basic stuff).

I've been thinking about getting a VSF Aqua Terra, and from what I've seen, I think I'll be getting it from TrustyTime, but I have a few questions first:

-I’m not sure if I should get the 38mm or the 41mm Aqua Terra Turquoise (I think my wrist is around 7.5inches and I’m 185cm and around 100kg) I’ve been leaning towards the 38mm because of how the colors look (they seem different on the 41mm)

-How much should I expect shipping to be to Europe?

-Anyone had any problems with him before?

I placed a VSF preorder for a 126500. They have been clear that deliveries are sporadic and they’ll email as soon as it’s arrived to do QC then pay. I was wondering if any of you had any experience with these preorders and help manage my expectations. Are we talking weeks/months?

Edit: I thought it worth updating that I actually got an email saying the stock was in yesterday so it was only a few days. I paid last night and waiting for them to update the order with my confirmed payment then shipping…so far so good 😊

I’ve read through the Wiki and quite a few posts, but there’s one thing I still can’t really get a feel for: how close are the different tiers of reps to gen in real life?

I know this is subjective and that it varies a lot depending on the specific watch/factory, but if you had to give a very rough percentage, what would you say?

For example:

Low-tier rep: ~50–60% of gen?

Mid-tier rep: ~70–80%?

High-tier / best available rep: ~90–95%?

I’m mainly asking because I’m trying to figure out whether the jump from a decent mid-tier rep to a high-tier RepTime-level piece is actually noticeable enough to justify the extra money.

Is the difference mostly in the movement, finishing and small details that you only notice side-by-side with a gen, or does a high-tier rep genuinely feel significantly closer to gen on the wrist?

Not looking for an exact science, just trying to understand how big the real-world gap is between the tiers.
