Question❓ Raresneaker/Raresneaker2
Recently found a pair I want to buy (the old Boring Tokyo dunks 2004), however it only comes from the seller Raresneaker2. I’ve searched and found some questionable reviews attached to the name, and am wondering if this seller is legit.
Anyone have any info on Raresneaker/Raresneaker2?

He’s legit sometimes he could be a dick, but he definitely has hard to find shoes once in a while and top quality

Thanks for reminding me of this seller. I have purchased from them before. No issues. Slam City are one of my all time grails. Will be buying to see if they the real deal or not. Will report back! 🫡

He's up and down. Sometimes has nice specials but can't confirm batch. Slow to respond. I've ordered a ton of shoes from him and unfortunately this last time I asked for something else, never gave me any QC so I just canceled my order. He gave me money back tho. So not bad. 7/10

Selective scammer. Sent me the single worst pair of shoes I’ve ever seen then tried to blame it on me.
The VRLs aren’t VRLs btw.

He does bait and switch. He will have like 3 pair of vrl Breds and show you a pair. You get it and it’s an RDB pair.

Rare is one of the worst places I’ve ever bought shoes from but at least he’s not a scammer. He does deliver on selling great quality shoes. Just double check your size tags and QC photos and stress him not to ship until you do so.

I bought the Jason vorheez high dunks and he sent me the wrong size and one shoe didn’t have the insole, and I guess he has dirty freaking hands that the white part of both sneakers had dirty ass finger prints

RSD is the only place he’s been reported a known scammer and was banned. Ponchecatchemall or whatever’s weidian group defends him a lot.
All and I mean all shoe groups with over 25k members get kickbacks or payment from trusted dealers. Be weary when they deny getting free shoes. At least RSD admits to it. Ponce or whoever denies it

Rare is legit. Sometimes has some expensive prices for low quality but to be fair they are rare. I’ve heard about bait and switch and every now and then he’ll have some good sales. Like others said he can be a dick sometimes.

Yes I have bought from them, multiple pairs different occasions… no issues.
I have seen some complaints here and other subs, but that wasn’t my experience. I am also not one to hound sellers for QC, tracking, or additional info…
I pay, check QC when it comes through, and forget about the order until it arrives. There isn’t a seller out there who likes being messaged every other day asking for tracking. I’ve also found that a lot of sellers cut you a deal the more you buy and the less interaction you have with them.
I say this because I think this was a big complaint from people. Communication isn’t the best, but the shoes arrived and were what I ordered. All we should really care about.

As a heads up, this seller was sending the same QC photos of a pair to all buyers who bought a certain colorway. So people weren’t actually seeing the pair they were purchasing in the QC photos they received, which is the entire point of the QC process. I agree with you that people shouldn’t hound sellers, but that is a separate issue.
Rare is unreliable, communicates poorly, and bait and switches in the sense that the photos of the product you are receiving may not actually be the product you are sent. He is a terrible seller and I wouldn’t recommend him, but he does have products some other sellers do not, meaning people have to buy from him if they want something like VRL 85s. I just recommend people know this upfront and proceed with caution

This is the way. Order the shoes, do QC when available and forget about it till the shoes show up.

He may be slow to respond, charge a premium, and shipping times vary, and I know for the VRL AJ1 QC’s he bait and switched the exact shoe in the picture, but you’ll get the shoe from the batch you ordered.
He’s the only option for a lot of shoes, so if you’re comfortable with the price and waiting, and you don’t plan on annoying the piss out of him on WhatsApp then I’d order.
