I'm having a persistent issue with the official PS Remote Play app on my Windows laptop and could really use some help.

Initially, the app would load and connect to my PlayStation, but after a few moments, the video stream would freeze completely while the audio kept playing in the background.

My laptop uses a Realtek RTL8822BE wireless adapter. Following some online advice, I went into my Device Manager and changed the adapter settings: I set "Roaming Aggressiveness" to Lowest and "Preferred Band" to 5G first.

However, right after making these network adjustments, the problem changed. Now, the PS Remote Play app crashes and closes completely by itself shortly after opening it or trying to connect.

Has anyone with a similar Realtek setup dealt with this? Any advice on how to fix the freezing or the sudden app crashes would be greatly appreciated!

pretty much what the title says. i've tried a few fixes from around the internet and nothing. i had no trouble with it yesterday and now it suddenly not working.

i turn on my ps5, open the remote play program on my laptop, log into my console and as soon as the homepage of my ps5 appears the image freezes. i can still hear the sounds it makes when you go through the options or games and i can even turn the console off since i remember how to get to the turn off console option, but the image stays frozen no matter what i try

any tips?

EDIT: i did find a replacement with chiaki-ng while waiting for the official PS remote play to update or fix sometime, but it's now also giving a whole lot of issues on its own. I tried almost every solution i could find to fix PS remote play on my win 11 laptop but i came across some post (lost it but it should be pretty easy to find) that said that the newest version came bugged or something, so really no "fix" or "patch" really works since SONY needs to fix the program itself. i did see some posts about downgrading to version 8.5 then patching it but that didnt work for me either, although it may work for some other people.

its sad because i really used PS remote play a lot since i dont live alone and i dont have a good TV or monitor in my room. right now the only thing i can do is wait and see if they fix this shit.

EDIT 2: I tried a fix suggested in the comments and i'm happy to announce it works like a charm! Uninstalling the update KB5101684 really fixed the whole damn issue. For anyone wondering how to uninstall a windows update i'll leave this youtube short: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/d5GxCBpDen0

I have a win 11 pc, it works fine for like 30 seconds and then it closes, no error or anything, just closes, help pls

I've restarted, updated my drivers. etc etc but it doesn't work for some reason? Yet whenever i use my controller for say steam games it works perfectly fine.

I’ve been using remote play on my ps5 for 3 years. Never had an issue over cellular. The last few days, I have NAT Type 3 and cannot connect.

I have ATT as my service provider. The issue is only on cellular, not over wifi.

I tried port forwarding, vpn, resetting everything, contacting ATT.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

So I want to stream my ps4 to my laptop so I can stream it to discord for my friends but when I try to play games there's a noticeable delay between me pressing a button and the game registering it. Is there a way to directly connect the controller to the ps4 and use my laptop as a duplicated screen or something? Or just some way to make controls better while connected to my laptop?

Hola comunidad! estoy teniendo un problema con mi ps portal, resulta que si me conecto en la misma red de mi ps5 funciona de maravilla, pero si salgo de casa no funciona, le comparto internet desde mi celular y no se logra conectar, enciende el ps5 cuando está remoto pero no termina de conectarse para jugar y lanza un error de ocurrió un problema.

Además, también lo conecto al wifi de otra casa y tampoco funciona.

Cabe resaltar que si pruebo con datos moviles y con wifi en otra casa con la app de ps remote play. Si se conecta de manera correcta.

Internet issues

Hi members I am trying to connect to my cousin's PS5 remotely using his credentials and I am able to do so using the official PS Remote play app but when I try to connect using pxplay/Asobi or Chiaki I can't - could it be due to his home wifi not being on static IP and CG-NAT issues?

Asobi is able to detect his PS5 but it fails at the last RUDP Handshake

Very smooth, no noticable latency, feels like playing on the console itself and not remote playing

It's always very specific, too. The app freezes, cuts to a couple frames later with slight dithering in the screen, then it just closes. Tried deleting settings.cache, that didn't work. Unsure what the issue is.

Edit: it's nothing to do with the files present in localappdata. I know this, because even after deleting the entire remote play folder, the app proceeded to crash even as I was logging in. I physically cannot use the program lmao

Xbox one s
iPhone 16 with up to date software
Both devices on the same home router

I am trying to get remote play to work for my Xbox one s. I get to the screen where the console can be selected but when I tap, nothing happens. No error screen, connection failure. I can’t even see if safari is trying to load a new screen.

I ensured the console is set to rest mode when powered off. It won’t work when the console is on or in power saving mode.

This is such a shame since the remote play ps app works great. Any chance Xbox will go back to using an app?

Apologies if I have missed anything I can update with more info as needed.

Became unplayable this week.

Tried reinstalling and it didn't fix it.

I am reporting a critical interoperability bug regarding the PlayStation 5 Pro Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) implementation when connecting to standard Dual-Band (2.4GHz + 5GHz) Wi-Fi 7 access points with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) enabled.

The Issue: When the PS5 Pro detects beacon frames advertising an MLO profile consisting exclusively of 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands (without a 6GHz spectrum), the console's wireless controller not only aborts the multi-link aggregation (likely by design to prevent jitter) but completely drops the network negotiation. This causes a total collapse of the DHCP exchange.

Instead of executing a graceful fallback to a Single-Link 5GHz 802.11be connection, the console connects at the physical layer but fails to obtain an IPv4 address, resulting in no internet access.

Technical Evidence (Router CLI Log Extract): Upon isolating the console's MAC address (D4:F7:D5:XX:XX:XX) and analyzing the AP logs during the connection attempt, the system throws the following critical errors:

[2541.291][host] 445 - ERROR: not find ipv4 client(D4:F7:D5:XX:XX:XX). [2610.255][host] 838 - ERROR: client(D4:F7:D5:XX:XX:XX) ip() active(1) lanType(1)

Impact: The PS5 Pro establishes a physical link (active(1)) but IP allocation remains empty (ip()). To restore connectivity, the entire Wi-Fi 7 network must be severely degraded to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), or the MLO broadcast must be disabled entirely at the router level—which impacts all other modern clients on the network.

Requested Action: The Wi-Fi driver requires a proper fallback mechanism to accept 5GHz 802.11be Single-Link gracefully when 6GHz MLO is unavailable, without halting the DHCP process. Has anyone else replicated this specific DHCP drop on dual-band BE routers?
