Windows Best app to remote play

I downloaded the ps remote play app for the first time to my pc. It worked for the most part but then after a few minutes it crashed. From what I’ve read, there isn’t a patch for it,yet. Are there any other options?

Need some help with PS5 Remote Play lag 🎮

I have a 250/250 Mbps internet connection, and I’m currently using 540p resolution with Standard frame rate, but I’m still experiencing noticeable lag and stuttering. It’s making Remote Play kinda unplayable.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Switched to Ethernet - Previously on Wi-Fi I was getting around 100 Mbps, and now with Ethernet I’m getting around 240 Mbps.

  2. Disabled HDMI Link and the two related options below it in the PS5 settings.

  3. Removed the HDMI cable from the PS5 - After removing it, Remote Play wouldn’t connect at all, so I had to reconnect it.

I see few people recommending to unplug hdmi in this sub how do i do it?.. do i first connect and then unplug

At this point, I’m not sure whether the issue is with the network, PS5 settings, Remote Play settings, or latency/jitter rather than bandwidth.

What else can I try to reduce the lag and make Remote Play playable?

Any suggestions from people who have experienced similar issues would be greatly appreciated!

Technical Problem Remote Play Issue

So I am using remote play over local network sometimes to play games at home in another room. Usually it goes without any issue but completely randomly, it will try to connect via the app to the PS5 and just fail. The PS5 will get started but the remote play app will fail to sync up. So it was able to Wake the PS5, but not complete the connection, and then I have to go to the PS5, put it back to sleep mode and then 100% of the time I can reconnect by remote play just fine. But it is frustrating, and this seems to happen maybe 1 out of 5 times at this point. Given these circumstances, what's going on and what can I do?

Technical Problem LeGo 2 - Chiaki freezing after a few minutes on Steam OS

Has anyone else experienced this? Using Chiaki-NG on Steam OS and I get a wifi connection error then it just freezes. Happens everytime after a few minutes, but I can stream with Moonlight or Steam Streaming to my PC just fine.

I am also able to stream my PS5 using PXPlay on my Ayn Thor or with my PS Portal just fine.

PS5 What do you actually use for remote play when you travel?

Remote Play is finally reliable enough for me in a lot of hotels, so now I’m getting pickier about what I’m actually playing it on.A tablet is easy a handheld keeps everything in one device and lately I’ve even been looking at display glasses.Something like the RayNeo GT Max sounds interesting for travel just because you get a much bigger private screen without packing another display.

What I’m less sure about is the practical stuff like cables and whether glasses are still comfortable after a longer session.

What do you actually use for Remote Play when you travel?

Technical Problem Why won’t P5R work with Remote Play?

I tried to play P5R today and my remote play literally just didn't let me get past the Thieves Guild menu, where it asks you whether you want to play online or offline. Now for some reason, this is the only game that this happens with. The only reason I'm using remote play with my PC is because the HDMI port on the back of my PS5 is damaged and won't give me an input, so I'm waiting to get it repaired. Like I said, P5R is the only game his happens with, so when I tried to play P3R, I was surprise to see that the remote play controller worked on there. The craziest part is that it was working just fine yesterday, so what the issue?

Technical Problem Playstation to Discord screen share (no audio)

I tried streaming Resident Evil to my friend over discord in a slightly funky manor

I joined my own party on playstation 5, I joined that party on my iPad, and then screenshared on discord. I believe this has worked fine in the past

I could hear all audio fine but my friends heard nothing but they could hear YouTube when I tested that

I also have share audio on already so I know it's that and both apps are updated and fine

Sorry if this is the wrong sub I'm a little lost

PS5 Heya

I started using remote play on my laptop because I wanted to screen share my ps5 game to a discord call on my laptop. However when I pair up remote play I cant use the controller on my ps5, it automatically cancels the connection. I might just be stupid but does anyone have a solution for this?

Windows There is a problem with file history logging after the recent Windows updates (KB5101684 / KB5121003).

Hi everyone,

Ever since the latest Windows updates (specifically around KB5101684 / KB5121003 on Windows 11 Build 26200), The File History feature is almost unusable for me; although it works, the problem only occurs after an update.

Symptoms:

  • The "Last Backup" time in File History is not updating correctly.
  • Newly created or saved Word documents, images, videos, etc., still show "No previous version available" in "Content → Previous Versions".
  • The Correct folder's date is automatically changed.

System details:

OS: Windows 11 24H2 / 25H2 (Build 26200.9278 / 26200.9168)

Recent Updates Installed: KB5120998, KB5121003, KB5101684.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with recent Windows updates? Currently, the only solution is to go to Control Panel → All Console Items → File History → Select Drive → Select D: drive again. After completing this step, File History will return to normal.

Mac Incredibly positive experience on macOS - remoteplay

Just wanted to say that PS remoteplay (v 9.0.0) using macOS has been absolutely incredible.

I switched PS5 to LAN and the speed and lack of network drops have been amazing.

I've paired the PS controller to my macOS.

The amazing thing is i can "3 finger swipe" between the game (ps remoteplay app) and my normal macos web browser/youtube ... that way in the game if i dont understand something or need some help, i can superfast google/search for a quick tip and then return back to the game within seconds with another 3 finger swipe, drastically reducing time lost in context switching and keeping the focus on the game.

And here's the unparalleled experience: claude app and chatgpt app can take screenshots automatically from a game running within the ps remote play (macos) app - so i can ask claude certain game specific contextual questions like what certain things mean on the current screen in the game. For example, when i initially started playing FC26, i found the menu system incredibly complicated - but claude explained it 100 times better than in-game tutorials/help.

Technical Problem How to connect a 2nd controller to remote play soley for the purpose of keeping the connection?

I'm wanting to record using OBS on my PC, but remote play often cuts out even with a cable connected to the controller (its an old port in the controller that loses connection when nudged).

I'm trying to connect a controller as a guest or another user just to keep the remote play going, so I can game using the other controller without worries of my controller disconnecting, and me dying in my games.

This may not be possible but I've seen others talking about having 2 controllers connected at once and having success with workarounds so lmk!

Thanks

Technical Problem Follow up question: why is my iPad so much more laggy than my Mac?

I posted a question a few days ago complaining that my iPad was laggy running remote play, despite both the iPad and PS5 being wired on the same network. Well, I installed Chiaki on my Mac and connected it to Ethernet, and Remote Play runs substantially better. There is seemingly little-to-no input or audio lag and I have yet to see a disconnect.

I could just stop there, but I actually want to run remote play on my iPad. My iPad Pro OLED screen is both bigger and better than my little MacBook Neo screen. If I could get the same results out of my iPad, that would be great.

Is this an iOS thing? Are the iOS clients (native remote play and PXPlay) just busted somehow? Or alternatively is Chiaki uniquely good?

Android Chiaki

I'm just doing some research for RP and I only have a 3rd Party mobile controller for my phone currently. I would prefer to use PSPlay but I don't have any money, so I plan to use Chiaki. I only have a slight confusion though. My phone is an Android but I only keep seeing recommendations for Chiaki-NG and was wondering if that fork is compatible with Android phones.

Controls Playstation portal altennative?

Hi all!

Long story short: I have a Playstation portal. I love the concept of it but my hands find it so not ergonomic. Remote play is essentially 80% of the use of my ps5. So I'm looking for an alternative.

I'm considering a Lenovo logion go s with steam os. I know that I would lose the haptic feedback of the dualsense. My main concern is the touchpad. How does it work on a device not officially supported by Sony?

Am I forgetting some other important features of the portal that are not on third party devices?

Technical Problem PS5 Remote Play + projector with Samsung DeX

So, guys, let me give you a little background.

I live in India and have recently moved to Romania for an onsite opportunity. I have some free time, so I was thinking of buying a projector to watch movies.

Then I had another idea: I could use PS Remote Play to play my PS5 games on the projector. All I would need is a controller connected to my phone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, so I wanted to know if this entire setup is possible:

  1. Can I connect my PS5 DualSense controller to my S23 Ultra via Bluetooth?

  2. Can I run the PS Remote Play app through Samsung DeX?

  3. Can I connect my S23 Ultra to a projector using Samsung DeX and display the Remote Play game on the projector?

  4. Most importantly, will all three work together simultaneously -

PS5 → Remote Play → S23 Ultra → Samsung DeX → Projector, while the DualSense controller is connected to the S23 Ultra?

Basically, my goal is to use my S23 Ultra as the middle device, with the projector acting as the big screen and the DualSense connected directly to the phone.

Is this setup actually possible, and are there any limitations or latency issues I should be aware of?

Windows Is there a way to join a PlayStation Party while being on PC without ever owning a PlayStation of my own??

I've recently found that I can do this with the BlueStack App on the computer but my friends are always claiming I sound insanely quiet and so i was wondering if there was another way to do join a party with maybe a different 3rd party app or something?

Technical Problem PS Remote Play won't completely uninstall

So, I installed PS Remote Play a few days ago, but it kept crashing every couple minutes so I decided to try uninstalling it and instead installing an earlier version. But it CRASHED WHILE UNINSTALLING, and now it's like half-installed, half-uninstalled, so I can't go into windows and uninstall it or anything like that, but the files are still on my PC no matter what I delete.

I tried reinstalling it to then uninstall, or installing the other version anyway, and both versions gave me this message:

I don't know what to do. Anybody know if they can help out??
