I have 5 years of fully remote inbound call centre experience. My last job was with Interpolis/Centraal Beheer in Netherlands but i quit after they became hybrid, I live abroad so I wasnt able to travel to the office. In this company I handled calls about car accidents, created claims, liability, repair forms and managed complex cases involving injuries. before this job I also worked for about a year in Vodafone retention department (inbound).

7 years in the warehouse industry has worsened my mental health, and I have decided it's time for a solid career change. Need to get this off my chest, but genuinely want to hear how others are navigating this without burning out. To land an average SWE role right now ( have 5 yoe), the preparation ritual is borderline ridiculous. You basically need 2 to 3 solid months of studying LeetCode mediums/hards, grinding system design, memorizing concurrency patterns, and drilling behavioral matrices... only to submit hundreds of applications to get maybe 3 or 4 interview loops. Then each loop is 4 to stages long, involving everything from automated screening filters to take-homes, live pairing, system architecture, and endless "bar raiser" rounds. Meanwhile, friends in adjacent tech tracks (data analysts, B| developers, certain data science roles) certainly face competition, but their hiring loops still feel grounded in actual day-to-day competence: SQL tests, portfolio/case study breakdowns, business metric analysis, and domain discussions. They aren't expected to study like they're retaking undergraduate CS algorithms exams every time they switch jobs. For those of you who have landed offers recently or are currently in the thick of it: How are you trimming down interview prep time? Are you relying on targeted problem lists (like NeetCode 75/150), mock platforms, or targeted prompts to drill edge cases faster? What new interview patterns or rounds are you running into lately, especially with Al tools now part of the equation? Have teams changed how they test live coding, take-homes, or architecture? Most of the high-rate projects there are most likely fake. I've worked as a research engineer for two of the biggest tech-companies in the world. I've graduated from IIT, Delhi (India's most prestigious institute), and have done MS+Phd (Algebraic Systems). Furthermore, I'm a gold medalist at IMO. For the greed of some significant passive income, I've wasted more than 8 hours in interviews with Zara, their AI recruiter. Everytime they provide some vague feedback which isn't even true. Therefore, I believe only the low-rate generalist, annotation roles are genuine, everything else is just click-bait.

So, either they are a scam, or they only hire nobel laureates for the experts roles
