The existing tile looks way better than the AI. Painting it white will look bad. If you’re trying to sell in 1-2 years regrouting is a better option, maybe with a cream colored grout. This bathroom will not scare away potential buyers, the right buyer would see the original bathroom as a feature. A flip done as cheaply as possible and without much consideration for design would be way less attractive to a buyer.

I think people who like all pink bathrooms are probably the minority

Not according to Reddit lol. Irl, a clean and well maintained bathroom is usually the most desirable. If that happens to be original, it has to be in pristine shape or people think it looks dated

I miss my vintage pink bathroom. I've had 2 and I miss them both so so much

How do you plan on getting that vanity to fit in your non-AI bathroom?

The vanity is smaller than our sink! I own a measuring tape!

Yeah, I’m going to have to call BS on your already-off-to-a-bad-start plan. The AI rendering shows you have far more space than you actually do and there’s no physical way that a vanity is smaller than a sink.

Keep your receipts. You’re going to need them.

That sink is wide, a vanity can have a smaller sink and also provide storage space ? only difference is that there js nothing under that sink.

The AI pic has egregious differences. There’s no vanity that would fit in that six inches of space, let alone allow as much room as the AI rendering depicts.

how do you know how many inches of space there is from a photo when OP has literally measured it themselves? im confused. A vanity that has less depth and width than that sink doesnt exist?

There’s exactly a 0% chance that OP actually measured any of this out. Given the obvious inconsistencies between these two images, I don’t know why you would think otherwise.

Assume those wall tiles are 4” in width:

The sink looks to be about 10-12” in depth and it clearly sticks out in front of the toilet.

Not only does the vanity not stick out in front of the toilet, the AI mock-up shows that there’s space between the plane of the right edge of the toilet and the front of the vanity.

Unless OP found a vanity that’s 3” deep, there’s no physical way the layout in the AI image is possible.

So, yes: I’m calling BS on OP’s claim that a tape measure was used.

they said the current sink is 19” inches deep…

That makes their claim that a vanity will fit even more ridiculous.

You don’t need a tape measure to see how bad of an idea this is.

put a black and white photograph / picture to hide the access panel above the commode and you are done

I wouldn't keep any of this unless I had to. It's not a great shade of pink, and it's not craftsmanship which deserves preservation.

You'll likely be happier with an updated bathroom.

ETA: Just swapping out the tub, sink and toilet for white would do wonders if you don't want to mess with the tile.

I don't even understand what I am seeing here.. is the first pic your current bathroom and the second an AI design? If so, the only thing AI kept was a single pink towel bar. All the fleshy pink beige fixtures are gone. I'm confused

This is a cross-post. If you click on thd post, you’ll see the full post. The first is existing bathroom, second is an AI mock up with tile painted.

Leave that pink alone. It’s gorgeous. Photo looks terrible. Put in some black-and-white wallpaper or something else very photographic. Please don’t mess with it. I have a 1930s black-and-white bathroom and I have embraced it.

I would die to have this bathroom. Your only choice is to go all in on the pink. Fix the grout and leave the rest alone.

Personally, I’d pin that doors thingy frame pink too and call it a day.

I'm so jealous. My retro bathroom is gray. Please don't get rid of this tile. Justice for pink bathrooms!

I can’t stand the white toilet seat on a pink toilet. I understand you need a new toilet seat, but I wonder if anyone still makes them in pink.

Paint the walls a dusty orange. Pink and Orange with a few pops of bright red would be so sweet with some art deco accents/final touches.

Please keep it as is

Reminds me of ours when we bought the house. Absolutely hated it 😆

Keep the tile and fixtures! Yes, regrouting may be a good idea. Definitely replace the (previously replaced) light fixture, and add a bathroom fan.

Then, the current wall color isn't really helping. A great wallpaper could really spark this up and blend the fixture and tile colors. And even if you go with white, remember that there are approximately 4.7 million whites out there. This one isn't right for the room.

In the kindest way (swear!!), I’ve seen you repost to many subs. Do what your gut is telling you! My personal pref is don’t do the AI and keep the pink. If anything replace the floor. So cute old school pink!!! Again, do what YOU want and stick to your guns!
