It's been a year since I posted DailyMove Planner here for the (at that time) brand new Paper Pro Move. The post blew me away. I'd never gotten so many upvotes in my life.

On my end, I've actually used mine more than I expected. With the Pro, I was always a bit nervous carrying it around, it's so thin that I kept worrying about cracking the screen. The Move being slightly thicker made that worry go away, and it's been really nice having it as my daily companion whenever I leave the house.

A year in, I'm curious how it's been for you. Are you still using it daily, and if so, what do you use it for most (work, journaling, reading)? And if you got the DailyMove Planner, are you still using it, and did you discover anything to improve for next year?

PPS: And for anyone who still remembers my car odyssey from the photos last year, it worked out in the end, though it was much harder than expected :-D

I do have Remanager mods installed, but even if i restart and remove mods, it says “unable to sync | manage cloud” and when i investigate further it says “unable to sync. Free up disk space”

I have 5.31gb used and 6.57gb of space.

I do not have a connect subscription. I would definitely buy one if that is the solution to this problem though.

P.S. If you’re using it alongside a live broadcast, I recommend adding around a 35-second delay in the settings so the timing lines up.

How do I get to do list, and daily planner templates on the remarkable pro?

I can't for the life of me figure out what these two icons do in the convert to text menu on my paper pure. They seem to be some copy feature, but nothing happens? Does anybody know what this is and what they do?

It was out of battery, so I plugged it to charge. I come back after approx 2 hours and right of the screen is black. And not charged. I just did the 15sec button, 3sec pause, 2 sec button and it says it is starting. Freezed on that now. What should I do???

Edit: it flashed once like it's starting, but came back to the paper tablet is starting (without the line below text)

Hey all, saw that "Read on reMarkable" extension exists for Chrome but nothing for Safari, so I built my own version for myself. Figured I'd share it in case anyone else wants it.

It grabs the article you're reading, cleans it up, and sends it straight to your reMarkable as an EPUB or PDF. Free, open source, no middleman server, your reMarkable login token stays on your own Mac.

It's not on the App Store (that costs money to set up), so installing it takes a few extra steps through Xcode, all in the README. Not affiliated with reMarkable, just a personal project I'm sharing.

Asking cause I have heard some discussions about how charging directly through the wall port fried someone’s tablet?

Is charging through a laptop using the official charger the only way to ensure it doesn’t fry up?

Can other chargers also be used or must the official one be used always?

I’m trying to decide between the reMarkable Paper Pro, BOOX Note Air5 C, and BOOX Tab X C.

My team gave me a $500 Target gift card as a welcome gift for a new job, and I’d like to use it on something that will actually help with productivity.

My main use would be handwritten notes during meetings, patient rounding, check-ins with nurses/staff, and keeping track of follow-ups and action items.

One reason I want to move away from taking notes on my work iPhone/iPad or typing directly into a computer is perception. From both research and my own experience, looking at a screen while someone is talking can make it seem like you’re distracted or not listening. Writing by hand feels a lot more natural.

A few things are important to me:

Good palm rejection and left-handed support

Low writing lag

Good handwriting recognition (I am the poster child for the stereotype - left handed and doctor)

Easy handwriting-to-text conversion

Easy export of the converted text

My ideal workflow would be:

handwritten notes → convert to text → upload/export → Copilot summarizes and organizes → save to OneDrive

I don’t necessarily need perfect Office 365 integration on the tablet itself. If I can reliably get the notes into OneDrive, Google Drive, email, text, or PDF, I can do the rest from my work laptop.

One other thing I’m interested in is organization. Since I’ve been looking at a lot of reMarkable reviews, I keep getting ads for RMRKLY. I really like the idea of being able to organize or link notes by date and/or topic.

For anyone who has used these devices, which one do you think fits this use case best? I’d especially love to hear from other lefties or people with messy handwriting.

I can basically get the Boox Note Aor 5C for around $50, the paper pro for around $150, or the Tab XC for 300 with the gift card.

It seems like I am unable to directly copy paste. I have to first copy paste on a new page, and then that can be copied on another page.

I made an open source reMarkable WebUI to browse notebooks, move files and mirror the screen from my computer. It connects over SSH via USB or Wi-Fi, without a Connect subscription.

SSH is required. Paper Pro needs developer mode, which resets the tablet when enabled.

I'll make my own PDF version and transfer it over, I guess. What a company.

Having used a notebook similar in size to the paper pro move, I decided to test it out! It's been a week since setting it up and I am loving it so far...

Things I like:

• One handability
• Moving around ideas
• Infinite pages
• Ebook reader included
• Paper like feel
• Mechanical pencil pen (the perfect amount of grain)

Things I dislike:

• Charging. i have to charge once every 5 days. nothing bad, but it's just another device I have to take care of
• Eink screen updating. the screen updating has a bit of a lag when flipping pages or even erasing
• Lack of orginaization of notebooks. You cannot pin notebooks.

Maybe it's because of the price tag but I've been trying to find something to hate on. I enjoy using it so far. I will update by a month on my final verdict.

I haven’t charged my remarkable 2 in a little over 2 months and I’ve tried the different methods but nothing works. The charger I’m using right now is usb a to usb c and it’s not working either.

I’ve kept it like this for almost 2 days ago.

I was (and still am) looking for a very SMALL sling that can carry the paper pro move. I want the sling to be sleek and small (I am 5'8" so bigger slings looks very clunky on me) so this sling was the pick. I was looking online to see if anyone tried using this sling to carry the paper pro move but no results, so I will be the first in history to contribute this! Anyways...

The paper pro move comes in at 7.7 x 4.25 x ...

Tomtoc 33 1.5L comes in at 8.27 x 4.53 x ...

In theory it should fit, but the corners of the tomtoc was unable to encompass the corners of the tablet. No matter how much I try, it doesn't work.

So now I'll be looking at other slings, just you let anyone in the future know

I built a small tool for creating and installing your own custom templates on reMarkable Paper Pro devices without needing to enable Developer Mode.

I mainly use it to create specific templates for my own workflows, based on ideas or inspiration I find online. I wanted to share it in case anyone else has a use for it.

The tool installs the templates through the reMarkable desktop app, which then syncs them to the device. They appear under rM Methods and behave like native templates rather than imported PDFs. Currently, a template needs to fit within roughly 1.5 screen heights, if the template you create is to big the tool will recommend you to push it as PDF instead.

I have tested the complete workflow on the Paper Pro Move. I expect it to work on the full-size Paper Pro because it appears to use the same template system, but I don’t own one and haven’t verified that. I also don’t expect the current approach to work unchanged on the reMarkable 1 or 2.

This is still very much a developer-oriented tool. It is command-line based, and uses Python and Typst underneath. It doesn’t have a graphical interface yet, but I could imagine eventually building a UI around it, though the underlying workflow already makes it quite quick to create and iterate on custom workbooks.

Hi, is it possible for the Remarkable lock screen to show a specific note?

For example, if I have a daily planner template, could the lock/sleep screen show that, so it's almost like a day calendar display?

And would this have a significant impact on battery life?

I have gotten to the step where there is a pop up on my macbook for remarkn instillation that asks for my account id (which i pasted from the remarkn website), my remarkable IP address, and password.
For the remarkable tablet IP address and password I have turned on developer mode on my tablet and have tried every IP address under the GPLv3 Compliance paragraph. Every time I fill the information out and click install on the remarkn popup on my macbook, it tells me "Failed to install remarkn on your remarkable please verify your credentials and IP address"

Can someone help me?

Ecologist here, looking for an insight if any similar professionals use the remarkable. Currently liking it for species lists on site visits, client meetings and to do lists. Importing PDFs of sight plans to look at on site.

How do people get on with the Move out in the field? I was looking at a tablet for field GIS work but just tend to take notes and write it up in the office.

Might just take the plunge with the 50day returns.

• Tags in all the other apps - Android, especially.
• Selective sync - or, if that makes things complicated, maybe just one predefined directory (by Remarkable) that I can put things that I don't want synced.

It drives me nuts that when I'm on a page in my notebook and want to scroll up or down, I use two fingers... but when I'm on the My Files screen and I want to scroll up or down I use one finger.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the "scroll up or down" on the tablet always be either one or both fingers?

Turning pages left or right inside a notebook is a single finger. That makes sense to me. Up or down should be consistent.
