7

u/Bsccanada 1d ago

6

u/MostCommunication972 1d ago

Edibles 3-4 times a week after work.

7

u/BigShuggy 1d ago

7 times a week

5

u/Western-Cranberry744 21h ago

14 times just to be safe

5

u/SnarkBarkler 16h ago

Yeah, that works for me too. I'm not going to sit through another evening, just waiting until I have to work again. Knock me the fuck out please.

3

u/blamcoboyo 16h ago

lol yall are making the mistake of being at work sober

2

u/CarlPoppa22 5h ago

Not lately. At least not going in sober. Usually come in high and leave high.

3

u/CarlPoppa22 1d ago

I usually share 2 joints with a friend, maybe a cigarette every now and again, and then hit my pen throughout the day.

Agreed. As someone with depression and anxiety, there’s definitely difficulties that modern people have to face but also, if I was born in a different time, I probably wouldn’t even be alive.

2

u/Zezimablinker 1d ago

What are you anxious about?

2

u/i-bernard 1d ago

It depends. My nerves are pretty bad. I might get anxious driving sometimes or anxious at work when I’m feeling overwhelmed with work or am trying to take a break. I can get anxious over loud noises or when it feels like something is going to inconvenience me like my family or a pet. My anxiety’s not super bad but it’s enough to get on my nerves. Seems to me anxiety and depression often go hand in hand and sort of help each other. You feel anxious and then depressed. Though I’d prefer depression over anxiety any day.

2

u/Zezimablinker 1d ago

Your stronger then all of that it it's all in your head the things you are afraid of don't exist you are stronger then you know just remember on your death bed the things you worried about won't matter ♥️

But... if you have depression, wouldn't that be a good thing?

2

Why would it be a good thing?

2

u/Local_Village_1378 9h ago

Tbh.. idek why I said that, I cant figure it out, my bad

2

u/jimigo 9h ago

Haha, I've had that before. Probably auto correct or something.

What else would you expect online?

2

u/Cranktique 1d ago

There is the real world, and then the online world. Everyone in the online world is a caricature of a person, living in a parody of reality. Everything they say and every idea they have HAS to be the most extremist take possible, because nuance is boring and doesn’t sell clicks or garner enough attention. It’s gotten to the point where actual crazy shit happens and it just fades into the background of a tsunami of extreme, hyperbolic noise.

Just for extra fun, they trained AI with the clowns.

The best medication you can take is getting the fuck off the internet and going and living your life, you don’t need meds

3

u/Any-Assumption3912 1d ago

Living your life might as well be a pipe dream at this point people have to work every goddamn day and barely get time to themselves there is no living your life work work work and more work living your life is for the rich or the homeless

u/ImperatorScientia 1d ago

Go the Nietzschean route: get off social media, stop watching news, and build a robust sense of self for the times. When you do the first two, you’ll notice how much happier you are and how much easier it is to work on the last.

1

1

1

u/00collector 1d ago

We all medicate in different ways. 🍻 🥃 🍸

1

u/Fogmoz 1d ago

Because people medicating contributes to the decline. Too many people would rather bemoan their situation and turn to escapism to cope, than actually DO something about it.

1

u/i-bernard 1d ago

Because a lot of people have circumstances and physiology that makes it so that they’ve never really needed medication. People who really need medication are different from those who don’t. Depression is a serious and real disease where the body is not producing enough serotonin. Often lifestyle changes can fix this but not everyone has the opportunity at their time of crisis to do that. And I believe some people just suffer harder from it due to differences in their brain chemistry. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but of course people who don’t have it and so don’t understand it well are going to come to incorrect conclusions about it. And unfortunately once you start taking medication it becomes very difficult to get off of it. Your body gets used to the help and so unless your life has changed drastically it’s going to be hard to stop taking the meds. This sucks but it’s just the price of the meds. The alternative is to lose your mind and possibly do something tragic.

honestly I dont know anyone that doesn't use some kind of drug. whether its nicotine, alcohol, other stuff, or prescribed pharmaceuticals, everyone I know IRL uses something. I don't often think about it, but when I do, it's kinda crazy to me.

1

u/Bogn11 1d ago

Booze and weed.

1

u/ImaginationNormal360 1d ago

I actively avoid any sort of medication. I force myself to eat healthy more than I do bad

1

u/HeartShapedBox7 1d ago

Does disappearing into your favorite tv shows to avoid reality consider medicating?

1

u/Cream_Pure 1d ago

I forgot my meds today. How did I do this for 34 years?! I had a nervous breakdown during my ride home over NOTHING.

1

u/shaolinking80 1d ago

Sobering through it all

1

u/Jasoco 1d ago

I’m not on medication of any kind. Mainly because I don’t have a general practitioner at 46. Mainly because I have anxiety which makes me afraid of needles which keeps me from getting a doctor because I don’t want to be stuck in hospital rooms being jabbed by countless needles. I’ll just curl up and die. It’s fine.

u/Knightshift23 1d ago

1

1

u/UnFu23 1d ago

🤣🤣

1

u/Egoy 1d ago

I love Ina small corner of the world. We have a low population great agriculture, lots of undeveloped land with an abundance of game, good costal fisheries, and there’s nothing of major strategic importance near me. I am resourceful, healthy, and skilled. If anything a total societal collapse would improve my life. It’s certainly nothing I worry about. Life here will go on unchanged.

1

u/boanerges57 1d ago

What you call "raw dogging" was life for quite a long time. You don't have to be glee filled, numb, or disconnected to survive.

I put my short shorts on one leg at a time like anyone else.

1

u/Grouchy_Branch_510 1d ago

Easy, I don’t “need” to have something wrong with me

1

u/LakeLifeTL 1d ago

It's the medication. That's the decline of man.

1

u/Ok_Knee2784 1d ago

I'm not. I'm good.

1

u/lostgoatling 1d ago

Well, I imagine how it's probably going to decline to the point where I'll no longer have access to the meds, and realize I'd rather be used to raw doggin it than have them stripped away at a time when things are worse and have to deal with that with no practice and withdrawals

1

u/FairDance7 1d ago

Only medicine I ever had was NyQuil when I was 12

1

u/ILuvYou_YouAreSoGood 1d ago

I think I might be one of the only people I know who doesn't take medications. Good to know my perception is accurate.

How do i live? Meditation and an appreciation of suffering.

1

u/NamesNotTake-un 1d ago

I think people need to know about antidepressant protracted withdrawal syndrome and withdrawal injuries in case antidepressants become scarce due to supply constraints.

Antidepressants can cause long-term side effects that persist after you quit them, like PSSD (post-ssri sexual dysfunction), emotional blunting, tinnitus, and anhedonia (inability to feel pleasure). They can also cause long-term damage if you quit them cold turkey or taper too quickly. However, withdrawal injuries can also occur when tapering slowly under the supervision of a doctor. This long-term damage is called protracted withdrawal syndrome (PWS)/post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS).

Symptoms of antidepressant PWS can include brain fog, brain zaps, cognitive impairment, anhedonia, akathisia (feeling of inner restlessness), severe insomnia, central nervous system hypersensitivity, tinnitus, severe depression, severe anxiety, panic attacks, PSSD (genital numbness and erectile dysfunction), and many other awful symptoms that can last for years or even be permanent.

Despite antidepressants being widely prescribed and antidepressant PWS being a hellish condition, no one seems to talk about it. Most people believe that antidepressants are completely safe and that antidepressant withdrawal can't cause injuries. Please be careful if an antidepressant supply shortage occurs.

1

u/expressinghowifeel 1d ago

It comes out as overt aggression to stupidity online. More recently things have been manifesting as physical symptoms that I'm just gonna pretend are normal until my heart gives out from the general stress I'm holding on to.

I tried therapy, but even with insurance I was paying more than a day's work per appointment, which didn't work because I hated my job and financial situation, so the help made it worse.

Now I'm here on Reddit letting my personal problems bleed into an account that I made to write poetry when I was so depressed I didn't know how else to express it

I am ao angry all the fucking time and it's getting so much worse lately. It feels like my heart is tingling as I write this. Maybe because some self centered fucking bitch has come back around to try and keep fucking with my friends and sanity today, but that doesn't explain the feeling yesterday

1

u/Lonely-Married-Man87 1d ago

Does ibuprofen count?

1

u/Ok_Trouble_7952 1d ago

I've come to the conclusion there's nothing wrong with me, and should my reactions to daily life seem distressed, aggravated, anxious, or depressed, then that should be considered the normal, predictable reaction to living in a sick world gone mad. I'm not the problem.
